4.5 Ethnic recreational activities in the Society-

At one time, recreation was largely family based in Indian villages. Elders would organise social gathering among themselves in each other’s homes. Children would organise their own

recreations among themselves or together with other children. Often parents and children would join together in the same recreational activities. The effect of this on the cohesion of the family was considerable. Recreation is now increasingly organized outside the family. Modern recreation is not designed for family - wide participation. Whether in the form of movies, sports events, plays, cricket, ‘Kabaddi’, Tennies, dinner parties or Yakshagana, it is designed for the couple or

individual participation.14

Conclusion and Recommendations-

The ethnic village resorts have a unique concept of fun, food and entertainment. The major attraction elements are ethnic culture & Indian tradition, it gives a sense of individuality & belongingness to the visitors.

The use of traditional Indian village activities & its games need to be collaborated into the ethnic village resorts theme. It can create people interest into the ethnic village resort as a recreational activity region.

The food is the fundamental need to gather the people in a resorts.so there are need to some fast food, drinks. The variety of food need to be increase so visitors can have a multiple choice of food not a single traditional style of food.

The relaxing areas should suitable & provide as per need, not to place near sound activity. The relaxing or sitting areas provided as per activity needs & also in the centre for an overall view of activity zone.

The pathways need to be incorporated with the recreational activity zones because it also play a role of recreational activity. It also help for handicap & senior citizens to link one activity to another. The recreational activities should for all the age groups not for singles age group like children’s oriented recreational activities if provided then, at a time of recreation it looks over crowded place of same age group & also difficult to manage. This type of miss concept recreational activities effects also the other age group visitors. So the area of recreational activities & games should be as par visitors. Activities zones. Or a time limit we can manage the recreational activities.
