RETREAT

February 12-14 will be our annual 8th grade retreat entitled: “LUKE 18” following the mandate that Christ wants the young people of the Church to be CHURCH…to “come unto Me”!

From Friday evening Feb. 12th until Sunday, Feb. 14th our high school teens under the guidance of our Youth Ministry Adult volunteers will share their faith and their time with our junior-high youth on this ‘encounter with Christ’ experience.

GRADERS!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Even though “2021” is not a Jubilee Year which tra-ditionally invites all of us to reflect on the gift of forgiveness and celebrate the unconditional love of God, there is nothing to stop us from making it such in our own hearts, every day and every year! These were the words of Pope Francis in 2015 as he called for a special “Jubilee of Mercy”…

Now more than ever we need to make this our res-olution for 2021:

“The Church must be a place of mercy freely given, where everyone can feel welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to live the good life of the Gospel.”

Evangelii Gaudium Pope Francis

It is my burning desire that, during this Jubilee, the Christian people may reflect on the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. It will be a way to reawaken our conscience, too often grown dull in the face of poverty. And let us enter more deeply into the heart of the Gospel where the poor have a special experience of God’s mercy. Jesus introduces us to these works of mercy in his preaching so that we can know whether or not we are living as his disciples.

CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE

Thanks for your very generous donations for

the Giving Tree. We were not able to have the

actual tree this year, but the donations were

the best this year!

In his homily Father Haley said, “family goes

beyond your blood line”. You have certainly

been family to many this year.

Gift cards were sent to many, so they could

have a little extra for Christmas. The monetary

donations were and will continue to be used to

help with utilities and other necessities.

Thank you!

Next weekend is the time to renew subscriptions.

There is a special envelope in the set received for

January.

St Louis Review is the archdiocesan newspaper

and helps to keep Catholics informed on local and

national items of interest.
