Area Description Notes

Web Pages maximum of 12 web pages A page is defined as a unique URL within the site.

Images Check all images to see that they display. Random testing of images to see that that they have Alt Tags

Menu That all menus correctly render and link properly to appropriate page

Maximum of 2 menus

Content That content on pages is well formed and is presented appropriately on the site. This includes spell checking and readability review. If tabs are used we check the content of those tabs for appropriate rendering.

Readability means that the content can be read and generally free of grammatical mistakes.

Links That all links are functioning correctly

Contact Function That the Contact Us page looks correct and a contact us message is received by the designated email address.

Browser Testing We test in the major browsers: Chrome, Firefox and IE on Windows. We look for improper rendering of content and the design elements of the site.

Mobile If your site is responsive we will test in 2 representative sizes of phones and tablets

Google Analytics Verify that Google Analytics is being placed in the HTML code.

Only if Google Analytics is used

Blog & Articles Verify that your blog is being rendered properly We test the page where the blog is displayed to verify the article is rendered properly with title and summary or full article.

Site Access Validate login / logout processes / lost password / registration process

If available to test

Site Account Profile Verify account/profile information is correct and where possible it can be changed

Favicon Verify favicon is displayed if available

SEO Verify that each pages has a title and description meta tags.

Devices & Browsers Add additional devices and browsers

External Data Test API information going in or out of the web site Will require client assistance to gain access to appropriate data stores and databases.

Functions Test all functions that are implemented on the site. Will require client assistance to gain access to appropriate data stores and databases.

Forms Test additional forms Will require client assistance to gain access to appropriate data stores and databases.

Document Downloads When the site has documents that can be downloaded by the web user, verify that the documents can be loaded with the prescribed level of security.

Security Test for access to restricted areas or pages. Where content and pages are access restricted, check to see that only those users or groups can access those restricted pages.

eCommerce Site Testing

Base eCommerce

Web Site Testing maximum of 12 web pages. Includes Base Web Site Testing processes.

A page is defined as a unique URL within the site. Not including product or checkout oriented pages. Used for the static pages such as home, contact, about, terms, etc.

Product Detail Page Verifies that the product display page is an appropriate layout and has all need information

Checks to see that price, discount, Buy button, product title, description and images are displayed

Product Search Product search results are correct (correct products are found) and display appropriately

Client assistance may be needed. Checks the list is correct, has the correct number of products, in the default order. Checks any on-page manipulations such as sort order and paging adjustment.

Filter If filtering is available, perform various tests to validate the filtering is performed properly

Category Pages Category pages work and display appropriately with the proper products

Checkout Simple checkout. Verifies that a product can be added to the cart and successfully check out with credit card payment and default shipping and tax situations

Does not test all possible shipping, tax, coupon variations. Price is verified to be accurate and that shipping and tax calculations are correct.

Customer Profile Customer registration and profile management.

Order Information Verifies both historical and current order information that it is accurate and displayed in a manner easily read

eCommerce Features Breadcrumbs, Wish List, add to cart, remove from cart, FAQs All features are checked to normal performance and expectation.

eCommerce Extra Testing

Linked Products Check linkage between one product and another based on linkage type of “related products” “people who bought this product bought xxxx”, or complementary products

Test of each type, not every product.

Advanced Shipping Test shipping alternatives; product variations, weight, size, shipping address, overrides, free shipping, fixed price, shipping vendors, store pickup, drop ship.

Advanced Discounting Test based on qty (tiered pricing), on customer type, coupons, item discounts, cart discounts.

Test all available payment types

Gift Cards Review all gift card features and processes

Loyalty Programs Review and test awards, and usage of awards points.

Product Variations Review the different variations of your products, such as multiple sizes, colors, materials, and more for correct pricing usage. Can also check product kitting.

Product / Digital Downloads

Verify that a purchased product can be downloaded. Review security of download files.

Import / Export of Products & Customer data

Verify that the import and export features of your data is correct.

Advanced eMails Verify transactional emails are sent and contain accurate information. Also check readability of the emails.
