This program prepares students to work in a wide var-iety of medical settings as a Medical Offi ce Assistant (MOA). The program is part-time, and classes are dur-ing evendur-ing hours. Students may take up to two years to complete all of the program requirements.
The program offers a full complement of both admin-istrative and clinical skills. Students will be prepared for work directly assisting the physician, or for clerical work in a more administrative capacity. Trained Med-ical Offi ce Assistants experience diverse employment choices, as the demand for medical services continues to increase due to an aging population. Students may fi nd employment in physicians’ offi ces, clinics, pub-lic or private hospitals, nursing homes, or commun-ity health care facilities. Medical clerical positions are also available in research and care agencies, pharma-ceutical fi rms, medical supply fi rms and related ser-vice businesses.
