Once the wealth management plan is in place, we have a good understanding of the benchmark return required to help make your dreams come true. We take this knowledge and develop a prudent asset allocation model to act as our strategic compass to success. As time goes on, and economic cycles change, we adjust the allocation to take advantage of positive news and protect when conditions are less favorable.

Combining prudent asset allocation with the right professional money manager in each asset class is an important decision. RBC Wealth Management provides meaningful insight and important information on a broad list of investment managers as well as strategic asset allocation models.

Our process includes:

n Understanding Your Financial Objectives — Many don’t know what their specific objectives include and it’s our job to help you develop and understand your personal and family goals. For many the primary concern is “Will I outlive my money” but there is so much more.

n Gathering Data About Your Current Situation — This information includes but isn’t limited to: mortgages, current savings (401-k, IRA, taxable accounts),

responsibilities for educating children, retirement age, expenses and more. We’ll look at life insurance and the possible need for Long Term Care.

n Developing Smart, Time-Tested Strategies — Next, we analyze this information and match your objectives and financial situation with sound strategies. This includes estate planning, tax planning, asset protection, investment planning and more.

n Implementing Thoughtful and Creative Solutions — Drawing from a wide selection of world-class products, services and other professionals within RBC Wealth Management we develop customized solutions tailored to you.

n Providing Timely, Ongoing Service — We regularly communicate to review your situation, changes in life and adjustments to investment portfolios to ensure your financial objectives are being met.

I manage accounts through RBC Wealth Management’s®

Portfolio Focus program, which is a personalized portfolio management program for which only a select group of RBC Wealth Management’s Financial Advisors qualify.

Through the Portfolio Focus program, I can make investment decisions on your behalf, which allows you to simplify your life, by freeing up your time.

Consider some of these services that I can provide to you through the Portfolio Focus program:

Expertise — Only a select group of RBC Wealth

Management’s Financial Advisors are eligible to serve as portfolio managers in the Portfolio Focus program. This means your advisor has been carefully screened and has the knowledge and experience necessary to carefully evaluate and implement the best investment ideas available.

Personalized Portfolio Management — As your portfolio manager, I will take the time to learn all about you — your family situation, your financial goals, your investment preferences, your time horizon, and your tolerance for risk. Based on this deep understanding of your needs, I can create and maintain a portfolio that’s customized to your needs.

n Customized Service — Acting with integrity and

providing you superior client service, I will allocate your portfolio to meet your specific needs and position it to take advantage of opportunities the market presents. n Risk Management — I will first get to know you and your

specific needs, goals and tolerance for risk. Based upon this information, I will develop a portfolio for you and monitors that portfolio on an ongoing basis. Both RBC Wealth Management and I place the highest priority on ensuring your investments are suitable for your stated investment objectives.

n Timely Investment Decisions — I will continually evaluate your portfolio to ensure that it’s aligned with your goals. If changes need to be made, or if new opportunities present themselves, I will be ready to act promptly on your behalf.

n Accessibility — A third-party portfolio manager may be difficult to contact. Because of your relationship with me, I will be readily available to address any questions or concerns you may have.

(10)

n Comprehensive Reporting — With Portfolio Focus, you will always know exactly where you stand. You’ll receive statements every quarter as long as your account contains a cash or security balance. Statements are mailed monthly when you have transactions during that month, with the exception of money market dividends. And through your complimentary subscription to RBC Wealth Management Connect®, our online account access

system, you can look at the most recent information about your account that is available.

n Asset-based Fee Structure — No commissions are involved in Portfolio Focus transactions. Instead, you pay one quarterly fee, based on your total assets under management. As a result, my compensation is tied to the value of your account — not to the number of trades I make for you. With this approach, you know you are getting objective, solution-oriented investment advice.
