MEasURE to IMPRoVE
Business advisors and management consultants have often advised that “if you want to improve something – measure it!”. If the measurement is one where staff can have an influence, then keeping them aware of the current situation will enable them to monitor its’ progress and influence the outcome. For example, recall success rates improve when they are measured. Staff become aware of the statistic and remember to mention the importance of regular eye examinations to patients.
