Preface

Manual Description

This manual is applicable to NetNumen™ U31 R22(V12.11.20P01) Unified Network Management System (hereinafter referred to U31 R22).

U31 R22 is a network-level network management system based on the distributed, multi-process and modular design. It can exercise unified management over the CTN, SDH,WDM/OTN, Router,BASand Switch series of optical transmission equipment from ZTE.

Introduction

This manual is NetNumen U31 R22 (V12.11.20P01) Unified Network Management System Documentation Guide. It contains the following contents:

1.1 Composition of the User Documentation

User documentation is a set of technical manuals delivered with the product.

The U31 R22 user documentation includes the description documents, process documents, and reference documents, which will be described in the following sections.

1.2 Description Documents

The U31 R22 description documents include the documentation guide, northbound interface user guide, and local craft terminal user guide.

2.1 Publication Forms of User Documentation

2.1.1 Paper Copies

The paper copies of the user documentation are delivered to customers with corresponding product. The quantity of delivered copies depends on the contract content.

2.1.2 Electronic Documents

ZTE provides the following three types of electronic user documents: l Electronic version of user documentation and CD

l Electronic periodical Maintenance Experience

l Irregularly-released electronic documents on special issues

Publication on CD

The user documentation CD is delivered to customers with corresponding product together. The quantity of delivered CDs depends on the contract content.

Publication on Website

The following types of electronic documents are available on ZTE's support website (http://ensupport.zte.com.cn).

l User documentation l Maintenance Experience

l Irregularly-released specials

Users can query and download needed documents on ZTE support website, which supports the following three query modes:

l Query according to document number or keywords l Query according to product model

l Query by using advanced search function

Tip:

Register on the support website for a login account and log on to the website before querying or downloading documents. Refer to the registration guide on the website for how to get an account.

Publication by Email

The irregularly-released specials are delivered to customers by Email ([email protected]).

2.1.3 Supplementary Documents After Version Upgrade

The previously released user documentation may be no longer applicable when corresponding product is upgraded. In such cases, supplementary documents will be delivered to customers. Customers may obtain the supplementary documents in the following two forms.

l User documentation CD

l Paper copy of user documentation

Tip:

Generally, ZTE prefers to deliver CDs to customers. If paper copies are needed, ZTE only delivers paper copies after a formal application is received and approved.

Meanwhile, customers can download the updated user documentation on ZTE support website.

2.2 Application for User Documentation

2.2.1 Applying by Contract

The quantity of paper copies and CDs of the user documentation must be clearly specified in a contract. ZTE will deliver the user documentation as required in the contract.

2.2.2 Applying by Email

You can send an Email to [email protected] to apply for needed user documentation CD, paper copy of Maintenance Experience, or electronic specials. Specify the documents you wanted, and attach your address or Email address.

Tip:

Contact with local office of ZTE for paper copies of user documentation.

2.2.3 Applying by Fax

You can send a fax to (86) 755 26770801 to apply for needed user documentation CD, paper copy of Maintenance Experience, or electronic specials. Specify the documents you wanted, and attach your address or Email address in the Fax.

Tip:

Contact with local office of ZTE for paper copies of user documentation.

2.2.4 Downloading Electronic Documents

You can download electronic documents directly from ZTE technical support website (http://ensupport.zte.com.cn).

The following introduces the downloading steps.

1. Start the Internet Explorer on your computer. Input the website address http://ensupport.zte.com.cn in the URL address bar, and click Go to open the web page of the support website.

2. In the User Center area, click the Register button to open the Agreement page to register on the website following the registration guide, if you does not have an account yet.

3. Input your account, password, and the verification code. Then click the Log In button. 4. Click the Documentation tab on the top of the web page to open the ZTE

Documentation page, which shows the Product Manuals sub-page by default. 5. Use any of the following three methods to query the document you want to download.

l Input the keyword of the product name or the serial number of the document in the Keyword field. Then click the Search button.

l Select the product category to open corresponding product list. Then click the product corresponding to the document you want to find. The page will list all available documents of the selected product.

l Click the Advanced Search link in the Product Manuals sub-page to open corresponding page. Input or select the filtering conditions used to search the document, such as document name, version, language, and/or keyword etc. Then click the Search button.

6. Find the document to be downloaded in the search result.

7. Click the link of the document to be downloaded to show the information of the document.

8. Click the Documents download button. Two formats of documents are optional: PDF or HTML.

9. Click the Save button in the pop-up dialog box.

10. Then select the path where the document will be stored and click the Save button. 11. After the download completes, click Close button to exit the dialog box.

Tip:

You can visit ZTE technical support website to download the latest user documentation as needed.

You can feed back you comments and suggestions on the user documentation or a specific document to us by sending an Email to: [email protected].

3.2 Feedback on Website

You can give a mark to the document you downloaded from ZTE technical support website and feed back your comments and suggestions on it.

The following introduces the steps of feedback on ZTE technical support website.
