2. How to use this Guide
This Course Enrolment Guide 2014 provides you with information on when and where the units available for study in this program(s) will be offered in 2014.
Enrolling in units for 2014
1. Read Section 3. ‘Program Information’ for information on course structure and unit sequence. Take note of any prerequisite or co-requisite requirements before selecting particular units.
A prerequisite is a requirement that must be met by a student before enrolment in a stipulated unit. It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the prerequisites for a unit prior to enrolling into that unit.
A co-requisite is a requirement that must be met by having already passed or being concurrently enrolled in an associated unit in order to be able to enrol in the stipulated unit.
If you wish to enrol into a unit for which you have not met the prerequisite or co-requisite requirements, please obtain approval from your Course Coordinator.
2. Refer to the unit listings in Section 4. ‘Units Offered in 2014’ to select your units. Take note of the study period in which units are offered.
3. You must refer to Administration & Enrolment on the ACU website
(http://students.acu.edu.au/332297) for information on how to complete your enrolment via Student Connect. ‘Administration & Enrolment’ also provides detailed information on managing your studies.
4. Log on to Student Connect and enrol (http://students.acu.edu.au/136953). Student Connect is a web interface allowing students to complete their ACU enrolment online.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Failure to enrol or re-enrol before the published due dates for re-enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/381148) may result in late fee penalties. Even if you are unsure of what units you need to enrol in, please ensure that you enrol or re-enrol in at least one unit before the due date. Enrolling in at least one unit by the due date will enable you to add further units, or amend your enrolment via Student Connect up until the final dates published in the Critical Dates for Variation of Enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/273880).
3. Program Information
This is a dual degree for high achieving students that combines Global Studies and its social, political, economic and cultural elements with an international study/internship. Students will also study the Catholic theological tradition with an ecumenical and inter-faith perspective, its relationship to other traditions and the potential for responding to the demands of the present and the future.
REQUIREMENTS TO COMPLETE AWARD
To qualify for the degrees, a student must complete 320 cp consisting of: 1. 120 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of ;
a. 40 cp from Global Studies Core Units
b. 40 cp from the International Study/Internship unit; c. 40 cp from Global Studies Electives;

a. 160 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Theology degree, consisting of Theology units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings for the Bachelor of Theology and/or Philosophy units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings for the Bachelor of Arts; including 20cp from University Core Units.
b. 40 cp from other units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings or from units available in any other course for which the student is eligible to enrol. For information on the duration of your course, and the requirements to complete your award, please refer to the Course Rules for your program.

The Core Curriculum
The Australian Catholic University Core Curriculum has been designed to focus on aspects of the University’s identity and mission. The units emphasises critical judgment, clear expression, ethical decision-making and concern for others, as individuals and as a community.
The Core is comprised of a total of five units: Two University Core units:

Study Abroad/Internship/ International exchange
The Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Global Studies offers an international education, which serves to integrate theory with practice. Students are recommended to study abroad (ACU has partner institutions around the world) and/or do an internship that provides international work experience and networks.

other than that for which they are enrolled
(a) if you intend to continue with your current course, you are not permitted to exit with a lower level award, however you may request a letter from your Course Coordinator confirming that you have satisfied the requirements for the relevant lower award; (b) if you do in fact exit with a lower level award and subsequently wish to resume your
studies in the higher level course, you will be required to reapply for admission to that course in order to resume your studies.
(c) if you intend to continue in a dual degree, you cannot exit with a single level award, but you may request a letter from the Course Coordinator confirming that you have satisfied the requirements for the relevant single award.
