Dual Degree Partner Universities

Background

Globalization has been a phenomenon for the past two decades. The business sectors have been striving to meet the demand that globalization creates in terms of goods and services being easily transported between countries. It is as if national borders are disappearing. From the academic perspective, universities have been urged to produce graduates who have obtained intercultural skills before they enter the job market. Therefore universities have taken steps to provide a curriculum that enables their students to experience study environments overseas. The aim is to assist students to gain better knowledge and understanding about how real business cases are being taught in universities elsewhere in the world. FEB UGM understands that providing these opportunities to study abroad means that its students will be more able to envisage global multi-culture. In order to prepare its students for this global working environment, FEB UGM encourages its students to experience international exposure. IUP students have the chance to select several types of international academic experience, such as summer schools, international conferences, international competitions, exchange programs, and dual degree programs.

IUP students are required to participate in one of those international exposures during their bachelor’s degree course. They also have the chance to transfer the credits they earn from the programs they follow when they are abroad. The terms and conditions for these credit transfers are set and regulated by each department. This information guide will focus on the outgoing dual degree program. IUP students can select their host universities for dual degrees from the following partner institutions. Students can choose a major in line with their study program at FEB UGM, or they are also welcome to choose an interdisciplinary major during the dual degree program. Detailed course structures, living expenses, and other related information are available in this booklet.

Overview

Our Team

Office of Admission and International Exchanges and Cooperation of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada aims to provide the international services for students, lecturers, and faculty members.

The increasing number of international students coming to study at the faculty is one of the results of academic cooperation conducted by several overseas universities. The number of international students coming from NIBES or AACSB member universities, and countries in Asia demonstrates that the Faculty is a suitable place for international students to take exchange and dual degree program.

It is, therefore, essential for the Faculty to have its own Office of Admissions, Exchanges, and International Cooperation in order to support the learning process and support theme mission of the faculty, not only for international students, but also for other students, and members of the Faculty.

Office of Admissions and International Exchanges and Cooperation provides international services as follows:

1. Assistance for FEB students who are interested to join exchange and/or dual degree programs abroad, summer school information. The service also includes academic counseling, transferable courses, entry visa, etc.

2. Assistance for International students who study at FEB UGM. The assistance covers:

Pre-arrival (exchange/dual degree admission application, temporary accommodation booking).

On arrival (airport reception, campus tour, UGM international student administration, immigration report)

Ongoing support.

Upon completion of the study, the office will assist students in getting their academic transcripts.

3. Organization of the International Academic Exposure for FEB students (short lectures and company visit to overseas universities).

4. Arrangement of guest lectures and visits from partner universities

5. Maintenance of academic agreements with overseas partner universities.

6. Assistance with the arrangement of international conferences, seminars, workshops, etc. for FEB faculty members and staff.
