Greene County Criminal Justice Training Academy is dedicated to developing peace officers who demonstrate and exhibit high morals and ethics as well as are trained to face the physical and mental demands of the profession.

Training for those aiming for a career as an Ohio Peace Offi cer, the course consists of 610 hours. The Greene County Criminal Justice Academy is designed to meet and exceed the requirements of the Ohio Revised Code Section 109.77 for Peace Offi cer

Certifi cation.

Trainees receive quality academic and tactile skills from high quality instructors who are considered the best in their fi elds. In addition to the intense training schedule, trainees receive advanced training to enhance their knowledge of the fi eld.

Are you interested in entering the medical field? Working as a state tested nursing assistant (STNA) can launch your career in health care. Greene County STNA Prep Program prepares individuals for entry level health care professions.

Greene County STNA Prep Program prepares individuals for entry level health care. Training consists of classroom instruction and 16 hours of hands-on clinical training.

Upon successful completion of the training program, graduates will obtain a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Certificate and be eligible to take the State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) examination. This class may satisfy the prerequisite course required by nursing schools.

Greene County Career Center is an approved training site by the Ohio Department of Health.

Greene County Medical Assistant 900 Hour Program is designed to keep up with the changes in the field of healthcare. With the increasing costs in health care, many employers rely on the expert support of medical assistants to deliver care to patients as efficiently as possible.

Designed to help you acquire practical knowledge, the Medical Assistant program is comprised of three segments: front office administrative skills, clinical skills and application of knowledge in an approved healthcare externship placement.

The Medical Assistant program prepares you to take one or more national certification exams to attain credentials such as Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), and EKG Technician (CET).

Greene County Medical Office Specialist 600 Hour Program will help you to open the door to an exciting occupation.

You will learn basic clerical skills, medical terminology, medical billing procedures, basic human anatomy, and computer software applications leading to Offi ce Profi ciency Assessment and Certifi cation (OPAC) for Business Education Students. This training will prepare you to work in medical offi ces and health care facilities. Medical Offi ce Specialists are key to the daily operations of a medical facility. 600 hour Program is designed

to introduce the student to the

fundamentals of electrical wiring

in residential, light commercial

and industrial settings.

During the first term, the course

introduces the student to the

fundamentals of electrical

applications, safety, hand

bending, fasteners and anchors,

electrical theory, test equipment,

NEC, raceways, conductors, and

electrical diagrams.

During the second term, the course

introduces the student to light

commercial and industrial wiring,

residential wiring, and an extensive

“hands-on” practical lab in which

the student will perform wiring

projects simulating a residential

structure.

Chill Out

Greene County HVAC 600 hour

program provides the training for

an individual to become a HVAC

technician. HVAC technicians

repair and trouble shoot heating,

ventilation and air conditioning

systems in both commercial and

residential settings.

This course is designed to

provide a fundamental knowledge

for installation, maintaining,

troubleshooting and repairing heating,

ventilation, and air conditioning

systems. Students learn about basic

electrical systems, concepts of

refrigeration and heating,

single-phase and three-phase circuits

and the equipment used to test

HVAC systems.

Career oriented welders should consider this course. Training includes entry level skills of gas tungsten ARC welding, plus focuses on the specifications and techniques used in this industry. Previous welding experience is highly recommended before taking the Aerospace course.

We offer Basic Rider Motorcycle Safety Courses through a partnership with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation in Troy, Ohio. The 16-hour Basic Rider Course is offered for $50.00. The student must have a valid motorcycle temporary permit to enroll. At successful completion of the course, waiver forms are issued for motorcycle endorsements
