GRADUATE APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

 

  We are excited that you are considering Georgia College & State 

University to con nue your educa on. Georgia College is Middle  

Georgia's graduate university, providing advanced degrees, cer ficates, 

and con nuing educa on to support and enhance leadership  

development for a professional workforce.  

  

  The 

admission policy of Georgia College & State University (GC) is to accept those applicants who provide evidence of a high poten al for    success  at  the  university.  A  poten al  student  is  considered  for  admission  without  regard  to  race,  creed,  sex,  marital  status,  disability,  sexual    orienta on,  age  or  na onal  origin.  All  documents  submi ed  for  admission  to  Georgia  College  &  State  University  become  the  property  of  the   university.

INFORMATION COMMON TO ALL APPLICANTS FOR ADMISSION

This applica on is intended for use by U.S. Ci zens and permanent residents of the United States. Interna onal Student Applica on forms and informa on may be obtained from the GC Interna onal Educa on Center, Campus Box 49, Milledgeville, GA 31061, by calling (478) 445‐4789 or by visi ng h p://www.gcsu.edu/interna onal/index.htm.

Applica on for Admission

All prospec ve students must submit a completed Applica on for Admission and all suppor ng documents by the published deadline.   The deadline for Fall term is July 1, Spring term is November 15 and Summer term is April 1.*

*Deadlines may vary by program. Please refer to graduate website or Graduate Admissions Office for more informa on. 

Note: It can take as much as 4 to 6 weeks for official test scores to arrive a er the student has taken the exam.  The ins tu onal code for the  GRE is 5252. The ins tu onal codes for the GMAT are program specific and they are: MBA program code is 3TC-NH-78, MMIS Program code  is  3TC-NH-34,  and  the  MAAC  Program  code  is  3TC-NH-83.  The  code  for  the  MAT  is  2379.  Educa on  students  must  also  take  the  Wri ng    Assessment (not required for non-degree enrichment or Kinesiology). 

Students who do not a end the term for which they apply may update their applica on within one year by no fying the Admissions Office by  calling  (478)  445-6289.    Students  who  applied  more  than  one  year  ago,  but  did  not  enroll,  must  submit  a  new  applica on  and  all  suppor ng    documents.  

Applica on Processing Fee

A non‐refundable applica on fee ($40 paper ~ $35 online) is required unless the applicant has been enrolled within the past 6 years or has paid the fee within the past 6 years. The online applica on is found at h p://www.gcsu.edu/graduate/APPLY.HTM. Students who qualifying for a  fee exemp on must submit a paper applica on to Graduate Admissions.  For informa on about payment with a credit card, please call 478-445-6289.  Checks may be mailed to GC, Box 107, Milledgeville, GA 31061. 

Official Suppor ng Documents

• All transcripts and test scores must be sent directly from the college or tes ng center to the GC Graduate Admissions Office, Campus Box 107,  Milledgeville, GA 31061.  

A transcript must be provided by each and every college a ended by applicants.  Email, fax and photocopied documents provided by the  student or ins tu on are NOT considered official and will not be used for admission purposes. Courses from one ins tu on that are listed on  another college transcript will not subs tute for an official transcript. Prior educa onal experience may not be omi ed from an applica on  package. 

Personal Interview

Georgia College may request a personal interview as part of the admissions evalua on.  Applica on Process

Students may monitor the status of their applica on by going to  h p://www.gcsu.edu/graduate/APPLY.HTM. 

A er  all  documents  are  received  in  the  Graduate  Admissions  Office  the  Graduate  Coordinator  is  no fied.    Decisions  are  made  by    the       Department.  The Department will no fy the student and the Graduate Admissions Office of the decision.  

Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

The GC Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes crime sta s cs for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred On Campus; in or on certain Noncampus buildings or property owned or controlled by GC; and on Public Property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also includes ins tu onal policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime preven on, the repor ng of crimes, sexual assault, fire safety policies/sta s cs and other ma ers. Hard copies are available at the Department of Public Safety, Human Resources, and the Office of Admissions. You can have a hard copy mailed to you by calling 478‐445‐3082 or get it on‐line at gcsu.edu/publicsafety/annualreport.htm.
