Hello, everyone,
As I approach the end of my year I reflect back on the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good is to see a lot of homeowners that helped bring this community together and worked very hard cleaning and painting around the subdivision. We contracted with PCL- Everyday to take over our landscaping. They have done a wonderful job in a short time. All of this has seen an increase in your property values. As we approach the arrival of all the snowbirds, this can only get better.
The bad, I do not personally read NextDoor, and have no intention of doing so. Our office is open Monday through Friday 9.00am to 1.00pm or call Ability Management with any questions or comments you might have. To all the Monday morning quarterbacks, please e-mail residents@shoreshoa.com with your questions or comments good or bad accepted.
The Ugly was Irma that blew into town for a few hours and practically destroyed all our hard work. Once again I have to thank those select few people who stepped up to help us cleanup.
In the past few days you should have received your letter from Ability for the upcoming 2017 Annual Owner’s meeting. As you will see, we only have Delia Mason and Jack LaRose running for our 2017 election. Delia & Jack are both longtime residents of our community and are a tremendous asset to The Shores Community. Please vote for them.
Finally, for all of you staying in town for Thanksgiving, my wife and I are hosting a dinner at 3:00 pm at The Clubhouse on the 23rd. We will be donating and cooking a deep-fried turkey. All we ask is that you bring along your favorite side dish. The sign- up sheet is in the lobby. Let us make this a special day.

Remember to return your Ballot!
DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS!!
Question:
Is it legal to feed birds and other wildlife?
Answer:
Feeding wildlife is generally discouraged and, in some cases, illegal. In Florida, it is illegal to feed
manatees, Sandhill cranes, bears, raccoons, foxes, and alligators. Intentionally placing food or garbage,
allowing the placement of food or garbage, or offering food or garbage in such a manner that it attracts black bears, foxes, raccoons, or Sandhill cranes and thereby creates a public nuisance is prohibited.
Additionally, intentionally feeding species listed as threatened, endangered, or of special concern - including Florida scrub-jays - is prohibited unless authorized by FWC permit. Feeding listed species is prohibited because it can negatively alter feeding behavior in some species and can cause them to become accustomed to people.
Feeding wildlife often has a detrimental rather than a helpful effect. Feeding animals may cause some species to concentrate so much on this supplemental feeding that they become a nuisance or a threat to people (e.g., bears, Sandhill cranes). When fed, alligators can overcome their natural wariness and learn to associate people with food. When this
happens, some of these alligators have to be removed and killed.
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM:
Mowing: Mowing of all specified areas shall be maintained at a height of not less than 3-1/2” or more than 4”. Leave a neat, clean and uncluttered appearance up to 40 times per calendar year as required, depending on growing season and conditions.
It is anticipated that mowing services shall be provided weekly from April 15 through October 15, and every other week, or as Contractor and Client determine the need from October 15 to April 15.
