Holy Week Schedule 2021

As we enter the Sixth Week of Lent, We are fasting from focusing on our Differences and Feasting on our Similarities! During the Holiest Week of the Year, we pray we will continue to Feast on walking with Jesus in Prayer. “

“We cannot find Him, unless we know we need Him. We forget this need when we take a self-sufficient pleasure in our own good works. The poor and helpless are the first to find Him, Who came to seek and to save that which was lost.” Merton, Thomas, No Man Is an Island

As we begin our journey of Holy Week, we strive to pray in such a way as to open the depths of our hearts to this communion that God longs to share. We pray everyone will have a very

meaningful Holy Week as we enter this most sacred time in our Church and in our own lives. We extend an invitation to all our families to attend Holy Week Services as a family in person or virtualy. Our witness of faith is the greatest teaching tool we can offer our children. We appeal to you to make these services a priority in your life this week!

Wednesday, March 31

Our Seventh-Grade Class will provide this moving prayer experience for the children and parents to walk with Jesus toward the cross. This is an opportunity for us to discover as a family that it is because of Jesus and each other that we can make the journey at all. The children have worked VERY hardto prepare these stations. PLEASE take some quiet time to share this beautiful Experience of the Stations of the Cross as a family during Holy Week.

Our Lenten Journey has begun at

St. Hilary of Poitiers School

Grades One through Eight will attend Stations of the Cross...virtually... on

Thursday afternoons  at 2:15.

Enclosed, you will find a list of our Weekly Lenten Practices.

Each school day at Noon, we will stop and reflect on our practice with a prayer and

meditation presented over our PA System.

Every child in our school will be keeping a Prayer Journal that will assist our

children in reflections on our Lenten Practices. Ask him/her to share it with you.

This year, we are asking each child to make their own Almsgiving Tub for you and

your child to fill with sacrifices made for our brothers and sisters in need.  The

Almsgiving will be returned to school in an envelope on the Monday of Holy

Week.

We will observe our School Wide Retreat Day on Wednesday of Holy Week.
