.2 Slip resistance in accordance with ASTM D2047-96, Coefficient of Friction, minimum 0.60 for accessible routes.
.3 Standard rolling load performance to be 1000 lb. /wheel (Load applied to a solid 5" x 2" wide polyurethane wheel, 1000 passes without deformation).
.4 Single Source Responsibility: Obtain floor mats/grids and frames from one source of a single manufacturer.
.5 Utilize superior structural aluminium alloy 6105-T5 for rail components. 1.6 Delivery, Storage and Handling
.1 Deliver materials to the project site ready for use and fabricated in as large sections and assemblies as practical, in unopened original factory packaging clearly labelled to identify manufacturer.
1.7 Project Conditions
.1 Field measurements: Check actual openings for mats/grids by accurate field measurements before fabrication. Record actual measurements on final shop drawings. Coordinate fabrication schedule with construction progress to avoid delay of work.
.2 For recess application coordinate frame installation with concrete construction to ensure recess and frame anchorage are accurate and that the base is level and flat. Defer frame installation until building enclosure is complete and related interior finish work is in progress.
1.8 Warranty
.1 Provide manufacturer’s written fifteen (15) month warranty as required by Owner. .2 Provide installer’s written fifteen (15) month warranty as required by Owner. .3 Submit warranty in accordance with Section 01700 Project Closeout. 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 Manufacturers

2.4 Mat Frames
.1 Type 1 - Tapered Aluminum Frame shall be a 1 1/2"(38.1mm) wide 6063-T6 aluminum alloy and permanently positions mat for surface mounted applications. Anodized finish.
2.5 PediTred Insert
.1 Type 1 - exterior carpet Insert shall be solution dyed polypropylene fibers with 50/50 blend of 600/12-denier multi filament and 595/D1 monofilament. The texturized fibers have ultraviolet blockers and color as an integral part of the filament. Each carpet fiber and monofilament shall be fusion-bonded to a rigid two-ply backing to prevent fraying and supplied in continuous splice- free lengths. Waterproof fibers do not get soggy, rot, fade or stain. Carpet weight shall be 32- oz./yd². Colour to be selected by Consultant from manufacturer’s full range.
3 EXECUTION 3.1 Examination
.1 Examine areas to receive entrance floor mats and frames with Installer present. .2 Correct unsatisfactory conditions.
.3 Start of work indicates acceptance of conditions as suitable for a satisfactory installation. 3.2 Preparation
.1 Manufacturer shall offer assistance and guidance to provide a template of irregular shaped mat/grid assemblies to ensure a proper installation.
3.3 Installation
.1 Install work of this section in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and reviewed Shop Drawings.
.2 Set mat/grid at height recommended by manufacturer for most effective cleaning action. .3 Coordinate top of mat/grid surfaces with bottom of doors that swing across to provide ample
clearance between door and mat/grid.

3.4 Cleaning
.1 Provide Owner with a maintenance schedule which includes regular vacuuming and extraction that correctly matches amount of traffic the mat incurs. Submit in accordance with Section 01700 Project Closeout.
3.5 Protection
.1 After completing required frame installation and concrete work, provide temporary filler of plywood or fiberboard in recess, and cover frames with plywood protective flooring. Maintain protection until construction traffic has ended and project is near time of substantial completion. .2 Defer installation of floor mats/grids until time of substantial completion of project.
