INTERNATIONAL

STUDENT

ACTIVITIES

Studenterhuset has a special focus on international students in the fall of 2013.

We’ll be hosting a broad variety of events whose main goal will be to in-troduce you to the important aspects of living in Denmark.

We’ll focus on both the practicalities of everyday life, the social and cul-tural specificities of your Danish co-students and how you can lead a fun, fulfilling and student friendly life in Copenhagen.

The different events will be organized by Danish students, so you’ll get the inside scoop on student life in the city by the people who know it from their own life.

You can participate in selected part of the program or join all the activi-ties depending on your needs and schedule.

Get more info on the different events at our website www.studenter-huset.com

MATRICULATION

OFFICIAL AFTER

PARTY

The Matriculation is the traditional welcome to all new students at the Uni-versity Of Copenhagen.

The program starts at 13:30 at Frue Plads, where Rektor Magnificus (the Vice Chancellor) greets all new International students in the Main Hall. After the traditional welcome, the celebration will continue at Studenterhu-set at Købmagergade, where the square next to Rundetårn will be filled with Danish and International students throughout the afternoon, evening and night.

The music on the outdoor stage will include Kissaway Trail, Tako Lako, Fabelyd and many more. There will be music, dancing and chill out zones throughout the house. In 2012; 2500 students attended the party.

Throughout the evening and night we will serve cheap beer (1 beer for 15 DKR – 5 for 50 DKR).

We look forward to welcoming you to the University of Copenhagen. We hope you will enjoy your time here!

THE HEART OF

UCPH STUDENT

LIFE

Located in the center of Copenhagen by Rundetårn, Studenterhuset is the meeting point for students from across all of UCPH’S faculties.

The cafe’s doors open at eight in the morning when students stop to grab a fresh coffee and croissant on their way to classes, or gather to study in our upstairs study halls.

The café is always lively, with a constant flow of students from nearby KU campuses. Guests can participate in the many activities and events that Studenterhuset hosts or just relax with a cup of coffee.

In the evening the café transforms into an exciting venue and bar, with live music, dancing and events like International Night, where students from all over the world come to mingle.

As a student enrolled in in University of Copenhagen, you are granted free membership in Studenterhuset and a discount on all our food and drinks.

If Studenterhuset is the heart and soul of Copenhagen University, then the student volunteers are its lifeblood. As part of its goal to foster an in-ternational student community, most of the café’s events such as science slams, political debates, academic workshops or even international par-ties like the Superbowl celebrations are planned and organized by volun-teers. The café’s staff is also driven by student volunteers, including bar-tenders, photographers and more.

VOLUNTEERING AT

STUDENTERHUSET

Volunteering is a great way to get involved with the café’s events and meet new friends

Studenterhuset’s activities and café are driven mostly by our volunteers. We currently have 23 different nationalities in the house, so volunteering ensures that you’ll meet people from all over the world.

We require that volunteers work approximately 15hrs a month, represent Studenterhuset in a positive and professional manner, be open minded and reliable. In return you’ll get bar discounts, free entry to events and other volunteer benefits as well as the opportunity to get real work experi-ence and network with other students and professionals.

If you want to join a volunteer group, please contact volunteer@studen-terhuset.com

Volunteer Groups – All our volunteer groups accept both Danish and in-ternational students.

Our different groups include bar staff, PR Volunteers, Photo Volunteers, Social event volunteers and Academic event volunteers.
