Digital Media [def]
Digital Media is a form of electronic media
where data are stored in digital (as opposed
to analog) form. It can refer to the technical
aspect of storage and transmission or
information or to the “end product,” such as
digital video, augmented reality, digital
signage, digital audio, or digital art.
Florida’s digital media industry association,
Digital Media Alliance Florida, defines digital
media as “the creative convergence of digital
arts, science, technology, and business for
human expression, communication, social
interaction, and education.”

I’ve had more doors open up for me here in the past 5
months than I’ve had in the past 10 years. It’s about
dedication and working and dealing with people who
have the same dedication and drive to not only succeed
themselves but want to see you succeed as well.

We have worked with many exceptional graduates from
F.I.R.S.T. They are to be commended on their professionalism and
work ethic, whether they work an onsite video production or complete
the voiceover and post for a commercial. It’s great to see a school
providing higher education for actual employment in this industry.

It’s not just 70 or 80 students in
a large classroom with only lecture. This
is an industry where you have to have
mentorship...The small class size has
afforded me that ability to be a mentor.

One of the things I was most impressed about was that [the
students] were very comfortable with the software we were using...I felt
they were very well trained coming into [the project] and then, on top of
that, to have a very good, positive attitude was overwhelming.

Going to F.I.R.S.T. Really helped me with my career, basically by bringing me to a certain standard. There’s a lot of people that make music and there’s a lot of people who understand music - but do they get it on a professional level? ...F.I.R.S.T. provided that.
