CALL to WORSHIP

Liturgist: The One who calls you together this day yearns for each of you and for all people to hear and be blessed.

All: Speak, Lord, for your servants are listening.

Liturgist: Blessed is the One who comes bringing trustworthy words for the healing of the world.

All: Speak, Lord, for your servants are listening. OPENING PRAYER

You invite us, O God, to live in your ways, and you give us each other to know and to love as we journey in this life. Show us your will for all creation. Help us to listen to your urgings with prayerful hearts so that we may honor what you have made, in the name of the holy Trinity, one God, now and forever. Amen.

OPENING HYMN of PRAISE Guide My Feet, GtG 741

CONFESSION and time of self-examination (congregation may be seated) Assured that the One who calls us to hear and obey already knows the confessions of our hearts and is ready to forgive, let us confess our sin before God and before one another.

Holy God, you see into each of us and know us fully as creatures in need of your constant care. We confess that we have neither heard your word nor followed your will. We have failed our nations, neighbors, families, friends, and ourselves. Give us ears to hear your wisdom. Lead us to honesty and faith so that we

may begin again with renewed strength; in Jesus’ name.

Order My Steps (In Your Word) Words and Music by Glenn Burleigh

Arranged by Jack Schrader

Order my steps in your Word, dear Lord, lead me, guide me, every day. Send your anointing, Father, I pray. Order my steps in your Word, please,

order my steps in your Word. Humbly I ask thee, teach me your will, while you are working, help me be still.

Tho’ Satan is busy, God is real!

Order my steps in your Word, please, order my steps in your Word! I want to walk worthy, my calling to fulfill.

Please order my steps, Lord, and I’ll do your blessed will.

The world is ever changing, Lord, but you are still the same.

If you order my steps, I’ll praise your name.

Order my steps in your Word, order my tongue in your Word; guide my feet in your word, wash my heart in your Word. Show me how to walk in your Word, show me how to talk in your Word.

When I need a brand new song to sing, show me how to let your praises ring in your Word!
