Note: This document is intended to serve as a guide for dual credit. The

ultimate decision on high school teacher approval, acceptable courses,

qualifications, licenses/certifications lies with the individual NTC department,

Dean and program faculty, and the Wisconsin Technical College System.

Dual Credit Course Guide and High School Teacher Requirements

This document outlines courses approved by NTC for dual credit along with high school teacher qualification and certification requirements and terms of engagement. These college courses are fundamental and introductory in nature and are selected by each department as appropriate for dual credit purposes. As such, dual credit courses are to be offered at the junior and senior level in partnering high schools. Teacher qualifications and terms of engagement are determined course by course by NTC faculty specific to meeting instructional area requirements. Teacher certification is defined by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board and is based on the secondary teacher’s current license from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

All high school teachers, for all courses, must: • Have a NTC Dual Credit Application on file

• Submit a signed 2014-2015 High School Teacher Expectations contract

• Submit a NTC Dual Credit Request form for every semester they will be teaching a dual credit course, and for each course they teach • Submit a syllabus for NTC dual enrollment course(s) for approval by NTC faculty and Dean for each course they teach.

*All forms can be found online at http://www.ntc.edu/high-school-educators/dual-credit-educators.

**All NTC Associate Degree Programs will also transfer to select programs at: Concordia University Wisconsin, Lakeland College, Rasmussen College, Silver Lake College, Upper Iowa University, UW-Green Bay and UW-Stout. For more information on transfer, visit www.ntc.edu/transfer
