Enrolled Friend Program
Overview
The enrolled friend program allows all co-workers to designate up to two friends or family members to travel on their pass travel privileges. An enrolled friend must be someone the co- worker knows.
A married/partnered co-worker may designate an enrolled friend in lieu of their spouse or domestic partner and/or in lieu of regular buddy pass travel.
A single co-worker may designate an enrolled friend.
Co-workers may choose to designate an enrolled friend in lieu of having regular buddy pass travel.
Co-workers will register and designate an enrolled friend during a specified pass travel enrollment period or can choose to leave the name blank and name the enrolled friend at a later date.
At the end of each calendar year, a co-worker may decide if they would like to participate in the second enrolled friend program for the following year.
For example a co-worker may have two placements that can consist of a spouse/domestic partner and an enrolled friend OR two enrolled friends if they choose to waive their regular buddy pass travel.
Enrolled Friend Program (co-workers)
15
The enrolled friend program allows all retirees to designate two friends or family members to travel on their pass travel privileges regardless of marital status.
An enrolled friend is someone the retiree knows and will use the retiree’s pass travel privileges. A retiree can have up to two enrolled friends each calendar year in addition to their spouse/domestic partner.
Retirees will register and designate an enrolled friend during a specified pass travel
enrollment period or can choose to leave the name blank and name the enrolled friend at a later date.
Enrolled Friend Program (retirees)
Overview
16
Married and single co-workers/retirees can participate in the enrolled friend program.
Registration moves to a calendar year instead of a rolling year.
Registration for new enrolled friends is Nov - Dec annually for the following year 1/1/xx.
Enrolled friends that are not changed during the Pass Travel Enrollment period will roll over to the following calendar year and will remain for the new calendar year.
Annually in Nov-Dec*, co-workers will make the decision to add an enrolled friend in lieu of buddy pass travel outside of extended family buddy and adult children.
Annually in Nov-Dec*, retirees can register two enrolled friends in addition to their spouse/domestic partner.
Enrolled friend travels at an unaccompanied boarding priority when not traveling with co- worker/retiree or spouse/domestic partner.
*Exception for 2012, where enrolled friends can be added or changed through March 31.

Family Vacation Pass Program
Overview
The family vacation pass program enables co-workers or retirees along with their eligible pass riders while traveling on vacation at a higher boarding priority with most ticket taxes fee-waived.
On January 1, each pass eligible co-worker with 6 months of active service and retirees will be issued eight one-way family vacation ePasses for higher boarding and space-available travel, system-wide in any cabin and may be used by the co-worker’s or retiree’s eligible pass riders.
Co-workers hired after the annual distribution will receive a pro-rated portion of family vacation ePasses on their six-month anniversary of active company service.
Each family vacation pass is eligible for the highest boarding priority, SA0V, in any cabin when
available. One vacation ePass is applicable for a one-way trip for the co-worker, retiree, enrolled friend, spouse or domestic partner, eligible children and/or parents and traveling together.
Each one-way family vacation pass is valid for five years and will have an expiration date of 12/31.
Each one-way family vacation ePass is valid on the entire UA and UAX network via the most direct route.
Each family vacation ePass is service-charge waived, including ticket taxes. However, arrival, departure and regulatory taxes and fees will apply.
Family Vacation Pass Program
19
A one-way family vacation pass may be used for all eligible pass riders traveling on the same travel plan.
Joining itineraries can be booked at the same time through the custom routing tool. (under Quick Links in employeeRES) Joining itineraries will use a single one-way vacation ePass, as long as the itineraries have at least one common segment. A joining itinerary is when at least one part of the itinerary is the same. For example: SAT IAH ORD - The employee is traveling from IAH ORD and the spouse is traveling SAT IAH ORD.
A family vacation ePass is used if the pass rider boards the aircraft but does not receive a premium- class seat. The pass rider still received the privilege of a higher boarding priority and service-charge waived ticket taxes.
Layovers in a hub city are permitted for a maximum of 72 hours; four hours or the next available flight, whichever is greater, at line stations. Additional vacation ePasses will be deducted at the time of
booking for intentional layovers. Bookings that are rolled over to the next flight are taken into consideration and an additional vacation pass will not be deducted.
Due to IRS federal regulations, taxable pass riders (domestic partner, non-dependent children and enrolled friends) may only use vacation ePasses that are distributed in the current year. Example:
vacation passes distributed in 2012 cannot be used for travel in 2013 by a taxable pass rider.
Boarding priority intent must be decided within one hour prior to domestic flights and within two hours prior to international flights. Co-workers and retirees may not switch from leisure to vacation or vice versa to change boarding priority during this time frame.

Regular Buddy Pass Program
Overview
The buddy pass program, which includes regular buddy and extended family
buddy, was created for co-workers to be able to offer space-available pass travel to a friend or family member who is not otherwise eligible for pass travel privileges.
The extended family buddy consists of adult children age 26 and older, parent-in- laws, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren, not otherwise considered eligible pass riders. Extended family buddies are added to the employee’s travel profile and eligibility documents will be required.
Extended family buddies receive higher boarding priority and reduced service charges.
Co-workers may choose to register an enrolled friend in lieu of having regular buddy travel.
Co-workers who choose the enrolled friend option will still be eligible for extended family buddy travel.
For example, “Susan” has her husband on her travel profile and chooses to add her sister as her additional enrolled friend. She waives her regular buddy passes but can still use the 24 annual passes for her extended family buddies- her adult daughter, her brother, etc.
For example, “Dave” has his domestic partner on his travel profile and decides he wants to add his best friend as his additional enrolled friend. He only uses his buddy passes on family members anyway and since all of those family members are considered extended family buddies, he knows he can still use his allotment of 24 for them and does not mind waiving regular buddy travel.
Buddy Pass Program
22
The annual buddy pass allotment is distributed after six months of active company service.
The buddy ePass annual allotment is 24 segments. Each buddy ePass is valid for one flight segment (i.e. ORD SFO HNL will use two buddy ePasses).
Buddy ePasses are valid for system-wide, space available travel in economy and premium cabins (accompanied rules for premium may apply).
Buddy ePasses are valid for 13 months through 1/31.
Each buddy ePass is valid on the entire UA and UAX network via the most direct route.
Buddy pass travel is valid unaccompanied; embargoes will not apply in 2012, except for March 3-5. Embargoes may apply in 2013.
Two buddy pass riders may travel with the co-worker at their boarding priority.
Three or more buddy pass riders will travel with the co-worker at the unaccompanied family boarding priority.
Co-workers may choose an enrolled friend in lieu of regular buddy travel.
