REACH! Partnership School Overview

Introduction

 In it’s 9th year, REACH is a transformation school for students in grades

8-12

 Operated by Civic Works

 Approximately 638 student enrolled  REACH! Vision

 REACH! Partnership School’s vision is to graduate all young men

and women who enter REACH! To not only be prepared and

motivated to pursue post-secondary education without remediation but who also have the entry level skills to prepare for a rewarding career in the fields health care, construction, homeland security and the U. S. military.

 Goal

 To provide our students with life-long career options, a sense of

community, respect for themselves and others

Operations

 School starts at 8:45 and end at 3:35 The building opens at 8:15 to

serve breakfast.

 REACH! Bell Schedule (90 minute class periods)

 1st period 8:45-10:15,  Homeroom 10:15-10:28,  2nd period 10:31-11:58,  3rd period 7  Lunch 12:01-12:31,  4th period 12:34-2:01,  Last period 2:04-3:35

Operations

 Students must wear school uniform daily

 Uniforms-royal blue polo shirts with the REACH logo and khaki

colored shorts, pants, or skirt.

 Eighth graders wear black polo shirts.

Note: Shirts can be purchased at Hermans on Greenmount Avenue.

 They have awarded us grant money to help our students transition to

college or apprenticeship programs.

 Qualifying REACH students are dual enrolled and leave with college

 Provides advocates to work in school to support students and

 Has provided our 12h graders with scholarship money!

iReady Growth Assessment

City Schools has contracted with Curriculum Associates to implement the nationally normed student growth assessment iReady® - this serves as the

new interim assessment system for SY15-16!

Student growth assessment system in mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA) Enables teachers to measure student progress throughout the school year and from one year to

the next

Students in grades 3-8 will be assessed

three times a year. In 9-12, students on grade level will

be assessed twice Includes professional development for teachers and administrators on using the results to
