POST HEAD OF INFRASTRUCTURE
SALARY £42,820 - £46,222 (subject to review)

KEY CHALLENGES
1. Create a highly visible and constantly available College Network.
2. Create a high performing team of IT Infrastructure professionals.
3. Ensure all network user accounts are managed securely.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist the Information Technologies Director to lead the College’s IT Department.
2. Develop, implement and monitor operational plans aimed at delivering the strategic
goals and objectives set by the Information Technologies Director.
3. Lead the development of the College’s Network Infrastructure to ensure ubiquitous
availability and permanent connectivity.
4. Ensure that all necessary staff and student user accounts are timeously created,
suitably configured and appropriately managed.
KEY ROLES
1. Ensure a high quality, customer focused IT service is consistently provided.
2. Supervise the IT Infrastructure staff team and guide, motivate, develop and appraise
them to ensure optimum performance and professional development.
3. Assist in the development and monitoring of key performance indicators and related
benchmarking data using a suitably designed performance dashboard.
4. Assist with the preparation of the IT strategic plans and translate these to suitable
operational plans.
5. Ensure that all College servers are virus free.
6. Ensure that all College servers have the latest patches and required security fixes are
applied.
7. Ensure that all College DNS services are correctly configured and appropriately
managed.
