How to get your I-CAR
®
ID
An I-CAR ID is required to complete the affiliation process explained in Section Two. Before proceeding,
determine if you have an I-CAR ID for each technician participating in I-CAR training.
If you have an I-CAR ID for each technician then proceed to Section Two.
If a technician had a prior relationship with I-CAR and had a I-CAR ID in the past, DO NOT register again as
prior training records and information will not transfer to a new account. In this case it is better to recover the
technician’s username/password or call I-CAR Customer Care (800.422.7872) to have it reset.
Select one of the following scenarios to retrieve or create an I-CAR ID:
If you have been an I-CAR Student
and do not remember your username
or password, you can click “Forgot
Username” or “Forgot Password” on
the main page of www.i-car.com.
Click “Forgot Username”

Scenario 2: Technician can not remember I-CAR ID

If you do not know your I-CAR ID,
visit www.i-car.com and log-in to
your myI-CAR account with your
username and password. Your
I-CAR ID is on the main landing
page after login.
To retrieve a technician’s username,
enter technician’s email. The username
will be emailed to the technician.
To retrieve a technician’s password,
complete the requested information
and you will be prompted to create a
new password.
If you have never taken an
I-CAR class you do not have
an I-CAR ID, and will need to
go to www.i-car.com.com to
create a new account.
Click “Register” to begin
creating a new I-CAR account.
Scenario 3: Technician needs to create a new I-CAR
®ID
Once you fill out and submit your
new user registration form you will
receive an e-mail from I-CAR.
Click the included link to confirm
the validity of your e-mail address.
Once this is complete your
account will be activated in
myI-CAR and ready for immediate use.
Complete this new
user registration form.
This process requires a unique e-mail address,
and self-selected username and password.

Student Affiliates with Ford and
Authorizes I-CAR
®
to Share Training
Completing the student affiliation process allows I-CAR to share training records with Ford when courses are
completed. Records can only be shared for technicians that have completed the student affiliation process.
To complete the process follow these two steps. If a technician has already completed this process, please skip
to Section Three.
Step 1 – Go to I-CAR F-150 Program Landing Page
Click the Manage My OEM
Affiliation button.
On this screen, enter your I-CAR
®ID, Last Name, Ford STARS ID and
Dealership P&A Code. I-CAR ID
and Last name get verified by the
system. STARS ID must be exactly
9 characters and P&A Code is
selected from the dropdown list.
Dropdown has P&A Code and
Dealer Name sorted by P&A code.
Completing this authorization
form allows I-CAR to share
training records with Ford Motor
Company when courses are
completed.

Login using technician’s or
shop owner’s/manager’s I-CAR
Username and Password.
Registering for the two required F-150 I-CAR
®courses must be done separately. This section covers the
registration process for the 2015 Ford F-150 Structural Repair Training Course. Registration for I-CAR courses
can only be completed after completing Section Two.
Note: Shop owners/managers with I-CAR Training Manager access can register multiple technicians at once.
Otherwise registration must be completed individually for each technician.

If you are an I-CAR Training Manager, you’ll see the
Group Registration Shopping Cart where you will
be able to register multiple technicians.
A list of all available courses
will appear sorted by state
abbreviation. Select your preferred
option.
Click the button,
“Register”
Below is the individual registration screen. (Repeat
this step for each technician if multiple registrations
are needed.)
After you register and pay for the class, you’ll receive an e-mail confirming your registration and payment. An
invoice will be attached to this email.

In preparation for the new 2015 Ford F-150, Ford affiliated collision repair facilities will be required to complete two new Ford training courses developed by I-CAR in conjunction with Ford, specifically for the 2015 Ford F-150: The 2015 Ford F-150 Structural Repair Training Course and the Ford Aluminum GMA (MIG) Welding. These courses will train collision repair technicians on the skills and knowledge needed to perform complete, safe and quality repairs on the unique F-150 aluminum body. Collision repair facilities are required by Ford to have one technician complete both training courses by the end of August 2014.

2015 Ford F-150 Structural Repair Training Course (30G24T0)
The 2015 Ford F-150 Structural Repair Training course is designed to help collision repair technicians understand the significant changes occurring on the upcoming aluminum-intensive 2015 Ford F-150 model. Covering all topics aluminum, including an overview and aluminum joining methods, the course dives deep into vehicle-specific repair information, including rivets and rivet bonding, vehicle design and construction, and frame repairs. This instructor-led, 6 credit hour course uses discussion, education, and decision–making exercises to equip technicians to properly repair this game-changing vehicle.

Welding Training & Certification™:
Ford Aluminum GMA (MIG) Welding (30G25T0)
This is a six- to eight-hour welding training and certification course conducted at your dealership.
The event consists of four components:
1. Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment: 1 hour 2. Theory Instruction: 1 - 1.5 hours
3. Hands-on Practice: 1 - 2 hours 4. Certification Test: 1.5 - 3 hours

Step 2 – Download the Facility Preparation Checklist
The Ford Aluminum GMA (MIG) Welding course is industry-recognized because of the unique learning, skills practice and test experience. Although the actual training is completed in one day, the average time to complete the entire Welding Training & Certification process is typically two to six weeks. Factors such as shop availability and readiness to hold the event, I-CAR Instructor availability, and the outcome of the shop Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment all contribute to upfront preparation time before training day. Shop preparation in the weeks leading to the course is required to successfully complete certification on training day!

Prepare your facility
Use the Facility Preparation Checklist to confirm that your shop has all the required gear, equipment and infrastructure.

Request a Certificate of Insurance
1. Contact your liability insurance agent.
2. Ask to add I-CAR® as additional insured. (SEE EXAMPLE)
3. Request a copy of the Certificate Form.
Register
Download the Registration Form. Complete it and send it to I-CAR with your payment and certificate of insurance.
Schedule your event
An I-CAR representative will call you to schedule your event and conduct a preliminary assessment, including an in-depth discussion to help you prepare for your event.
Make final preparations
A few days before your event, your I-CAR Welding Instructor will call you to begin your Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment confirming your facility’s readiness.
Training day!
The day of your course will begin with your Instructor completing the onsite portion of your Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment. Participating technicians will receive welding instruction followed by intensive hands-on welding practice and coaching, culminating in the welding certification test.

Equipment & Facility Conditions: On the day of the event, if the results of the Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment deem the equipment or facility to be inadequate, then student training for that day will be canceled. All Student Fee(s) will be refunded and only the Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment fee will be charged. If required equipment and/or facility conditions are corrected, a new event may be requested and a new Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment and Student Registration Fee(s) will apply.
Facility Event Reschedule: If an event reschedule is necessary, I-CAR must be notified at least 3 business days in advance or Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment will be forfeited and only Student Registration Fee(s) refunded. A new event will need to be requested and a new Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment and Student Registration Fee(s) will apply. If no students show up on the day of the event, all
Student Reschedule and No Show: For an event with 2 or more students, I-CAR must be notified at least 1 business day in advance if a student reschedule is necessary. If notification is not received or a student does not attend the event, then that Student’s Registration Fee will be forfeited. A new event will need to be requested for students(s) and a new Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment will apply. If no students show up on the day of the event, all fees will be forfeited. I-CAR Event Reschedule: If I-CAR has to reschedule the event, I-CAR will make every attempt to contact you as soon as possible once a reschedule has been deemed necessary. If the shop is unable to reschedule, a refund of the Welding Capability & Readiness Assessment Fee and all Student Registration Fees will be provided.
