MA EDUCATION - TIMETABLE 2014-2015

Please see the MA Education booklet

http://www.worcester.ac.uk/courses/education-ma.htm

for full information

about awards, module requirements and pathways. See also our MA Education Guide for applicants:

http://www.worcester.ac.uk/documents/MA-APPLICANTS-GUIDE-14-15.pdf

The MA Education is a flexibly taught Masters course designed primarily for those who work or aspire to work in any field of education

and training and whose aim is to develop and improve their practice, enhance their professional profile and engage in rigorous

research and high level inquiry into their working context. The MA / PG Dip / PG Cert Education are generic awards which allow you to

choose and combine modules from any of the specialist pathways available. These specialist pathways are:

Special and Inclusive Education

Religions and Values Education

Leadership and Management

Leading Learning and Teaching

Mentoring and Coaching

Early Childhood

and

Church School Leadership

.

Please see the

MA Education booklet

for more detail of optional and required modules for the MA / PG Dip / PG Cert Education

and for details of the specialist pathway awards.

The National Awards SENCo

is a professional award and PG Cert, forming part of the MA Education (Special and Inclusive

Education)

Some students will continue to be enrolled in the old Postgraduate Education Programme awards (MEDD). New students – or those

who have chosen to transfer – will be enrolled in the MA Education (MAED) or one of its subsidiary or pathway awards. If you are

enrolled in an ‘old’ award, please make sure your module is prefixed with MEDD (not MAED) when you make your module selection

during online registration.

Students enrolled in the old Postgraduate Education Programme Masters award should choose MEDD4000 or MEDD4000A for their

Dissertation

The modules marked * are indicative of an award-specific optional module, however, students who are not aiming for that award,

may take an award specific module as an optional module if their programme of study allows for this.

Dates and room bookings are listed as known at the time of writing but could be subject to

change. Once registered for a module

you should receive confirmation of these details about a week before the module is due to start - if not please check with your

Negotiated Learning modules

Negotiated Learning modules provide a significant element of flexibility for the new MA Education, offering a way for students to

design a module’s learning outcomes and assessment to meet their specific needs. It may be completed as a 20, 40 or 60 credit option

within the limits of the award being undertaken. Negotiated Learning - Employment-based-based critical reflection and Negotiated

Learning: subject knowledge and pedagogy are alternative versions which may be available. Please consult your tutor in the first

instance if one of these alternatives seems appropriate to you.
