integration

Enterprise services used to integrate a third party DAM tool

with SAP CRM.

Enhance the ability to manage and optimize the use of

internal and external marketing materials such as product

brochures, flyers, videos, and so on.

Leverage Digital Assets which are stored in a third party DAM tool

to assign them to CRM business objects such as Marketing Plans,

Campaigns and Products.

Digital Asset where–used-list

provides a list of CRM business

objects which are using a specific digital asset.

Integration in CRM Objects – Digital Asset

Assignment Block

Digital Assets which are stored in a third

party DAM tool can be assigned to

products, marketing plans and campaigns.

Within respective object an own

assignment block “Digital Assets” is

available.

“Add” on the Digital

Asset assignment block,

a search help pops-up.

After searching and

selecting a Digital Asset

in the search result, it is

listed within the

assignment block of the

respective CRM

Deleting Digital Assets in an assignment block just deletes the reference to the Digital Asset and not

the asset itself

View Asset: In a new window a preview of the asset will be shown

By clicking on the hyperlink in the column “Digital Asset Title” the external DAM-system is called and

the user can edit the selected asset directly on the external system (e.g. change title)

To make the changes visible to CRM immediately without refreshing the whole screen, the refresh

button is needed

Where-Used List is needed to search for all CRM Business Objects which are using a

specific Digital Asset which means which have a specific Digital Asset assigned

After creating the Where-Used List, all CRM

Business Objects which have the Digital

Asset assigned, are displayed. The different

objects are listed separately.

Select All / Deselect All

- the user can select all

relevant objects via marking each line or with help of

the buttons “Select All” and “Deselect All”.

Remove Digital Asset

- all assignments of the

selected objects to the Digital Asset are deleted. Not

the Digital Asset itself!

Assign New Digital Asset

- if there are related

Digital Assets to the already assigned Digital Asset,

the user can assign further Digital Asset to all

selected CRM Business Objects.

Replace Digital Asset

- if the assigned Digital Asset

needs to be replaced by another Digital Asset, the

user can use the function Replace Digital Asset.

Customizing Settings

The following settings are necessary to use the Third Party DAM Integration:

1.

Activate the Business Function „Marketing Productivity“ (or the industry specific BF

Intellectual Property Management)

2.

Add the „Digital Asset“ assignment block for the relevant CRM objects via UI Configuration

3.

Configure the logical port for outbound service calls (TRX: SOAMANAGER  Web Service

Administration)

4.

Define parameters for DAM Integration (e.g.Thumbnail size)

5.

Optional: Generate the search structure for Digital Assets (necessary if 3rd Party

DAM-System supports further search criteria)

6.

Optional: Implementation of BAdI for

Consistency check (default implementation for Media Industry available)

Services Used for 3rd Party DAM Integration

The following service-interfaces for outbound calls are provided as the basis

for 3rd party DAM systems to integrate in SAP CRM:

DigitalAssetCRMAllowedDigitalAssetTypesQueryResponse_Out

CRM reads the available digital asset types supported by the DAM system.

DigitalAssetCRMAllowedPropertiesQueryResponse_Out

CRM reads the allowed search criteria supported by the DAM system (e.g. read all search criteria relevant for

a specific Digital Asset Type).

DigitalAssetCRMVersionBasicDataByElementsQueryResponse_Out

CRM calls DAM to ask for Digital Asset Versions matching the search criteria. Result List contains attributes

such as Asset ID, Version ID, identifying attributes and URL to assets thumbnail and URL to assets detail

page (in DAM).

DigitalAssetCRMVersionBasicDataByIDQueryResponse_Out

Service to read Digital Assets which are assigned to CRM Business object and displayed in assignment block.
