2. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

2.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This specification covers the technical requirements for the design, construction and testing of Unit Substations that combine incoming Medium Voltage section, 3-phase Power Transformer, and secondary Medium Voltage equipment or Low Voltage equipment.

Unit Substations will be installed at Chucapaca project, located at 5000 m.a.s.l. The ambient design temperature is according to the Site Data and Project Requirements 169249-0000-131-SPC-0001.

Unit Substations will be suitable for outdoor installation, as specified on the Data Sheet. Futhermore:

23 kV Metal Enclosed load interrupter switchgear with fuses:

Metal enclosed load interrupter switchgear with fuses shall be utilized for transformers from 500 KVA to 3750 KVA.

23 kV Metal Enclosed Breaker:

Circuit breaker will be SF6 type, fixed mounted, electrically operated, stored energy operation type. Breaker ratings and operating voltages shall be as shown on the Data Sheet. The breaker shall be complete with closing and tripping mechanisms, auxiliary switches, holding coils, relays, mechanical position indicators (closed-open), operation counters and accessories.

2.2 REFERENCE STANDARS

The design, fabrication / field erection (where applicable), inspection and testing of the equipment shall comply with the latest edition (including addenda) of applicable codes / standards issued by the following organizations:

• ANSI American National Standards Institute.

• IEEE Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. • NEMA National Electrical Manufacturers Association. • NFPA National Fire Protection Association.

Breakers have padlock type lockout provision.
