The vision of VRC and its "DoBigThings" is truly amazing. This organization has continued to do big things and continues to push the envelope for new and creative ways to market our great city and tourist options. During my tenure of serving on the board for 6 years was exciting to see the vision of the VRC Team and bringing their marketing ideas to life. I want to continue to be a part of that vision and keep pushing envelope on marketing ideas. I have not been on the board the past 2 years but I continue to follow their marketing as well as stay in communication with the VRC Team. Tourism in Rapid City continues to grow because of the VRC Team!

2021-Present Holiday Inn Express – Rushmore South

In November of 2021 I accepted the offer to manage the Holiday Inn Express – Rushmore South. Bringing my skills and experience to run a customer centered top notch property

2021-2021 Cambria Hotel

In March of 2021 I decided to go back to running one property, that being the full- service upscale Cambria Hotel. I currently am the General Manager, in charge of overseeing all aspects of the operation. We reopened the restaurant, with a new staff and menu. We also set up a new housekeeping staff, while running full house. This being done at the same time making sure we hit budgetary goals, and quality goals.

2020-Present Quality Inn, Days Inn, and Super8

As new owners took over the properties I was brought on as Director of Operations. I facilitated the change in ownership, along with coordinating the conversion of the Americas Best Value Inn to a Super 8. With the onset of COVID-19, I also made sure our properties received all aid that we could through ppp, and other grants. We concentrated on keeping the properties running

maximizing all revenue sources while also controlling the costs. In 2020 I finished my term on the VRC board and I continue my term on the Black Hills Badlands executive Committee.

2011-2020 Triple Crown Hotels

I joined Triple Crown Hotels in June of 2011 as the General Manager of the Comfort Suites Hotel and Convention Center. I soon expanded my duties to Dual Property Manager, and finally Director of Operations. I was also

representing our hotels as part of the Visit Rapid City Board and the board for the Black Hills & Badlands Association.

2018 – 2020 Director of Operations

As of April 2018, my role was expanded to oversee the operations of all 3 hotels within Triple Crown Hotels. This included overseeing the revenue and rate management for the Days Inn, Quality Inn, and Comfort Suites. This also included overseeing the day-to-day operations making sure all three properties were always in the best shape. We also concentrated on increasing our market share in an ever- increasing marketplace

2017 – 2020 Dual Property Manager

As of April 2017, I took on the added responsibilities of also managing the Quality Inn & Suites. This is a property that we converted from a Comfort Inn June 1st of 2017. While managing both properties, the goal is to train in the new staff with an award-winning service attitude, while also training in a property manager to help run the property. All of this while improving the market share in an ever-

competitive market. We also brought the property back to Gold Status in 2018 and are now working towards getting the Platinum Award for 2020.

2011 – Present Comfort Suites Hotel & Convention Center

While working at this property I have led the team to receive 5 consecutive Platinum awards putting this hotel in the top 3% of all comfort suites. We have also increased our Rev. P.A.R. each year while also increasing the G.O.P. (the bottom line). We have also been listed as the #1 reviewed hotel in Rapid City ty from Trip Advisor for the last 5 years. Our Hotel also won the SD governor’s

award for service in 2014.

1998-2010 Sundance Lodging

I joined the Sundance Lodging team in January of 1998 as a General Manager and I have managed hotels including Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Super 8, Motel 6, Holiday Inn Express, and Best Western. I also have taken on the duties of Safety Director and Training Coordinator while working as a Regional Manager.

2002-2010 Regional Manager

Responsible for budgets, cost control, and all aspects of day to day operation of 3 to 5 motels, including hiring and training of new managers, acting as floating General Manager while actively running a property, along with

supervising the properties to make sure they meet franchise standards and maximize house profit

Safety Director

Responsible for setting up and maintaining a safety plan for all 18 Sundance Lodging properties, including working with Wausau Insurance to set up

Emergency Safety Boxes, Preventive Maintenance Calendars, and Safety Training Books. After three years of maintaining this program in our company we have seen our Insurance modifier (premium costs) drop in half.

Training Coordinator

Responsible for setting up new training programs and implementing their use along with maintaining existing programs. Responsibilities also include training new managers and following up on training of existing managers. This

included, but was not limited to being responsible for making sure that the managers are properly trained within the franchise guidelines. I have more recently set up programs in Sales, Safety, Preventative Maintenance, Reports &

Procedures, and have assisted in setting up a Customer Service program.

2009 - 2010 General Manager – Motel 6, Chadron, NE

While working at this property I was responsible for raising the QAR scores while increasing the Rev P.A.R. I also led an aggressive marketing campaign to bring in new business from the local business market and the untapped university market.

2007-2009 General Manager – Super 8 Rapid City, SD

While working at this property I was responsible for a significant increase In the Quality Assurance inspection. I also worked on increasing

customer service training resulting in several “Great Star” awards for the hotel staff. We also maintained our budget goals in a tight economic environment.

2006-2007 Multiple Property Manager – Silver City, NM

I was responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of both the Comfort Inn

& the Super 8 motels in Silver City, NM. This included setting & following budgets, setting up a preventive maintenance program, hiring and training of the staff, and making sure that both properties maximized their Rev PAR in each of their respective competitive sets. During my time at these properties we had

continuous months of record revenue while upgrading both motels to new standards.

2002-2006 Multiple Property Manager – Espanola, NM

Charged with overseeing the day to day operations of both the Comfort Inn

& the Super 8 motels in Espanola, NM. This included setting & following budgets, setting up a preventive maintenance program, hiring and training of the staff, and handling customer service issues. I also made sure that both properties maximized their Rev PAR in each of their respective competitive sets.

While at these properties we increased our customer service scores, increased our REV Par, and implemented a remodel project at the both properties.

2001-2002 General Manager – Super 8 Rapid City, SD

While working at this property I was responsible for a considerable increase in REV Par, and GOP. I trained and continue to oversee a new General Manager.

1998-2001 General Manager – Days Inn Williams, AZ

During my tenure at this property we increased our quality assurance scores bringing the property back to the “450 Club”. We also utilized our franchise tools and brought in considerable group business which the property is still benefits from today.

1998-1998 General Manager – Super 8 Springerville, AZ

While my time was short at this property I oversaw the remodeling of the office, along with setting up a program to renovate the entire property. I also made sure all records were complete and in compliance with current hospitality accounting standards.
