Legal information Warning notice system

This manual contains notices you have to observe in order to ensure your personal safety, as well as to prevent damage to property. The notices referring to your personal safety are highlighted in the manual by a safety alert symbol, notices referring only to property damage have no safety alert symbol. These notices shown below are graded according to the degree of danger.

DANGER

indicates that death or severe personal injury will result if proper precautions are not taken. WARNING

indicates that death or severe personal injury may result if proper precautions are not taken. CAUTION

with a safety alert symbol, indicates that minor personal injury can result if proper precautions are not taken. CAUTION

without a safety alert symbol, indicates that property damage can result if proper precautions are not taken. NOTICE

indicates that an unintended result or situation can occur if the relevant information is not taken into account. If more than one degree of danger is present, the warning notice representing the highest degree of danger will be used. A notice warning of injury to persons with a safety alert symbol may also include a warning relating to property damage.

1. Step: Install the ET 200S

Installing and grounding the mounting rail

1. Install the mounting rail (35 x 7.5 mm or 15 mm) with a length of at least 210 mm on a solid surface.

2. Connect the rail to the protective conductor. Stipulated cross-section of the cable connection to the protective conductor: at least 10 mm2.

3. Mount the various modules onto the rail, starting on the left side (hang in - swivel down - slide to left). Follow the following sequence:

– Interface module IM151-3 PN – Terminal module TM-P15N23-A1 – 2 x terminal module TM-E15N24-A1 – Terminal module TM-P15N23-A1 – 2 x terminal module TM-E15N24-A1 – Terminating module

2. Step: Wiring and assembling ET 200S

WARNING

Ensure the ET 200S is completely disconnected before wiring!

You may come into contact with live wires if the ET 200S is connected to the power supply.

Procedure

1. Wire the ET 200S as shown below:

4. Step: Insert the SIMATIC Micro Memory Card and switch on the

device

Procedure

1. If desired, you can insert a SIMATIC Micro Memory Card into the IM151-3 PN. Note

Delete the content of a SIMATIC Micro Memory Card with unknown content before you use it in the programming device.

2. Switch on the power supply for the CPU 317-2 PN/DP.

Result: Reaction of the status LEDs on the CPU 317-2 PN/DP: – 5V DC → lit

– SF → off

3. Switch on the power supply for the IM151-3 PN and the PM-E. Result: Reaction of the status LEDs on the IM151-3 PN: – BF → flashes

5. Step: Assign a name to the IO device

Procedure

1. In HW Config, open the dialog Properties - IM151-3 PN. 2. Enter the device name of the I/O device.

4. To transfer the name configuration to IM151-3 PN, you need an online PROFINET connection to the I/O device.

Select PLC > Ethernet > Assign device name to transfer the device name to the IM151-3 PN.

(17)

Learning units 3.5 5. Step: Assign a name to the IO device 5. When you use more than one I/O device, the system displays all I/O devices in the

Assign device name dialog box. In this case, compare the MAC address of the device with the MAC address displayed. Select the correct I/O device. On the Assign device name dialog box, click Assign name. The device name is saved in the IM151-3 PN interface module (optionally also on an inserted SIMATIC Micro Memory Card).

18 Getting Started, 08/2011, A5E00721427-04

6. The dialog box indicates the device name you assigned.

7. Download the hardware configuration to the CPU 317-2 PN/DP. Select PLC > Download to module.

The CPU automatically assigns an IP address to the IO device after it has received this download. The I/O device is ready for cyclic data exchange once the subnet is properly installed and the configuration corresponds to the physical structure of the I/O device. The BF2 LED starts to flash once you have downloaded the hardware configuration. The BF2 LED on the CPU and the flashing BF LED of the I/O device go out once the CPU has accepted the I/O device.

Leave the CPU in STOP until you have written the user program and downloaded it to the CPU.

Learning units 3.6 6. Step: Download user program and configuration to the CPU

3.6

6. Step: Download user program and configuration to the CPU

Procedure

1. Create the user program in the LAD/STL/FBD editor in OB 1. 2. Save the user program (OB 1).

3. Close the LAD/STL/FBD editor. 4. Select the "Blocks" folder. 5. Download all blocks to the CPU. 6. Select PLC > Download .

Example 1: Reading an input and controlling an output

STL

U E 0.0 When input bit 0.0 is set and U M 2.0 memory bit 2.0 is set, then S A 0.0 set output bit 0.0

Example 2: Transferring an input byte to an output byte:

STL

L PEB 0 Load I/O input byte 0 to the accumulator (bits 0.0 to 0.7) T PAB 0 Write bits 0.0 to 0.7 from accumulator to I/O input byte 0.
