The holidays are upon us and I love the joyfulness and cheer that
surrounds this festive time. I also love receiving Christmas letters from dear friends and family. As you well know, coaching leaves me little time to create my own obligatory Christ-mas letter update, so I thought The Lady Panther Post would be a perfect outlet for me to take a crack at the “condensed version.” I know what many of you are thinking, “Coach, we are already Facebook Friends so I know entirely too much of your life as it is!”
So, I will leave out the boring details of my husband’s recent 4.0 in CRNA school, dad’s suc-cessful knee replacement, (he’s a new man), my mom’s early retirement (yay!) or my sister’s first home purchase and her engagement to Drury basketball alum, Adam White! (Like how I snuck those in there?!? )
We recently had our Lady Panther Christmas party at my house and that evening encom-passed why I love being a coach. Drury has now removed my “interim” tag and you know what the first thing that came to my mind was, “I get to keep coaching these girls, awe-some.” At the Christmas party, there was so much laughter and joy, and that, to me, is what being a team is all about. We have fun together, we go to battle together, let’s face it... we spend a lot of our waking hours together, so to have the bonds and connections this team does makes our lives so much more enjoyable. It’s that time of year to reflect on all our blessings and I can’t say it enough, God has blessed me beyond belief. Thank you to the community, Drury, Lady Panther parents, fans and players and all my friends and family for a wonderful 2014! I can’t wait to see what this next year brings.

What are you currently doing career-wise?
I work for a vacation ownership company called Diamond Resorts Interna-tional in LasVegas, NV. I am a Quality Assurance Officer. I have been with the company for 5 years.
What do you miss most about being a Lady Panther?
I miss my Lady Panther friends and family the most. The best part about being a Lady Panther was the camaraderie we had with each other. We went through a lot of tough challenges, but we always made it through because we were all going through the same thing. It makes you really understand what being a part of a team is all about!
What advice would you give current players?
It's tough being a collegiate athlete, but when it is over you will look back on it as one of the best time periods of your life. You have a special opportunity to do something great. I would say don't take it for granted. Practice and play everyday like it is your last. Embrace the love and support that you receive from your incredible Lady Panther fans! Looking back you realize it is such a short time in your life, so give it 100% of your focus.
