Answer:

No, it is unknown.

3. Question:

Answer:

The existing fence can be re-used or, if cheaper, new fencing of equal gauge

and profile can be supplied and installed.

Are there any suspended solids in the water?

Answer:

Is there hydro in the buildings?

Answer:

There is no hydro in Building #1. There is hydro in Building #2.

NOTE: The Owner will arrange to have the hydro disconnected. The Owner

will arrange to have the hydro relocated from the pole to the Parks Storage

building.

5. Question:

Are the utilities to be disconnected at the property line?

Answer:

Refer to Appendix G Revised #8. “All utility services are to be removed and

capped/disconnected at/to the property line. The Contractor is responsible for

arranging all utility locates.”

6. Question:

Will the gas pipe at Building #1 be removed?

Answer:

The Owner will arrange to have the gas service removed.

7. Question:

What is the depth of the basement in Building #1?

Is the basement in Building #1 a full basement?

Answer:

There is a full basement under the entire building.

9. Question:

Is Area #1 inclusive of Building #2 as shown on the drawing? And is the area

of Building #2 to be paved?

Answer:

Area #1 includes the area of Building #2. The area of Building #2 is to be

paved.

10. Question

Seeing that the basement of Building #1 is 5' away from the infrastructure

(telephone, water and gas), will there be a provision to leave the bottom 4ft of

one wall to retain and protect these utilities?

APPENDIX G – BID REQUEST DELIVERABLES

REVISED

1. There are two buildings to be demolished on the site. One is a former public utilities building, to be known as Building #1 and the other building is a former Town of Simcoe fire association storage building, to be known as Building #2.

2. Building #1 is a 1000 sq. ft. one storey brick building with a shingled hip roof. The building has a full basement, which contains approximately 10’ of water. See attached Water Sampling and Chemical Testing Report, Peto MacCallum Ltd. Attachment ‘A’

3. Building #2 is a 1300 sq. ft. one and a half storey brick building with a shingled gable roof. There is no basement.

4. Both buildings are situated at the corner of Victoria and Pond Streets in SImcoe. See drawing and site location on Attachment ‘D’.

5. The Contractor will provide all labour, materials and equipment to deconstruct, demolish and remove the two identified buildings, including foundation, walls, roof assembly, floors, wiring, piping, windows and all building contents and any other materials and debris found within the buildings at 73 Victoria St., Simcoe, ON.

6. The fenced area between the two buildings will be referred to as Area #1. All concrete pads and vegetation within Area #1 shall be removed.

7. The Contractor shall obtain and pay for a Demolition Permit and any other necessary permits and comply with all conditions. See Attachment ‘C’ - Demolition Permit Application Checklist for requirements.

8. All utility services are to be removed and capped/disconnected at/to the property line. The Contractor is responsible for arranging all utility locates.

9. The site must be secured by fencing throughout the project. At the end of each work day, the Contractor must leave the site in a safe condition to restrict access and to ensure that no parts are in danger of falling or toppling.

10. A Pre-Demolition Designated Substances Survey has been completed for each building and the Report is attached as part of Appendix G. See Attachment ‘B’.

11. The Contractor will be responsible for the removal and disposal of all hazardous materials.

Asbestos removal must be completed prior to demolition. The County will perform, at its own cost, milestone inspections by an environmental consultant. These may include an inspection prior to the start of the abatement, one during abatement, and one final inspection when asbestos remediation is complete.

12. The use of explosives is not permitted.

13. The Contractor shall properly dispose of all materials in accordance with all applicable laws, codes, by-laws and legislation.

14. The Contractor must provide a Bill of Lading which will serve as confirmation that hazardous waste and asbestos waste were disposed of at an appropriate Landfill.

16. Building #1 – The foundation walls are to be removed to 4’ below grade and the remaining 8’ of walls will stay. The foundation floor slab is to be completely broken up into small chunks to allow for drainage. The excavation shall be backfilled with clean imported granular sand backfill material to ground level and compacted to 95 SPMDD. The site of the demolition shall be levelled to match existing grades in an acceptable manner to avoid low areas and to provide positive drainage. A minimum of 12” of granular ‘A’ shall be applied.

The hydro pole at the south east corner of Building #2 shall be removed and disposed of. The Owner will have all hydro lines removed.

19. Existing fences shall be re-used to enclose the site. 20. Sale of Materials:

Salvage from the demolition shall not be sold from this project site. The Contractor may sell materials that are salvaged from this project provided that:

• The salvageable materials are stock piled at the Contractor’s yard. • The Contractor is completely responsible for all sales.

21. The Owner is also requesting a mandatory optional price to supply and apply asphalt to Area #1: • Apply 3” of HL3 asphalt mix.
