What’s New with FL005 Series High speed Inputs(200KHz)
The FL005 PLCs have 4 high speed counter channels with two operating modes: 1. Single Phase Up-counters
2. Quadrature counters (4x)
It has two reset inputs and two configurable forced outputs. It also has 2 preset registers for compare purpose .These modes are suitable in many cut-to-length applications.
High speed outputs(200KHz)
The FL005 PLCs have two high frequency outputs of P.T.O./PWM type . It has output modes such as variable duty cycle mode, Pulse/Dir Mode, CW/CCW Mode, Fixed Pulse Mode. This output can be used to drive a high switching frequency servo as well as stepper motor.
Expandability
With the introduction of these models, FL005 series is now expandable as up to 16 IO modules can be connected to the base PLC.
True Remote Display support
FP3035-5 model can be directly powered from FL005 PLC. It can read and write directly to registers and devices in the FL005. It makes it a companion remote display in true sense.

4.1 Application conversion across the screen size:
FlexiSoft v2.3 allows user to convert the application across different screen sizes. That means, now user can easily migrate from a 4.3” screen to 7” screen or vice-versa without too much efforts. This feature is available for the products with screen sizes 3.5”, 4.3”, 5.7”, 7” and 12.1”.
4.2 Application conversion across the PLC products:
FlexiSoft v2.3 allows user to convert the application across different products of FlexiLogics series PLCs. That means, now user can easily migrate from a FL010 to FL005 and vice-versa without too much efforts.
4.3 Ladder debugging for Native programming environment:
FlexiPanels and FlexiLogics series product now supports native ladder debugging. This functionality is useful tool for debugging simple to complex ladder logics with step by step debugging. Maximum 8 breakpoints are supported and execution of ladder logic is controlled by these breakpoints.
4.4 Control of multiple process variables at a time using PID5 function:
FlexiSoft now supports PID5 instruction for FlexiPanels and FlexiLogics series products in native ladder programming which can be used to control process variables such as temperature, pressure, liquid level, flow rate etc. User can now take any number of PID5 instructions and can control different processes at a time.

For newly launched FP3 series, this feature is added by default.
4.9 Tag name and address search across the logic block with Native programming
environment:
With this version of FlexiSoft, tag name and address used in ladder instruction can be searched across the logic block for Native programming environment as well. Earlier, it was possible only with IEC 61131-3 programming environment.
4.10 Copy/Paste tasks across different task lists:

Till now the date object supported only two date formats: ‘DD/MM/YY’ and ‘MM/DD/YY’. This version of FlexiSoft introduces following additional date formats

Till now only base screens were imported using import screen feature. With this version of FlexiSoft, user can also import popup screens.
4.14 Upload ASCII data to USB stick:
With this version of FlexiSoft, user can upload ASCII data of a screen to USB stick. This feature is supported for FP5 and new FP3 series products.

Webpage header is now made optional, so now it has become user’s choice whether he wants to use header or not.
Screen Navigation pane is now made optional and user can select whether to have it or not.
The border around the webpage is also made optional now and user can select whether to have border or not.
5.2 Automatic removal of expansion tags when expansion is removed:
With this version of FlexiSoft, whenever user removes an expansion module, the tags related to that module shall be removed automatically.
5.3 More application memory for FP5 products:
With this version of FlexiSoft, application memory for FP5 products is increased from 10MB to 45MB.
5.4 Products are arranged under product series for selection while creating new
application:
We have arranged HMI, PLC and Gateway products under product series to make it more user friendly when user wants to select the model for creating an application.
5.5 Keep memory area range is increased:
For FP5 series products keep memory area range is modified to 1000 words from 100 words. Enough memory is available now to save complex program data whenever power goes OFF.
5.6 Improved DHCP implementation:
With this version of FlexiSoft, the DHCP implementation is improved and now it fully complies with RFC 2131.
5.7 Space around Data Entry and Data Display is optimized:
The unnecessary space around Data Entry and Data Display objects is minimized for Windows font.
5.8 Minimum and Maximum Range support for Numeric Data Entry with Float data type:
With this version of FlexiSoft, user can define Minimum and Maximum ranges for Numeric Data Entry object, also with Float data type. Till now it was possible for all other data types except float.
5.9 Node name shows actual product name:
Till now, the node name was showing ‘Operator Panel’ for any FP or FL model. With this version of FlexiSoft, node name shows exact product code.
6. Limitations:
1. S7-300 Driver is not supported for FP3 series, FP4030 and FP4020 and FlexiLogics. 2. Offline simulation may not work properly in this version.
3. Although FL5 expandable series supports 16 expandable IO modules, if user wants to connect FLD-HS-0808XX (High speed expansion modules) then he can connect 11 at a time. Trying to connect more than 11 high speed modules will exceed available memory for application.
7. Backward compatibility:
All applications created with previous version of FlexiSoft are compatible with FlexiSoft v2.3.
Note: While sending/copying a project from one PC to another, please include the corresponding
folder along with project file.
e.g.: User wants to send a project “MyProject1.pzm” which is saved at path “C:\Sample” then he has to send the project file along with a folder named “Myproject1” from the same path, i.e. “C:\Sample\MyProject1”
8. Known Issues:
1. Communication between GE SNP and FP30xx series products does not get established at power on. The communication only gets established when a screen is displayed. That means power on tasks will not work.
2. While monitoring, sometimes USB communication may break and does not get recovered automatically until power cycle.
