To be eligible for Business Choice, your customer has to be able to answer “Yes” to three simple questions. Your customer will also need to furnish you with a copy of an eligible business document to verify their small business ownership.

FILING A CLAIM

To file a successful GM Business Choice claim, follow these simple but very important steps:

•

Access GM Global Connect; this requires a valid user name and password

•

Click the Workbenches link in the upper left hand corner.

•

Click on Business Administration, then click on the Sales and Incentives link

•

Next click the GM Business Choice link

•

Click the Claims tab, and then click Submit a New Claim located on the right navigation

•

The next step of the process is to complete the online claim submission:

– This step includes a number of screens with fields for inputting customer and vehicle information.

– Review all the information entered to be sure it is accurate and click the Submit Claim button at the bottom of the screen. This will generate hard copies of the following forms:

Note: This form provides your customer with the program requirements and will also help your dealership process Maintenance Plan claims.

The final step in the process is to make sure all documents are signed by an authorized member of dealership management and the customer

The customer must be provided a copy of the fully signed GM Business Choice Customer Acknowledgement form

•

Copies of the fully signed Customer Incentive Acknowledgement and GM-Non Disclosure of Parts forms must be retained in the deal jacket for audit purposes.

•

To validate the upfit has been completed the deal jacket must also include copies of the internal RO or invoice of the upfit installed on the unit.

The Business Maintenance Plan is activated when the GM Business Choice claim for that vehicle is submitted. The clock on the 2-year or 30,000 mile Business Maintenance Plan eligibility starts when the unit is reported delivered in CDR.

Note: To enable your dealership to easily obtain the

customer’s signature on the GM Business Choice Customer Acknowledgement form, the GM Business Choice claim submission

must take place prior to or at the time of delivery.

To: Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac Dealers and Medium Duty Service Centers

DESCRIPTION:

GM's parts warranty is an important part of the value proposition when a consumer decides to have GM recom-mended service parts installed on their vehicle. The parts warranty policy has been a mileage limitation of 12,000 miles and a corresponding time limitation of 12 months for parts installed by a GM Dealer. Parts sold over-the-counter had a warranty limited by time of 12 months, but not mileage. In the interest of improving the value proposition and reducing the complexity of administering parts warranties, GM is simplifying the Standard Parts Warranty to cover 12 Months regardless of the mileage. Dealer Parts and Service personnel can offer the consumer the same simple warranty explanation whether the part is installed by the dealer service department or sold over-the-counter.

INCENTIVE:

Effective January 1, 2013, the 12,000 mile limitation for warranty, on service parts installed by an authorized GM dealer, will be eliminated. We will continue to offer specialized warranties on selected product lines that require additional coverage for both competitive marketing and peace of mind for our customers.

EFFECTIVE DATE:

The new warranty will be in effect on all parts purchased by consumers on, or after, January 1, 2013. All parts purchased by consumers prior to January 1, 2013, will retain the warranty in place at the time of sale.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The warranty change covers all parts sold through your Dealer's Service Department, Body Shop, as well as over-the-counter Parts Department transactions.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

• The Policy and Procedure manuals will be updated to reflect the changes. • All parts purchased prior to January 1, 2013, will continue to be covered by the warranty for the specific

product at time of sale.

• All Customer Care and Aftersales Marketing material will be changed to reflect the new warranty guidelines.

• All unique warranty applications (exp: DuraStop Brakes) will require proof of purchase and installation is still required. Applicable warranty guidelines should be followed according to the Service Policies and Procedure Manual.

Getting enrolled in earnPOWER

The user must have a GlobalConnect ID and must be given access to the earnPOWER option. This is controlled by the dealership GlobalConnect administrator (PSC- Partner Security Coordinator). The user must log into GlobalConnect and make sure their profile is complete including their Social Security #. Once the above is complete, the user needs to pick the earnPOWER selection from GlobalConnect. The earnPOWER application can be found in the Sales, Service, or Parts sections. This will put them in the first screen of their profile. Once they complete their profile, they have an earnPOWER account and will be able to see the promotion(s) under the Actions Items tab the next day. Selecting this the following day enrolls them in the program and they can begin submitting claims.

Troubleshooting:

Cannot enroll in earnPOWER web site: • Does user have GlobalConnect ID?

• Is all GC profile information complete including Name and SS #

Does not see the promotion under action tab to enroll: • Does the profile contain a unique (not shared)

email address?

• It will take overnight to see this once the person is set up in GC.

Does not see the program under the national tab:

• Did they click on Enroll now on the Action Items tab by clicking the specific promotion and clicking the Enroll now link in the access panel?
