Parish Ministers

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL REFLECTION

The challenge in today’s Gospel, is to forget how others have behaved toward us and to look to God’s way of

loving and forgiving. Our focus must be on God.

Is there a neighbor or friend of yours who is in temporary need because of a loss of a job or an illness?

Please leave a message for the Society of St.

Vincent de Paul…we want to help!

Giving Made Easy!

Would you find it helpful to have your offerings debited directly from your bank account as you may

do for other payments? St. John the Baptist offers electronic giving for those who wish to have contributions transferred electronically and safely.

If you have plans to travel, electronic giving gives you a convenient way to keep up with your offerings.

Simply go to www.sjbnewburgh.org and click on Parish, Giving, then Direct Debit Form—or call the parish office at 490-1000 and we can set it up for you.

Thank you!

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH MISSION STATEMENT Be the heart of Jesus by sharing His mercy and love.

Be the hands of Jesus by serving one another.

Be the feet of Jesus by walking in others’ shoes.

A FEW GOOD “FRIENDS” WILLING TO SHARE YOUR FAITH STORIES!!!

If you are willing to be a friend and share your own faith story with those who have been away from church and sacraments join Fr. Henry at a “Friends”

meeting on Tuesday, September 19 at either 1:00 or 6:00 PM in the library of St. John Church.

Everybody has a story, everybody has wandered for a day, a year, a decade or longer so all of us can identify in some way with others who have wandered and may want to come back home…. if they knew they would

be welcomed… not judged…. by others who Understand and both share and listen to stories of lost

and wandering sheep.

Some people have skills in advertising and communication which we need to find new and better ways to communicate our message and our longing to

welcome home with open arms, like Jesus, those lost and wandering sheep. Jesus is calling you!! Will you

answer His call?

Looking for SOME of the following talents:

Faithful Witnesses: Prayerful Disciples; Story

Tellers; Story Listeners;

Non-judging, open-minded, lovers; Advertising &

ber and December, 2017…TUESDAYS AT 1:00 OR 6:00 PM. If this is a bad time then join us in January for the Catholics Returning Home for Easter Group.
