Founded in 2002, the company has expanded across the world with a network of over 100 partners that both sell and provide local support for its market-leading solutions. Sepura is the market leader in more than 30 countries worldwide and its global customer base spans the public safety and military, public transport and airports, utilities and other commercial sectors.

In May 2012, Sepura acquired 3T

Communications AG, now Sepura Systems, who design and manufacture TETRA infrastructure systems, predominantly for customers in sectors such as chemicals, manufacturing, oil & gas and utilities. Sepura is now able to offer complete TETRA communications solutions, ranging from single base stations and multiple site network infrastructure, through radio terminals to a full suite of radio applications.

Sepura is a global leader in the

design, manufacture and supply

of TETRA digital radios, systems

and applications.

SOLO BASE STATION

FEATURES

Small and compact Deployable individually

or in a network of single- and multi-carrier base stations

Low energy consumption (130W) Provides full TETRA

functionality with 25W output

Conforms to all relevant ETSI-Standards and TIP specifications

High receiver sensitivity Extended fall-back

mode and duplicate user database End-to-End and Air

Interface encryption

BENEFITS

Easily transportable Outstanding operational efficiency Provides excellent back-up facility Full range of management tools (gateways, dispatcher etc) Absence of mast-mounting requirement simplifies installation and maintenance Provides excellent security capabilities eXTRAS SOLO is a compact single-carrier base station. The SOLO builds on the established advantages of the eXTRAS range, but in a compact format, to meet the requirements of users with limited space availability. It offers leading edge, spectrum-efficient, TETRA base station IP connectivity in a very limited footprint. There is also the possibility of using two SOLOs together, either by utilising their dual carrier capability to expand capacity or using them in redundant configuration to provide a back-up facility.

(5)

FEATURES

Standard compact PCI technology provides a future-proofed platform Up to 8 carriers

per base station Standard 19 inch

rack mounting Fully IP compatible Output of 25 Watts

per carrier at duplexer and 40 Watts per carrier at base station Receiver equalizer

and 2 channel diversity

BENEFITS

Minimises cost through low power usage Multiple power

supply alarm and fall-back options Offers support to data applications by providing secondary control channel Hot-pluggable modules allow live replacements without impacting communications Extended fall-back

mode offers reassurance in the event of interconnect failure eXTRAS FR400 base station is a

modular system. Up to 8 transceivers and various antenna combinations and repeaters are supported. It can operate either in stand-alone mode

or as part of a networked configuration where it is able to provide single cell operation, even when isolated from the rest of the network.

Facilitating communication with / via other systems is crucial. Gateways provide the key interface between Sepura base stations and other critical systems. Specifically;

• The SDS Gateway facilitates the use and sending of text messaging. It allows text messaging into / out of a dispatcher, which is particularly relevant in a control room environment. It allows storing and forwarding of SDS messages, for when a subscriber is not on the network, and also enables the network load to be reduced, as SDS messages received do not then need to be re-transmitted over the air.

• The PABX Gateway facilitates voice communications on the public telephone network, thus enabling users to make phone calls from their TETRA radio to office-based workers and to members of the public.

• The Packet Data Gateway facilitates the use of IP based data transmission between subscriber and network.

FEATURES

Stand-alone gateways Sit on separate infrastructure (standard laptops) Dedicated applications

BENEFITS

Allow the solution to be designed to the requirements of the customer No specialist hardware

means cost of ownership is reduced

Reliability, robustness and speed of operation
