Nursery News

Our nursery is growing! We would love your help by signing up to serve in the nursery at the Parents’ Resource Table. Please find a couple times that work with your family’s schedule. Adults must be a member and have a background check on file and children ages 10-17 must serve with an adult. Background checks are easy to do, so please call our office (706-210-9090) for assistance!

THANK YOU for serving in our church as it continues to grow!

Youth News

Throughout the summer, the youth will be gathering on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm. In this time,

we will be enjoying a meal, playing games, and participating in a Bible study together. During the summer, we

will be discussing the book Don't Waste Your Life by John Piper. This book will challenge us to live for the glory of

God in all things -- which is the call that God has placed on the life of each and every Christian. We are excited

to begin this study!

The youth will also be gathering together at least once per month for a time of fellowship (bowling, a day at the

lake, a lock-in, a game night, etc.). This will prove to be a time where we grow together in our relationships with

one another. Our first gathering will be on June 25th, from 1:00 — 4:00 p.m., at the Parish home, located at 609

Woodwalk Lane in Martinez. This will be a pool day, so be sure to bring your swimming gear and snacks to

share.

For this summer, the youth are looking for volunteers who would be willing to provide a meal on Wednesday

nights and/or to host the youth in their home for a gathering. If you are interested in hosting the youth in your

home for one of these gatherings or in providing a meal for a Wednesday night, please let Ryan Bigham know at

rbigham@christchurchpres.org.

Join us for a GAME NIGHT on June 19th

5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Covenant Hall.

Kid friendly board/card games only

Pizza will be provided!

Please bring a soft drink or dessert to share. RSVP with an email to Amanda Igo at

aigo@christchurchpres.org.

Women of Christ Church, we will be hosting a

brunch for new lady members on Saturday, June 5,

from 10-12 in Covenant Hall. Whether you are a

cur-rent member, new member or regular attender, please

make plans to attend. This will be an opportunity to

meet and formally celebrate our new lady members.

American Heritage Girls

Our American Heritage Girls troop wrapped up the school year with an end-of-the-year Court of Awards on Monday, May 17. We had a great evening of rewarding the girls for their dedication and hard work followed by food and fel-lowship. Our troop has grown by leaps and bounds this year both physically (we ended the year with thirty-seven girls on our roster plus several visitors who plan to join us in the fall!) and spiritually. We are grateful for our faithful leaders who have loved these girls well and we want to thank Christ Church for your prayers and support. Please continue to pray for these precious girls and for the leaders as we begin to prepare for next year.

Missions Matters : Cheryl Crocker

Cheryl Crocker

is a nurse who ministered for over eight years in the Philippines as a medical missionary with a Mission to the World (MTW) church-planting team. She returned to the U.S. in 2009 and now serves by preparing for and leading medical missions trips around the world. Cheryl also assists the Medical Department in recruitment of both medical and lay people to take part on these medi-cal teams. They provide medimedi-cal care and clinics to those in the communities around their churches/church plants that have no availability of care where they live. They have seen the Lord really use it to give the churches the reputation of loving and serving those in their communities, which opens doors with non-believers that may otherwise never be opened.

Ministry:

At the invitation of MTW missionaries and national church leaders, Cheryl recruits and prepares teams to assist in foreign church-planting efforts through compassionate care, prayer, and evangelism. As Christ demonstrated His concern for physical as well as spiritual healing in Matthew 9:35-37, MTW medical teams pray to have His eyes of com-passion for those who are “harassed and helpless” because they are without the Shepherd. One specific area of con-cern for Cheryl are the Women’s Heath Symposiums, which minister to women in areas where they are not al-ways treated with the respect and love that the Lord desires for them to have. They take medical people, counselors, Bible Teachers and those who just want to love on women and spend four to five days with women in different com-munities.

The need for medical missions is great. MTW cannot fulfill this need without the help of the medical community. Cheryl covets your prayers for herself, the medical teams, and those to whom they minister. She would also appreci-ate your partnership financially, and continues to encour-age you to go on one of these short-term medical or non-medical teams to see God at work throughout the world. Please email her at crock54@hotmail.com.

Prayer:

Trail Life held our Court of Awards ceremony on Mon-day, May 24th. Summer plans include our ever-popular Water Bottle Rocket Derby, which is scheduled for Satur-day, June 24. Other upcoming, exciting activities include Summer Adventure for Navigators and Adventures with rafting and zip lines.

Audio / Visual Help Needed

The Audio/Visual Ministry is in urgent need of 5 volunteers, two to join the sound crew and three to join the camera crew. Volunteers will be assigned one Sunday each month to help with either sound or cameras during both Morning and Evening Worship. Having some knowledge of sound or cameras is a plus, but is not required. Training will be provided, so, even if you are unfamiliar with audio and vid-eo, you can be a part of the important work that we do. Please contact Christ Church

A/V Director, Scott Doss, at aerievoices@gmail.com or call 706-373-1401 to let him

know that you are interested in becoming a part of this vital ministry.
