practice management seminars every month! Here’s how you

can use this packet to register for every event that interests you.

1. Look through this event guide and select the events that you

wish to attend.

2. Note the Event Number at the bottom of each event listing.

CPR Classes With SCCDS

A Licentiate need only take an approved CPR course once during the two-year renewal period. Th e American Heart Association CPR card is valid for two years. Th ere will be no grace period allowed after the expiration date of a recertifi ca-tion course.

Mari is the Human Resource Hotline Manager at the California Employers Association. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organization Communications from CSU Sacramento and her PHR from the Society for Human Resource Management. Before joining CEA, Mari spent ten years working as a HR Manager for a major contract manufacturing company and a Fortune 500 software development company.

An outgoing and energetic trainer, Mari also supports CEA by conducting onsite training and assists the Regional Directors in supporting their members.

This course is NOT for beginners and is NOT for the x-ray licensure exam.

Your instructor, Donna Lizardo, has over twenty years’ experience in the dental fi eld. She has been teaching Dental Assisting for six years and is currently employed with Santa Clara County Offi ce of Education. She has her RDA and teaching credential in Health Science. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with students and staying active in the fi eld by assisting in the summer months. Do you have a staff member that could benefi t from some expert hands-on training to improve their x-ray skills? Does your staff have trouble with closed contacts, cone-cuts, endodontic exposures, elongation, or other issues? Then we have the class for you! Your staff will spend a full day here at the Society taking

digital x-rays and honing their current skills with a veteran dental assistant and

teacher. This course is great for staff that needs more practice at certain skills.

Non-RDA dental assistants are required by the Dental Board of California to take an 8-hour training course in Infection Control and a certifi ed 2-hour Dental Practice Act course. Th is program satisfi es these requirements. Th is course consists of 4 hours of online study that must be completed prior to the 4 hours in-class. In addition to these courses, an American Heart Association or American Red Cross-approved Basic Life Support course is also required. Check-in begins at 7:00 am.

All LICENSED dental professionals are required to take Infection Control and Dental Practice Act (DPA) courses in order to renew their licenses every two years. OSHA training is also required for all staff once per year. Th is course satisfi es all 3 requirements.
