SACRAMENT
INFORMATION
Reconciliation
Reconciliation is celebrated each Saturday from 3 to 3:45pm in the Church’s chapel or by prearranged appointment with the Priest. During the seasons of Advent and Lent, communal celebrations are held.
Baptism
Parents who wish to have their children baptized should contact the Parish Office to begin the preparation and set the date.
Confirmation
Confirmation is celebrated annually for ninth grade students who have completed a two-year preparation program. Adults who wish to be confirmed should contact the Parish Office for information.
Marriage
Engaged couples should contact the Parish Office for an initial interview before setting any dates. At least one member of the couple must have been a registered and actively participat-ing member of the Parish for a minimum of four months prior to the beginning of preparation. A four-month preparation program is required. Weddings are usually celebrated on Saturdays at 11am and 1pm.
Groundbreaking and kickoff for our Alive in Christ Project.
It is nothing less than the complete renewal and beautification of the physical plant at St. Ann's. We are one of the most beautiful Churches in the County and are rightfully proud of it, and also of our Parish Hall, our Education and Administration Buildings. The renewal and the extension of the parking and landscaping is long overdue. Thanks to Lena in the Office for easing our frustration along the way and for good communication. We are one of 90 Parishes in the Diocese involved in the Diocesan development program which kicked into gear about five years ago. The Diocese is rightfully concerned that projects in each of the 90 Parishes proceed under good direc-tion and with adequate financial support. We will continue with good progress reports. We thank you for your generosity to date and for your constant support always. Fr. Peter
This Week’s Alive in Christ Report
Now you can’t see her, but soon you will!
For the first time, St. Ann’s will be clearly visible from US 17-92 (Charles Richard Beall Blvd).
Phase 1 Begins
The Project has been carefully broken into phases to help eliminate as much disruption as possible. After cleaning and grading, storm drainage will be installed followed by paving, and last will be new landscaping.
Clearing the property that faces 17-92 will begin this week. The only trees that will be removed are Scrub Oaks in the path of the new entrance and parking. If you see stakes on the property, they are marking trees to be
saved.
Thank you for your patience, Lena, Director of Stewardship & Development T re e Co n se rv a tio n St a ke s

Farewell to Cathy Mojock
Exciting for Cathy, sad for everyone else, Cathy Mojock retires next week. After 35 years of service to the Church, she is one of the most respected Pastoral Leaders in the Diocese of Orlando.
She has served in four different Parishes in Volusia County, and she will be remembered as a person of great faith, energy and apostolic commitment.
Since the evening of the Last Supper, when Jesus knelt down on the floor and washed the feet of each disciple, the most authentic title for a Christian has been that of servant. Cathy Mojock has been a true servant, with a fearsome commitment to the Gospel, to the faith communities where she has served, and to the support and training of others who wanted to serve the Lord and His people in Parish Communities throughout the County. One of the things I admire most about her has been her willingness to grow, her desire for continuing personal and professional formation, especially in the all-important areas of worship, adult and youth education, community and social development.
Over the years she has kept all of us, priests and staff alike, on our toes. One of our frequent discussed priorities and hopes has been that we, as a Parish, be a healthy community. I will always be grateful to Cathy for supporting so many different ways towards renewal and to practice it, and to discover ever more creative ways to be present to the newly-arrived, the marginalized, and the unheard. This priority will always be a work in progress, of course. The Mojock's are a great family, and Cathy and Chuck are a wonderful couple; and the occasion of Chuck’s retire-ment from the Presidency of Lake-Sumter State College is the occasion for Cathy to move toward a slower pace. During her years here at St. Ann’s, more than three days a week she has made the trip from Mount Dora to her office at the Parish, and so often she has left evening meetings, of the Finance Committee and the Parish Pastoral Council, for example, to drive the 45 minutes home.
We are very anxious that she will not completely vanish from the scene, and I’m sure that’s not going to happen. Meantime, on behalf of Bishop Noonan, the Parish Communities of our Lady of Hope and Epiphany in Port Orange, Our Lady of Lourdes in Daytona, the faithful of the Diocese of Orlando, and we the people and staff of St. Ann’s Parish,
Our respect, affection and undying gratitude. Yours in Christ,
Parish Life

For the month of August, IMPACT High School Youth Ministry is partnering with Texas
Road-house in Orange City to have weekly Spirit Days to raise funds for our High School Youth Ministry
mission trips and conferences. To support our youth, all you have to do is eat at Texas Roadhouse
on Sundays in August, and attach one of St. Ann’s bulletins to your bill; Youth Ministry receives
10% of your bill’s cost.
It’s a great way to support our youth and have a delicious meal in the process!
“This is what is needed: a Church for young people, which will know how to speak to their heart and enkindle, comfort, and
inspire enthusiasm in it with the joy of the Gospel and the strength of the Eucharist; a Church which will know how to
invite and to welcome the person who seeks a purpose for which to commit his whole existence.”
