Check us out

at Cumming City Hall!

The Division of Professional and Continuing Education at our Cumming campus is excited to be moving to the top floor of Cumming City Hall. The additional space will allow the Division to meet the increasing workforce development needs of the region. By expanding our innovative programs, Professional and Continuing Education at UNG can assist individuals, local businesses, and government entities with increased opportunities for personal and professional success. Our mission is to deliver programs at the local level that allow for job growth and creation and provide businesses affordable, high-quality solutions to training.

In 2015, UNG Professional and Continuing Education served 6,173 participants through 859 courses and programs in the North Georgia region. Over 900 of these participants and 96 programs were located on our Cumming campus. With the expansion into Cumming City Hall, we expect those numbers will double in the next year and continue to grow in the future. The Division has examined Georgia’s “Growth and Demand” occupations and is working to build curriculum that addresses these critical needs. With the new location at Cumming City Hall, the Division will be expanding course offerings in the Healthcare, Computer Software, Project Management, and Leadership fields to allow area residents even more options for career growth.

Dr. Wendy Estes, Director of Professional and Continuing Education, states that, “The move is an exciting opportunity for our Division to be located within the central business district of the City of Cumming next to our government partners. This proximity will allow UNG Professional and Continuing Education to tap into the economic development activities occurring in the region and respond with courses and training programs that will enhance the growth of our communities. Our workforce development efforts will focus on retention and expansion of existing industry as well as serving as a resource for attracting new businesses to the area. We encourage and invite everyone to stop by the suite for a tour and additional information on how UNG Professional and Continuing Education can be a resource to you.”
