BY BUSThe regular bus service between Turin airport and Turin city centre has several stops enroute, including Porta Susa railway station and Porta Nuova railway station (final stop). We suggest to alight at Porta Nuova railway station.

BY TRAIN
A railway service connects the airport to Turin (GTT Dora Railway Station). Currently, transfers from this station to other trains are very inconvenient. We rather strongly suggest to take a bus from the airport to Porta Nuova.

The taxi rank is located on the left at the exit of the Arrivals level. Taxi fare to Turin city centre: about € 30

[1.2] MILAN MALPENSA AIRPORT
BY BUSThe best way to reach Turin from Malpensa is by bus, since there is no direct train connection. If you take the bus, alight at Porta Susa railway Station (bus stop "Torino -
Corso San Martino / Piazza XVIII Dicembre - Porta Susa"). Note that the Malpensa bus does not stop at Porta Nuova Railway station.

BY TRAIN
If you prefer to travel by train, please note that this will be a much longer journey. In this case either
- take Malpensa Express train from Airport to Milano Nord Cadorna, then the underground (in front of the station main entrance), green line, to Milano Central Station (“Stazione centrale”)
or

In both cases then

Some general remarks on local public transport:
For buses between Torino and Moncalieri you need a “biglietto urbano e suburbano” ticket that costs € 1.50 and can be bought at newsagents; you can simply tell the newsagent “Bus Moncalieri” and she/he will understand

Ticket validation
- For trains between Torino and Moncalieri, you need to stamp your ticket in a small yellow machine at the station BEFORE you get on the train.

BY BUS (Bus Number 67):
Take Bus Nr. 67 at the sidewalk right in front of Porta Nuova Station (direction Moncalieri). One-way ticket price: € 1,50 (urbano + suburbano ticket)
Where to buy tickets: at newsagents near the bus stop or inside Porta Nuova Station Journey lasts approximately 30 minutes.
At peak hours there is a bus every 7 minutes, off peak hours minimum every 20 min. You have two options for reaching the Collegio:
Option 1: alight at the bus stop named “Marco Polo” (23 stops after Porta Nuova Station, 1 stop before Moncalieri, piazza Caduti della Libertà). The stop is right after a multi-storey car park. Go back to the car park, enter it and take the elevator to the top (6th floor): it directly leads you to the city centre of Moncalieri. See Map 1 “GETTING AROUND IN MONCALIERI” for the approximate location of the car park (marked by E).
Option 2: alight at the bus stop “piazza Caduti della Libertà” and follow the directions on Map 1: it takes about 8 min to walk to the Collegio.

BY TAXI:
A taxi ride from Porta Nuova Station is about Euro 20 and it takes approximately 20 minutes to get to Moncalieri.
[3] HOW TO GET TO YOUR HOTEL
[3.1] HOTEL LA DARSENA

[I] From Torino Porta Nuova railway station to Hotel La Darsena By Bus (Bus Number 67):
Take Bus 67 at the sidewalk right in front of Porta Nuova Station, and alight in Moncalieri at the bus stop named “Palestro” (22 stops after Porta Nuova Station, 2 stops before Moncalieri, piazza Caduti della Libertà), which is right after the hotel (260 mt). You can ask the bus driver to tell you which is the stop “Moncalieri-Palestro”. See Map 3 for the approximate locations of the bus stop and of the hotel.

By Train:
There are train connections available during daytime from Porta Nuova railway station to Moncalieri railway station. Hotel La Darsena is within walking distance (1200 mt, 14 min walking) from Moncalieri railway station; see Map 3 “LA DARSENA- MONCALIERI TRAIN STATION” for directions. Otherwise you can take a taxi from the stand just in front of the station.

[II] From Torino Porta Susa railway station to Hotel La Darsena By Metro & Bus (Bus Number 67):
Make sure you buy an “urbano + suburbano ticket”, which you can use for the whole trip (Metro & Bus). Then you should proceed as follows
- take the Metro at Porta Susa Station and get off at the final stop, which is Porta Nuova railway station,
- take bus N. 67 to Moncalieri (see directions provided at Point [I] above). By Train:
There are connecting trains available during the day from Torino Porta Susa railway station to Moncalieri railway station. Hotel La Darsena is within walking distance (1200 mt, 14 min walking) from Moncalieri railway station, see Map 3 “LA DARSENA- MONCALIERI TRAIN STATION” for directions. Otherwise you can take a taxi from the stand just in front of the station.

[3.2] HOTEL GENOVA

[I] From Torino Porta Nuova railway station to Hotel Genova
Leaving the trains behind your back, take the exit on the left and you are in via Sacchi, were the Hotel is located. See Map 5 “HOTEL GENOVA – PORTA NUOVA STATION”.
[II] From Torino Porta Susa railway station to Hotel Genova
Take the underground at Porta Susa Station and alight at the final stop, which is Porta Nuova railway station. The ticket costs 1 Euro. Once you get out of the Metro you will be in front of the Main Entrance of Porta Nuova Station, which is 300mt from Hotel Genova. See Map 5 “HOTEL GENOVA-PORTA NUOVA TRAIN STATION”.
[4] HOW TO GET TO THE COLLEGIO CARLO ALBERTO
(WORKSHOP VENUE)
[4.1] FROM HOTEL LA DARSENA
Collegio Carlo Alberto is within walking distance (800 mt, 10 min walking). There are two possible routes:
• Route 1: follow Strada Torino southward, take via Palestro on your left and then via Alfieri on your right, which leads to the city centre. Proceed to the main square Piazza Vittorio Emanuele
II and then follow via Carlo Alberto for 50mt: the Collegio is in front of you. See Map 4 “LA
DARSENA-COLLEGIO” for details. Note that Collegio Carlo Alberto is uphill, so you have to climb a little bit.
• Route 2 (without uphill walking): instead of turning left on via Palestro, you continue to walk on Strada Torino for about 400mt; before a small roundabout, you can see a multi-storey car park on your left. Enter the car park and take the elevator to the top (6th floor): it directly leads you to the city centre of Moncalieri. See the Map 4 “LA DARSENA-COLLEGIO” for the approximate location of the car park.
[4.2] FROM HOTEL GENOVA
If you are staying at Hotel Genova, you need to go to Torino Porta Nuova Station and get a bus or a train.

[5] WORKSHOP INFORMATION
[5.1] CONFERENCE ROOM, REFRESHMENTS ROOM AND POSTERS’
ROOM
The conference room will be “Sala Gialla”. This is the first room on the right taking the narrow corridor in front of the main entrance of Collegio. Coffee breaks, welcome cocktail and posters’ cocktail will be served in “Sala Rossa”, which is right next to the conference room. The posters will be displayed in another room indicated by appropriate signs: the poster session will be on Tuesday 23rd June in the afternoon and posters will stay on display until the end of the Workshop.
[5.2] LUNCHES
Lunches from Monday 22nd June to Thursday 25th June (included in the registration fee) will be served at the restaurant “Al Castello” (see Map 2 “RESTAURANT AND PUBS”). A fixed menu has been arranged and those of you who opted for vegetarian meals should simply tell it to the waiters. You will find 4 lunch-coupons in your conference bag: please give one coupon each day to the waiter. Moreover, please make sure you reach the restaurant between 13.00 and 13.30.
[5.3] SOCIAL DINNER
The social dinner will take place on Wednesday 24th June in Pollenzo’s Agency, located in the outskirts of Turin, which also hosts the University of Gastronomic Sciences (see
http://www.albergoagenzia.it/welcome_eng.lasso). Two coaches will be arranged for transportation of participants. The meeting is at 6.15pm sharp in front of the Collegio and we will go together to the bus pick up point, where the coaches will wait for us. On the way back (around 11pm) both buses will first stop first in Piazza Caduti della Libertà and then in front of Hotel La Darsena. Only one bus will make a further stop in front of Torino Porta Nuova Station. Please make sure you get on the right bus if your accommodation is in Turin city centre.
[5.4] INTERNET CONNECTION
A few desktops with internet connection will be available in “Camerata 1”: signs will indicate how to get there. Moreover, participants, who are willing to connect with their laptops to the wireless network at the Collegio, can request username and password at the registration desk.
[5.5] INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER PRESENTERS
Poster presentations will be located in a large room which will be open from the morning of Monday 22nd June for you to place your poster; please make sure you have placed the poster before 4.30pm of Tuesday 22nd. We suggest to leave the poster hanging in the poster room until the end of
