Purpose

This document provides an overview of features and enhancements planned for future PeopleSoft releases in Oracle PeopleSoft applications. It is intended solely to help you assess the business benefits of the PeopleSoft Application Suite.

Introduction

As part of its Applications Unlimited strategy, Oracle continues its long-term strategy of investing in PeopleSoft applications on an ongoing basis and building new capabilities across the product suite. This document provides a statement of direction for the

PeopleSoft Application Suite over the next five years, including both off-cycle deliverables and Feature Packs that are in addition to the current PeopleSoft release as well as the next two major PeopleSoft 9.2 and PeopleSoft 9.3 releases.

(5)

Release Strategy

Oracle‘s investment strategy for PeopleSoft is to deliver value-add capabilities on a frequent cadence without the need to upgrade while at the same time building and delivering major new releases. The release methods will be:

 Feature Packs  PeopleTools releases

 New major application releases

To do this, additional enhancements are planned to be delivered off-cycle (that is, between major releases) onto the current PeopleSoft release as part of regular maintenance. Oracle plans to roll up all previously delivered off-cycle enhancements and maintenance annually into a Feature Pack. Feature Packs include a recut CD and include updated documentation and recertified upgrade scripts. Oracle also plans annual PeopleTools releases (the current release being PeopleTools 8.51 delivered in the Fall of 2010), as well as major releases for PeopleSoft applications every three years (the current release being PeopleSoft 9.1 delivered in the Fall of 2009). This strategy has already been executed with the delivery of additional enhancements onto PeopleSoft 9.1 and the delivery of the first set of Feature Packs for PeopleSoft 9.1. Oracle plans to continue this strategy after the delivery of future major releases (PeopleSoft 9.2, 9.3, and so on).

PeopleSoft Release Schedule

Product Strategy

Oracle‘s planned product roadmap for PeopleSoft applications is to deliver value-add features for all of an organization‘s constituents along three design principles—Simplicity, Productivity, and Lowered Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)—as well as new application functionality as prioritized by our customers.

Simplicity

Delivering greater simplicity will enable casual users to effectively leverage PeopleSoft applications while remaining focused on their primary job function. This greatly reduces the need for training and help desk inquiries when deploying self-service applications to a broad user

(6)

community. A key part of this is changing the way users navigate and interact with the system. New concepts like Activity Guides, Train Stops, Related Actions, and Embedded Help—coupled with powerful search and visualization capabilities—will enable both casual and power users to find the information they need and will provide user process flows that are intuitive and at once familiar.

Productivity

By delivering rich features and a flexible role-based user experience, we continue to enable line of business owners to improve productivity and execute mission-critical business transactions efficiently within PeopleSoft. This includes a new WorkCenter capability that enables power users to focus on a set of daily tasks from a single page. The WorkCenter combines transactions, analytics, workflow notifications, and reports into a configurable framework that can be tailored to each role-based user in the enterprise, High-volume users such as a Billing or Payables clerk in the Financials department will see greater productivity and spend less time navigating the system and dealing with exceptions.

Lower TCO

Finally, for the IT department the TCO is lowered by adding new functionality that allows organizations to eliminate costly customizations. Further planned enhancements to the currently available PeopleSoft Test Framework and Usage Monitor—which allow for the creation of metadata driven test cases, expanded integrations within PeopleSoft and between PeopleSoft and other Oracle applications (for example, Hyperion, GRC, and Primavera), support for

virtualization technologies and the incorporation of Oracle‘s Secure Enterprise Search for global search—will all drive down the cost of ownership.

The design principles of Simplicity, Productivity, and Lowered TCO are expected to remain at the core of Oracle‘s planned capabilities for PeopleSoft applications for the foreseeable future. Oracle believes capabilities centered on these design principles address the challenges our customers currently face. Those challenges include an extended and more internet savvy set of users, the need to do more with less, and the constant pressure to reduce operational costs. While this multi-year statement of direction documents Oracle‘s current investment plans for

PeopleSoft, Oracle intends to regularly validate its strategy with its customers through Customer Advisory Boards, Strategy Councils, and direct one-to-one customer engagements to ensure that Oracle delivers the most long-term value as possible to its customers.

Alignment with Overall Oracle Applications Strategy

Aligning PeopleSoft investments with Oracle‘s overall applications strategy consists of two major components. The first is to expand integrations between PeopleSoft and other Oracle

applications (for example, Hyperion, Governance, Risk, and Compliance, and Primavera) in order to deliver complete solutions, This includes the planned delivery of integrations between PeopleSoft and Oracle Fusion Applications 11g to support the co-existence of PeopleSoft

(7)

applications and Fusion Applications. The second major component goes beyond the integration of business processes between PeopleSoft and other Oracle applications to include adoption of Oracle‘s standards based technology and optimization on Oracle database. PeopleSoft is already certified on several value adding Oracle Fusion Middleware technology components including WebLogic, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle Identity Management. These are the same pieces of technology underpinning Oracle Fusion Applications. Already, the reporting strategy for both PeopleSoft and Fusion Applications includes BI Publisher (also known to PeopleSoft users as XMLP). Additionally, both products suites use Oracle Business Intelligence for mapping transactional information to a business warehouse for analytics as well as the Oracle Fusion Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) suite of products. Also by optimizing on Oracle database, PeopleSoft customers can gain greater value from Oracle database features and solutions such as Exadata, Real Application Clusters, and Active Data Guard. Even with these efforts to optimize on Oracle database, PeopleSoft plans on retaining the ability to run on non-Oracle technology platforms. Going forward, investments in areas like this will continue to offer a predictable and cost-effective way for users to maximize their investments with Oracle. PeopleSoft customers will find that IT and business analyst skills used today on PeopleSoft can also be used in the future and in conjunction with Fusion Applications.

(8)

PeopleSoft Technology Roadmap

Oracle continues to drive innovation into the core of the PeopleSoft suite with targeted annual releases of the PeopleTools application framework and corresponding adoption of Oracle‘s leading technology infrastructure. The new capabilities alter the way users work with applications and reduce operational costs through standards-based platform adoption and market leading lifecycle management tools.

Reshaping the Way Users Use PeopleSoft Applications

The web has changed users‘ perception of application user interfaces. The way users search for data, interact with data, view information, and take action on data has changed, and PeopleTools gives the applications the technology to support changes. With PeopleTools, the power of the web-based interface is available to PeopleSoft applications.

Much of this work is already done and is delivered in PeopleTools release 8.51. For current release details, please read the Release Value Proposition for 8.51. The future highlights of the powerful user interface include:

 Secure Enterprise Search – At the heart of the changes to the user experience will be a new searching paradigm. Users are used to robust search engines, content filtering, and being able to follow links quickly to take action; PeopleSoft applications will also support this type of experience. Building on the power of Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (SES), users will search with free-form text, and the result will pull information from across application pillars, Enterprise technologies, and business object types. Directly from the search results, users will be able to take contextual actions or be provided with simple navigation options.

 Context-Enabled Smart Navigation – Wherever a user navigates and whatever a user selects, actions will be available. Actions will be across pillars; users can take action from within the current pillar or take an action that navigates across pillars for a multiple instance

configuration. This offers a highly flexible navigation experience, which is required to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of each person who interacts with your PeopleSoft solution.  Rich Data Visualization – Today‘s applications should present data to the user in the most

appropriate format possible. This makes the information easy to understand, navigate and learn for even the most novice user. PeopleTools Rich Data Visualization capability allows data to be displayed and interacted with in a hierarchical format. HR application used this technology to build the Employee Org Chart.

(9)

The new PeopleSoft framework will enable users to initiate actions from a number of different contexts, such as a graphical organizational view, a search result, or a transactional page.

 Business Process Centric Collaboration – With the advent of embedded Enterprise 2.0 technologies such as Workspaces, Feeds, Wikis, Chat, Blogs, and Tagging, the PeopleSoft application suite will include an extended social computing platform that will increase business intelligence availability and decrease task execution time. To maximize the information available to users for making informed decisions, PeopleTools will continue to extend the configurable role-based framework, allowing users to access related information, external transactions, analytics, discussion forums, wiki content, documents, workflow, and related discussions from any transaction page using Related Content or from a Workcenter or Dashboard Productivity Based WorkCentersEvery organization has users who rely heavily on the information in their PeopleSoft applications. For these users, productivity is measured by the need to constantly navigate from one place to another and often back. WorkCenters break the barriers of navigation by creating a custom, productive user interface that is tailored to a user, role, or both. All WorkCenter content—items, worklists, actions, reports, and components—will be available in a layout that optimizes the user experience and minimizes mouse clicks. Now, an organization can quickly make any user a power user. The framework is based on processes, procedures, or otherbusiness requirements that are role-specific.

 PeopleSoft Applications Portal – PeopleTools will continue to invest and improve the way customers can aggregate PeopleSoft and external data in a common user interface. Whether they are using it to improve the HR self-service process or pushing out company news, the user experience will continue to improve.

 Dashboards and Embedded Analytics – Information is key to making strategic business decisions, and PeopleTools technology gives you the ability to access, view, analyze, drill down, and take action on the data that is most important to the user, regardless of the source or location.

 Embedded Analytics will let users create content from many different sources, not just your transactional system, and get the data they need. This information will then be displayed in a user friendly grid, chart, or graph and provide the ability to drill down into the details.

(10)

With contextual navigation, users will be able to personalize their experience by adding business transactions or Embedded Analytics to their dashboards.

 Mobile Support – The mobile workforce has shifted from a disconnected traditional application look and feel to an always connected anywhere/anytime smartphone and tablet community. PeopleSoft will cater to this community with ready applications, configurable dashboards that are certified on all popular tablets, and email-based approvals.

 Platform and device PeopleTools will continue to support customers‘ platform choices. Support for the most popular databases, middleware, browsers, and devices will continue to evolve as new technology becomes available. Current browser and table support is planned for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, iPad, and Android-based tablets. All popular mobile devices will be supported for email-based approvals.

Reducing Operational Costs through Standards-Based Platform Adoption and Market-Leading Lifecycle Management Tools

 Multi-pillar DeploymentSolving the complexities of managing multiple pillars is a constant challenge. PeopleTools will continue to invest in supporting multi-pillar deployments that will support single signon and the power of a single navigational model.

 Integrated Oracle Technology In addition to expanding the existing features and functionality of PeopleTools, Oracle is also helping to reduce operational costs by streamlining the

integration of traditional Oracle products with the PeopleSoft applications. These streamlined integration will reduce the complexity and time need to implement and manage these other Oracle products.

 Standards-based Integration PlatformEvolving institutional needs are placing increasing pressure on IT to deliver greater flexibility and speed. PeopleSoft Integration Broker is critical for IT initiatives geared towards enterprise application integration (EAI), composite

application development, and legacy modernization. High volume, improved performance, increased support for standards, and improved integration options such as RESTful web services will continue to make Integration Broker a superior integration platform for PeopleSoft applications.

(11)

 The PeopleSoft Integration Platform will make it easier to set up, administer, and discover integrations into and out of PeopleSoft systems. It‘s a big step moving forward geared to simplifying the task of administering all integrations with PeopleSoft systems.

 With new releases of the PeopleSoft application suite, additional certifications will be included for Oracle‘s industry leading Fusion Middleware platform components, thus providing a full range of solutions around business process management, services orchestration, and integration.

 Maximum Availability Infrastructure and ChoiceYour institution needs to be online 24/7, 365 days a year. If critical applications, servers, or data become compromised or unavailable, your ability to serve your constituents is jeopardized. Oracle‘s PeopleSoft Application Suite will increasingly incorporate and support innovative database and technology features such as Oracle Real Application Clusters, Active Data Guard, and Transparent Data Encryption, and Oracle‘s Exadata and Exalogic offerings. In addition, PeopleSoft will continue to allow you to leverage innovations to system and resource virtualization with increasing support for

virtualization of the production environment.

 Extending User Identity Across the EnterpriseTo manage the entire user identity life cycle across all enterprise resources, both within and beyond the firewall, PeopleSoft applications will continue to extend direct ties into Oracle‘s Identity Management suite of products. This will allow for a centralized and automated single signon (SSO) solution for managing who has access to what information across your entire IT infrastructure.

 Virtualization and Dynamic Provisioning PeopleTools will continue to provide production-ready templates that allow IT staff to get a PeopleSoft system online quickly or to dynamically add or remove PeopleSoft components from a PeopleSoft application. This capability will allow for elastic increases and decreases, depending on the load.

 Change ManagementOracle recognizes that one of the greatest costs associated with managing enterprise applications is determining how a change will affect a PeopleSoft system and its users. When software changes (that is, software maintenance, upgrades, and

customizations) are done to any application, system testing needs to be completed to ensure that the application continues to support the business processes. The PeopleSoft Test

Framework provides insight into how a change will affect a PeopleSoft system, and it allows IT to better predict, analyze, and manage system changes.

 Application Data Sets is another capability that simplifies the migration of application data between PeopleSoft systems. This will allow IT staff as well as functional administrators and business analyst to setup and configure application data in a test instance and migrate to production with a standard approval and workflow process.

PeopleTools and Beyond

Looking past the current releases into the future of PeopleTools shows much of the same innovation. From its initial release, PeopleTools has proven again and again its ability to adopt

(12)

new technology, platforms, and devices and bring the PeopleSoft applications forward. No other Enterprise Toolset has proven its ability to evolve and change with rapidly changing technology the way PeopleTools has.

Some of the changes being considered for future releases are:

 Advances in the User Interface technology, such as interactive grids that blur the line between analytics and transactions, new capabilities like drag and drop. Configurable page changes will allow end users to set up their pages in a way that is most relevant to them, without IT involvement or upgrade impact.

 As the mobile platform continues to evolve, PeopleTools will continue to certify and provide the necessary technology to leverage the platforms the way the Applications need.

 Analytics will be leveraged more and more, and we will see advanced seamless interfaces to OBIA, Essbase, and PeopleSoft with consistent data definitions across all systems. This will automate the process of generating analytic definitions using PeopleSoft Metadata and real-time information for business process activities.

 Improved collaboration as it becomes increasingly important to the enterprise. Continued integration of social networks and unstructured data into business processes. Simply the sharing of data between users and groups by extending tags to make it possible for end-users to add data elements to existing pages and business processes.

 Centralized management of all configuration data and personalization defaults across multiple PeopleSoft environments.

 Improved field-level security by user, role, data hierarchy, and jurisdiction with centralized audit management.

 Continued enhanced performance, scalability, and standards with Integration Technology. We will build on the initial releases of Integration Network to make it easier to manage, set up, administer, and automate processes for integrations in and out of PeopleSoft applications.  Significant advancements in infrastructure and deployment options. Look for more support for

private and public cloud deployment, resource scaling, and middleware infrastructure. PeopleTools has always been at the forefront of technology and—with the strength of Oracle technology behind it—will continue to be at the forefront for years to come.

For more information,

PeopleSoft Human Resources Management Systems 9.1 Feature Pack December 2010 Overview

PeopleSoft continues to develop the tools and capabilities organizations need in their HCM applications that allow for simplicity, increase productivity and lowered total cost of ownership. Such improvements will be enhanced in PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 and a subset will be added in the 9.1 Feature Packs:

 The ability to use the latest release of PeopleSoft Talent Management while remaining on prior releases of core HR offers customers the ability to enjoy robust Talent Management

functionality while continuing to use your current PeopleSoft HCM installation. PeopleSoft 9.1 Talent Management is currently available with core HCM 8.9 and 9.0. We will continue this strategy with each new release of Talent Management.

 A new Company Directory has been delivered to enable your employees and managers to search for people across the organization, see a visual representation of your organization based on a hierarchical structure you have defined, and enables users to initiate employee self service transactions from the organizational view. This will continue to be to be enhanced as a focal point for accessing key information in context across the enterprise.

 Matrix relationship administration will enable organizations to view and work in a dynamic environment by providing a configurable, secure solution to define the most complex relationships and hierarchies. This will allow greater flexibility where project oriented and dotted line relationships exists to provide access to not only view various types of relationships but also perform actions on individuals in these situations.

 Provide employees a customized, personalized, and complete view of their total compensation and benefits. Understanding their total rewards package allows employees to grasp the true value of their position within the company which is an important factor to improving

(14)

employee morale and productivity, retaining talented employees, and indirectly attracting new talent through employee referrals.

 Improve the capabilities and the usability of Employee and Manager Self-Service to provide a more user-friendly, streamlined experience. Our new Manager Dashboard will simplify HR activities for managers by providing an HR ―home page‖ that alerts managers to items needing their attention and provides a consolidated view of critical information about the employees in their organization.

 Similarly, a Talent Summary will enable managers to more effectively manage and interact with individuals in their organization by providing a holistic view of important talent information, such as job skills, career plans, recent performance history and compensation information.  Leverage the latest learning standard, SCORM 2004, in the Enterprise Learning Management

(ELM) application to provide enhanced navigation and sequencing capabilities and to meet the needs of those organizations, including the Federal government, that require their LMS to support SCORM 2004

 Stay in compliance with E-Verify integration with PeopleSoft HR to electronically verify employment eligibility by comparing I-9 information against records held in Social Security Administration (SSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) databases. New features will leverage the upcoming PeopleTools capabilities that will assist organizations to further define and streamline their business processes, consolidate the right information for the end user, and leverage the latest in Web 2.0 technologies. This will fundamentally change the way users navigate the system offering greater simplicity and brining information to the user in context.

 WorkCenters will increase the productivity of a specific role by streamlining and simplifying their work in a central place. An example of a HCM 9.2 WorkCenter is our Time and Labor WorkCenter that will be a one-stop-shop workspace (a single point of entry) to help a manager effectively and efficiently complete their time management tasks and move forward with the business flow through payroll.

 Leveraging new PeopleTools capabilities such as Activity Guides, Payroll for North America will continue to strengthen the Employees Self Service experience with the introduction of Paycheck Modeling allowing an employee the ability to calculate ―what if‖ situations for paychecks.

 Customers can define event templates to support complete end to end HR/Benefits business processes and ensure uniform compliance with business policy and rules when changes in your working life or your personal life result in changes in your benefits.

 Social Learning features embedded in ELM, such as discussions, wikis, blogs, will extend learning beyond the classroom and incorporate it into the everyday activities of a worker,

(15)

harnessing the internal knowledge of your workforce, improving their skills, increasing employee engagement and decreasing the needs for formal training.

 Consistent with today‘s best practices, mid-period evaluations will better support performance management as an ongoing coaching exercise between employees and their managers rather than an annual activity with this new functionality introduced in ePerformance.

 Continued investment in HelpDesk for Human Resources will enable providing service to and tracking cases for non-employees with template-based creation of Persons of Interests including applicants, retirees, spouses, attorneys, and third party contacts such as BPOs. Additional enhancements are planned for the HR knowledge base that will enable knowledge management and notifications based on content ownership, solutions to be created ahead of time and then become active or expire on a future date, and the automated ability to make portal content searchable from the knowledge base. And enhanced integration between PeopleSoft HCM and HelpDesk for HR enabling automatic creation of HR HelpDesk cases based on employee and manager self-service transactions submitted in HCM.

 Increase recruiter productivity with new recruiter-facing pages and a recruiter workcenter that will put key recruiting activities together with consolidated views of job openings and

applicants to let recruiters quickly get to their priority tasks. The funnel view of job openings will provide recruiters with an instant view of candidates in process and allows them to quickly take appropriate actions on candidates in each phase of the hiring process. In addition there will be improved usability for the applicant to make candidates aware of their progress through the application process utilizing a horizontal wizard. Clearly defined steps and application submission points will increase the successful completion of applications and enlarge the pool of candidates.

Looking Beyond

There are numerous areas PeopleSoft HCM will continue product investment beyond HCM 9.2 release. This will consist of developing and delivering on some of the proposed ideas and enhancements requests identified below based upon customer feedback and prioritization:  Continued development of role-based productivity tools to include more manager dashboards,

payroll workcenter, and more.

 Expansion of global support for sensitive data and global assignments.

 Deeper decision support with embedded metrics and analytics to support content supplied in manager dashboards or compensation analysis.

 Enhanced usability and process support with more embedded online help, additional XMLP forms, additional user reminders and alerts, auto-save for ePerformance documents, calc to pay for Pensions, and more.

(16)

 Deeper integrations with Outlook, recruiting job boards to support Federal customers, and additional uptake of AWE/delegations and HTML collaboration are all candidates for evaluation.

(17)

For more information,

PeopleSoft Financials Management and Supply Chain Management Feature Pack 1 March 2011 Overview

PeopleSoft Financials continues the focus on streamlining financial processes, automating compliance and controls and extending the support of global customers. The Finance organization has a keen focus on delivering quality financial information on a timely basis. PeopleSoft FMS provides integration to the Hyperion Enterprise Performance suite of products for efficient planning and execution of the budgeting cycle through Hyperion Planning as well as the creation and reporting of period end financial statements in XBRL to the regulatory bodies through Hyperion Disclosure Management.

PeopleSoft FMS continues to focus on making financial operations more productive in the critical credit to cash business process through enhancements such as Spreadsheet Upload for the Billing cycle. Financial controls are increasing in scope and depth leading to high cost overhead for most organizations. To do more with less, PeopleSoft FMS Feature Packs continue the focus on automation of controls through the extension and improvement of the graphical and configurable approval workflow framework across the Financials applications. PeopleSoft FMS delivers global regulatory updates for North America, Europe, APAC as well as Latin America to support multi-national customers.

A number of new enhancements will expand on the themes of Simplicity, Productivity and Lower TCO.

 PeopleSoft Financials will continue the focus on reducing complexity and costs to customers through high value integrations, improved financial operations management and automation of controls. PeopleSoft Financials is expected to integrate to Oracle IPM to fully automate the invoice settlement process through optical and forms code recognition. PeopleSoft Financials customers can leverage the power of the new Fusion applications through integration to the

(18)

Fusion Accounting Hub, which can provide summary and reporting capabilities where there are multiple ERP systems.

 In an effort to make finance more efficient, PeopleSoft Financials continues the effort to improve the customer and supplier self service applications to support reducing liabilities, DSO while improving the cash flow position.

 PeopleSoft Financials will enable core finance to become a strategic partner to the business by creating value with real time insight, maximizing value through productivity improvements and controlling value with additional automation of compliance and controls.

 PeopleSoft Financials plans to provide real time insight to managers to assist in managing the operation with real time, configurable operational metrics. Business users responsible for supplier and customer relationships will have visualization tools that graphically depict the business activity with the organization in order to make timely, strategic decisions. All users will have the ability to view the financial activity in a graphical diagram to support simple inquiries and reconciliation tasks.

 To drive productivity, PeopleSoft Financials will deliver role based, configurable ‗one stop shop‘ for high volume financial functions such as Workcenters for Payables, Billing and General Ledger.

 From a simplicity standpoint, PeopleSoft plans to provide a new expense report entry capability that leverages the latest in Internet user interface technologies. Additionally, a ―one-touch‖ expense report creation process that draws from various automated data feeds, and an interface that matches travel and expense documents will minimize the time required to accomplish essential, high volume business processes.

 PeopleSoft Financials will continue the drive to efficiently deal with control requirements. To that end, release 9.2 will automate business requests, approval and update of control data. There will be a continued focus on reducing system complexity and improving performance through business driven processing rules.

 Simplified workflow administration will enable organizations to drive down the costs associated with adapting to changing business processes.

(19)

PeopleSoft Enterprise Service Automation (Projects) and Asset

Lifecycle Management

With respect to the product direction for the PeopleSoft Enterprise Service Automation (Projects) and PeopleSoft Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) applications, Oracle intends to continue its focus on the themes of enabling (1) comprehensive support for managing an

organization‘s capital infrastructure lifecycle, (2) true enterprise project portfolio management, (3) a flexible services supply chain, and (4) comprehensive post-award contract and grant

management. Underpinning these four themes are the principles of simplicity, productivity, and a lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

Driving simplicity is a major element of the PeopleSoft Projects & ALM applications roadmap. New capabilities planned include:

 In the PeopleSoft Contracts, Grants, Staffing Front Office, and Project Costing applications, customers will find that new, business analyst-configurable exception alerts and role-focused analytical pagelets make discovering and addressing business issues before they become problems easier than ever before.

 Oracle‘s Secure Enterprise Search technology is expected to enable users of PeopleSoft Asset Management, Staffing Front Office, Resource Management, Project Costing, and other applications to navigate the software in an exceedingly intuitive fashion that minimizes or even eliminates the need to click through functional menus to find and update assets or resource assignments.

 For managing contractor work order tasks, PeopleSoft Services Procurement integrates tasks into the Microsoft Outlook 2007 task list, so that occasional users can review, update, or act on tasks in a tool most familiar to them.

 To ease the administrative work of asset maintenance schedulers and technicians so they can stay focused on coordinating and performing maintenance, PeopleSoft Maintenance

Management‘s simplified work order package printing automatically opens and prints work order file attachments.

Like any useful tool, software is meant to provide leverage so that organizations can accomplish more work with the same staff. The investment plan for PeopleSoft Projects and ALM treats productivity as a critical, if not the most critical, objective. New capabilities planned include:  For managing the services supply chain, which often relies on contractors, PeopleSoft Services

Procurement offers timesheet entry to maintain a history of adjustments made to a timesheet and enables an approver to create one or many adjustments submitted by a provider. This enables the manager of an engagement (where a provider is working on assignment) to review timesheets that need approval and adjust them as necessary if any time was reported

(20)

 The PeopleSoft ALM applications expect to help asset and lease accountants track and

properly account for ever-larger numbers of assets and leases in response to regulatory changes and enterprise complexity. With the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the

International Accounting Standards Board fundamentally re-writing the rules that govern equipment and real estate lease accounting, the PeopleSoft Asset Management and Real Estate Management applications are being prepared to help organizations adapt to the recordkeeping challenges. Also, continued investment in PeopleSoft Asset Management‘s capitalization and adjustment functions will aid organizations in scaling to handle growing volumes of assets, purchase orders, and invoices with ease.

 The management of facilities, distributed assets, and maintenance work orders is an area ripe for gains in productivity when mobile and visual technologies are applied. PeopleSoft Asset Management, Maintenance Management, and Real Estate Management are addressing that opportunity. Mobile device support for taking physical inventory of assets and for entering and updating work orders is an area receiving investment, and expanding the integrations offered by PeopleSoft Asset Management and Real Estate Management for interacting with Oracle‘s AutoVue and Oracle ISV partners‘ visualization technologies will drive real productivity.

 In PeopleSoft Grants, Contracts, Staffing Front Office, and other applications, an entirely new user interface paradigm called WorkCenters will change how users interact with and think about their work. With WorkCenters, contract administrators, job placement recruiters, post-award grant accountants, and other key roles in an organization will have a single console from which they can easily monitor, analyze, and interact with sets of data. Configurable, personalized data filters and pagelets combined with targeted mass update capabilities and quick-action windows will give each user an intuitive command center to manage the vast majority, if not all, of their daily work.

In an increasingly competitive and regulated business environment, PeopleSoft applications customers require a solution that continues to lower the TCO associated with operating it while it expands its abilities to support the capital infrastructure lifecycle, enable true enterprise project portfolio management, facilitate a flexible services supply chain, and administer a pool of revenue contracts or grants. To lower TCO, the roadmap for the PeopleSoft Projects and ALM

applications is one that involves both knitting together the technologies and tools that span an array of functional domains and transferring more power and responsibility for configuring applications into the hands of business users.

 True enterprise project portfolio management becomes possible via business user-configurable integration of PeopleSoft Program Management and Project Costing with Primavera P6 and Oracle Project Analytics dashboards.

 Lowering the cost of building and maintaining a flexible services supply chain is facilitated through delivered integration of PeopleSoft Staffing Front Office with external resume parsing and job board solutions and PeopleSoft Services Procurement‘s new web services, which

accept timesheet data in an HR-XML-compliant format from suppliers‘ systems, and automated notifications regarding the status of the timesheet data.

 Targeted, easily understood and configured frameworks enable organizations to rapidly adapt to changing business and regulatory demands. PeopleSoft Asset Management‘s dynamic bonus depreciation framework can extend or support new bonus depreciation as soon as tax legislation is enacted.

 For project-driven organizations, PeopleSoft Project Costing‘s variance pricing and vast new sub-system and pricing summarization architecture not only simplify data administration but also provide re-pricing of massive volumes of transactions that were priced with provisional rates or the wrong rate without the assistance of IT.

This empowering of the business accelerates business agility while lowering the cost associated with it.

PeopleSoft Supplier Relationship Management

It is no secret that significant cost savings can be achieved through disciplined management of supply management processes and sourcing decisions. Whether it is balancing the right mix of strategic suppliers, or streamlining internal buying processes, PeopleSoft SRM delivers the keys to unlock savings opportunities within your organization. Building on the enhancements delivered in PeopleSoft 9.1, new enhancements planned for SRM include:

 Continued focus on usability enhancements to reduce training costs and increase requesters‘ productivity with eProcurement requisitions. We will continue to evolve the user experience to meet the expectations of users who regularly use ordering application such as other popular online shopping websites.

 Greater, more configurable, role-based security access and options offer flexibility to meet the needs of multiple industries, and multiple user sets.

 Expanded search results will make it easier and faster for requesters to find goods and services they are looking for, quickly getting them through the requisition process

 PeopleSoft SRM plans to offer document authoring capabilities for Sourcing events in order for bidders to receive full disclosure of all agreement terms and conditions related to the negotiated event, with the opportunity to collaborate on the document. The agreement will automatically carry forward to the awarded contract or purchase order to streamline the contract lifecycle process.

 For government agencies that run sourcing events, technical and cost proposals must remain physically separate upon submittal. Strategic Sourcing‘s Segregation of Duties enhancements ensure the equal opportunity integrity of procurements by allowing complete evaluation of technical components by one group of individuals before cost factors are opened and evaluated by a completely different group of people. Reviewers and analyzers of technical bid responses should not have access to cost factors, and reviewers and analyzers of cost bid responses should not have visibility into technical bid factors.

 Enhancements planned for self-service supplier catalog maintenance help ensure the

availability of the most up-to-date catalog and price lists for eProcurement requisition ordering. Offloading the catalog maintenance activities to suppliers frees buyers‘ time to focus on more strategic activities, while still ensuring catalog updates route through internal approvals  PeopleSoft SRM plans to reduce the need for paper forms and manual processes for

onboarding suppliers. In addition, buyers and suppliers can easily maintain diversity, insurance, and other supplemental information to accurately report against supplier usage and track compliance to diversity programs.

 Other enhancements planned for PeopleSoft SRM automate the use of Item Substitutes on purchase orders and requisitions for backordered items, provide purchase order delivery

options to comply to X12 standards and conform to supplier delivery restrictions, expand the use of the approval framework to enforce spending limits for services invoices, and help managers and buyers make proactive decisions with improved visibility to procurement statistics.

 Additionally, industry-specific investment for Healthcare, Higher Education, and Public Sector will deliver a more robust industry tailored solution out-of-the-box.

PeopleSoft Supply Chain Management

PeopleSoft Supply Chain Management offers a comprehensive solution for managing customer orders, balancing inventory levels, production management, and supply chain planning. Planned enhancements include:

 Additional transactions for Mobile Inventory will be offered. Extending its comprehensive portfolio of inventory management and mobile solutions, PeopleSoft Mobile Inventory Management was recently released in the first Feature Pack in February 2011. This new application within Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Supply Chain Management suite, PeopleSoft Mobile Inventory Management enables users to enter and access information on inventory availability, process receipts and issues and do physical inventory counts without having to change station or work location. PeopleSoft Mobile Inventory Management streamlines inventory management processes and increases user mobility and convenience with the use of windows-enabled mobile devices and handheld scanners. Additional mobile transactions will be added to further extend this application.

 The SCM Supply/Demand WorkCenter introduces the ability to maximize potential revenue opportunities for manufacturing and distribution companies. The WorkCenter is an alert-driven component that notifies the key stakeholders of exception conditions in one central place. The manager or stakeholder can then determine the cause of the exception using analytics with information from the Inventory, Planning, Purchasing and Customer Order Management applications. The manager can use drill-down capabilities to go to the specific transactions affected by the exception and use mass update capability to resolve the exception condition. The workbench can also be used to collaborate with the different stakeholders to jointly decide the best action.

 Embedded Analytics and Related content pages are also under consideration to assist the customer service representative (CSR) to maximize customer satisfaction. CSRs will have immediate access to the analytics and related content while doing the task at hand. For example, a CSR can click to see the average days to fulfill for that specific customer to best answer customer‘s question about delivery or review a graph of orders on hold summarized by reason and drill down to review the actual orders to determine what action should be taken to move the orders through the fulfillment cycle.

 The PeopleSoft Inventory and Purchasing applications have changes planned to align to new proposed inventory costing and accounting practices. The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the US-based Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) are working together to adopt a single worldwide accounting standard for all public companies. After the new regulations are approved, US companies would adopt the IAS standards for inventory accounting and reporting. These proposed IAS standards are being incorporated to support the future costing and reporting requirements.
