The SWI Story

Take two teachers and an adidas product designer and you have the start of the SWI story back in 2000. From day one we’ve been on a mission to make school uniform and sportswear that’s fit for purpose with innovative designs, innovative fabrics and customer service that’s second to none. That’s why today, SWI is one of the leading school uniform and sportswear companies in the UK.

What customers say about SWI...

Bright Tribe Group

‘Bright Tribe went through an extensive tender process to select a Uniform and Sports kit supplier for all of our future academies. We selected SWI due to their innovative approach, experience in the industry and passion to manage the whole process of the Uniform/Sports kit change as well as offering a number of platforms for the longer term supply.

We have just completed the first whole School Uniform change and despite a number of challenges SWI have managed the process exceptionally well. From designing the uniform to sizing the students and delivering individually bagged orders in a format that made it very easy to hand out, SWI managed the entire process in restricted timeframes with an eye on potential issues at all times. Furthermore, all students had the opportunity to exchange their garments with SWI if they required a different size following the roll out, which has made a lot of parents feel very comfortable about the whole process.

This has all been completed in an exceptionally quick timescale, from sizing the students during the first week of March all stock was delivered and exchanges completed by end of first week of April meaning all of our students will be in their new, smart uniform after Easter.

Throughout the process SWI have been forward thinking, anticipated all issues and advised coherently based on their wealth of experience to ensure the transition was as smooth as possible - I don’t believe our process would have been so seamless had we opted for a different Uniform provider during our tender process and as a result I would not hesitate to recommend SWI as an excellent supplier for other Academies.

We are currently working on new projects with SWI following on from our first Academy this year and know that we can approach these with confidence thanks to the support of SWI.’

Opening a new school is extremely demanding on everyone involved. When it came to the design and purchasing of our new school uniform, we knew we needed a supplier who would deliver outstanding clothing and one we could build a long term relationship with.

Right from the outset the service we received from SWI was flawless. They listened to exactly what we required and worked with us every step of the way to design and manufacture a uniform and P.E. kit that represents the ethos and culture of the new school.

As ambassadors of the school, the students are proud to wear their uniform and with the teachers and parents, believe the uniform and P.E. kits reflect the new values of Irlam and Cadishead College.

Irlam and Cadishead College

Irlam and Cadishead College approached SWI to rebrand the whole school. This included the design of a new logo, new college uniform and sports uniform for all students.

The initial process was to ascertain pupil feedback on the uniform and sportswear they desired to wear. SWI attended a pupil work shop, discussed uniform designs, fabrics and discussed the concept ‘fit for purpose’. This was to ensure all garments selected matched the school brief, achieve the appearance the college wanted to accomplish and counterpart the activities the students were taking part in, this was especially important for PE activities.

Once the garments were selected SWI mocked up designs for the students and staff to visualise in picture format. Once the designs were confirmed SWI embroidered garments with the new college logo for a fashion show at the college and for the new uniform to be on display.

The next stage was to size all students at the college for their new uniform. This process is outlined in our project plan which is described in the previous section.

The process was all completed within 14 weeks with every student in new uniform and sports uniform for the start of the new academic year. After the initial roll out SWI introduced an online ordering system for parents to order direct from SWI.

What customers say about SWI...

Lodge Park Academy

SWI completed a whole school change in under 12 weeks:

This involved taking over the current supply of uniform, transforming the Academy with a new look, and a supply system that matched the school and parent requirements which was not currently in operation.

“ We had been through a whole School change previously with another supplier and it was not a great experience, so picking the correct supplier was very important for last years whole school change of Uniform and PE kit. SWI presented a great solution and delivered exactly what they had promised.”
