Below is a list of scholarships applicable to MBA students provided by organizations independent of the Haas School of Business. They are organized by deadline based on information as of November 6, 2012.

Toigo Private Equity MBA Graduate Fellowships are awarded to 2nd year ethnic minority students who have a desire to work in entrepreneurship or the private equity sector. Javits Fellowships Program of the U.S. Department of Education - Eligibility is limited to individuals who at the time of application-- (1) will be entering a doctoral program and/or who, at the time of application, have not yet completed their first full year of study in the doctoral program. The Fulbright Scholarship offers awards to students who aim to increase mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and other countries, through the exchange of persons, knowledge, and skills. Belgian American Educational Foundation Inc (BAEF) provides funding from 15.000 Euros up to $100,000 for two academic years of study at Berkeley- Haas. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program provides opportunities for graduate professionals from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan,

Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan for one-year degree or two-year degree study in the United States. Open to FTMBA students. Applications due November 2012.

The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers over $500,000 in funding to Scandinavians to undertake study or research programs in the United States for up to one year. Also, the ASF offers fellowships (up to $23,000) and grants (normally $5,000) to individuals to pursue research or study in one or more Scandinavian countries for up to one year. The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans is a grant where each fellow receives tuition and living expenses that can total as much as $90,000 over two academic years. This grant is aimed towards naturalized citizens or permanent residents who retain loyalty and a sense of commitment to their country of origin as well as to the United States and will continue to regard the United States as their principal residence and focus of national identity. CFUW Dr. Alice E. Wilson Awards are awarded to women of Canadian citizenship for graduate studies in any field, with special consideration given to those returning to study after at least three years. Two awards are given at the master’s level and three for the doctoral level of study. Open to incoming and continuing students. CFUW 1989 Ecole Polytechnic Commemorative Award commemorates the fourteen women students murdered at the Ecole Polytechnic in Montreal. For graduate studies in any field. Open to women of Canadian citizenship for graduate studies in any field. The candidate must justify the relevance of her work to women. Open to incoming and continuing students. The Harvey Fellows is a stipend amount of $16,000 per year, up to two years. The fellowship is awarded to Christian graduate students attending a top five school to integrate their faith and vocation and pursue leadership positions in strategic fields where Christians tend to be underrepresented. The number of fellowships awarded each year varies according to available funds from the Mustard Seed Foundation. Open to both incoming and continuing FTMBA students. American Association of University Women (AAUW) supports women breaking through educational and economic barriers as aspiring scholars around the globe, teachers and activists in local communities, women at critical stages of their careers, and those pursuing professions where women are

International Fellowships is $18,000. Applications due December 1, 2012.

Career Development Grants from $2,000 to $12,000. Applications due December 15, 2012.

Selected Professions Grants from $5,000 to $18,000. Applications due January 10, 2013. The Goldman Sachs MBA Fellowship is designed to increase the level of interest in and awareness of careers in the industry among Black, Hispanic and Native American business school students. Through the program, Goldman Sachs offers 10 fellowships to students at ten firm wide graduate business schools annually. Applications due December 5, 2012.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) awards scholarships to US Citizens or permanent residents of Hispanic heritage. This scholarship is open to FTMBA students. Applications due December 15, 2012. (http://hsf.net/Scholarships.aspx?id=424#grads)

Lime Connect and BMO Capital Markets are pleased to partner in offering The 2012 BMO Capital Markets Lime Connect Equity Through Education Scholarship for Students with Disabilities. The scholarships are intended for current undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a four-year university program, who have any type of disability, and provides US$10,000 or C$5,000 in support of future studies in either the US or Canada.

The Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance awards membership to African students interested in opportunities in Africa. Summer grants, travel grants, and internship opportunities are available. Applications due

The Humane Studies Fellowships are awarded by the Institute for Humane Studies to support the work of outstanding students who are interested in exploring the principles, practices, and institutions necessary to a free society through their academic work. Fellowships range from $2,000 to $15,000. Open to both incoming and continuing FTMBA students. Applications due December 31, 2012.

The Dolores Zhorab Liebmann Fund award graduate school fellowships in any recognized field of study in the humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences (including law, medicine, engineering, architecture, or other professional training) for independent research and study grants. This scholarship is open to both FTMBA and EWMBA students. This scholarship is open to both incoming and continuing students. Applications must be submitted through the dean of the university where the student is pursuing

Kosciuszko Foundation Tuition Scholarships support American students of Polish descent for full-time graduate studies in the United States. This scholarship is open to FTMBA students. This scholarship is open to both incoming and continuing students. Applications due January 5, 2013.

The Ron Brown Fellowship Program fully funds two year degrees for Central and Eastern European students and young professionals for study in U.S. graduate programs and professional development through open, merit-based competition. CFA® Level I Merit Award is available to a graduate student and an undergraduate who have

The Switzer Foundation has fellowships specifically for graduate students who are leaders committed to a career in environmental improvement. Fellowship provides a $15,000 one-year cash reward. This

The Richard Metzler Scholarship is for students who demonstrate commitment to management

consulting. The award can be up to $5000. You can download the application at www.amcf.org (under the “Foundation” tab). Applications due January 25, 2013.

Santa Barbara County Scholarship Foundation - Applicants must have graduated from a Santa Barbara County high school. The primary criteria for award selection are financial need, potential, and motivation. This scholarship is open to FTMBA students. Applications due January 31, 2013.

The Diversified Leaders in Healthcare Scholarship is available to first and second year graduate students who are pursuing degrees in healthcare administration or a comparable degree (i.e., MBA, MPH, MHA, MPA). Candidates must be a member of a federally classified ethnic minority group. Scholarships are open to both incoming and continuing students. Applications due January 31, 2013.

Federation Executive Recruitment and Education Scholarship Program is a $20,000 per year, for up to two years, graduate scholarship funded through the United Jewish Communities that recruits, supports and develops future professional leaders for the North American Jewish federation system. In accepting the scholarship, the student makes a minimum two-year commitment to work in a federation in North America following their studies. This scholarship is open to FTMBA students. The Point Foundation is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students of merit. Scholarships are open to both incoming and continuing students. Applications are available in December and are due February 11, 2013.

Women in International Trade Northern California Scholarship Program will award $2,000 to one qualified student with career aspirations in the field of international trade, business or policy. The Government Finance Officers Association offers numerous scholarships to MBAs with a career interest in the efficient and productive investment of public funds in state and local government finance.  The Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship awards $10,000. Open to FTMBA students.

 The Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship awards $5,000.

 Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship for $5,000. Open to FTMBA students.

 The Government Finance Officers Association awards $5,000 to state/local government

employees preparing for a career in state or local government finance. Open to EWMBA students. The LAGRANT Foundation is awarding $10,000 scholarships to African American, American Indian/Native American, Asian pacific American and Hispanic/Latino graduate students majoring in advertising,

scholarships to both FTMBA students and EWMBA students who are working full time in retail real estate or related disciplines. Candidates must currently be a member of the ICSC and have been actively employed in the shopping centre industry for a minimum of one year or have graduated from college/university in the 18 months prior to December 31, 2009. The Fundação Estudar Scholarship is for Brazilian students who demonstrate high intellectual potential. Multiple scholarships are awarded each year. Applications due March 2013.

The National Italian American Foundation awards scholarships to Italian American students who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievement or to students majoring in Italian language or studies. The HR Symposium Lynne Boone Memorial Scholarship Program awards scholarships to graduate students enrolled in MBA programs with the objective of advancing in the HR field. The scholarships consist of three master's level scholarships for $5,000 each, and the criteria for receiving the scholarships includes, but is not limited to: Academic excellence, work experience in HR, volunteer/extra-curricular activities and professional/faculty recommendations. Central Logic’s Healthcare Innovators Patient Flow Scholarship. Students nationwide are researching and meaningfully contributing to healthcare improvement initiatives. The Central Logic “Healthcare

Innovators” Patient Flow Scholarship Supports these efforts, and awards one $3,000 and one $1,500 scholarship to qualified students.

Scholarship Details:

 Applicants must be graduate students enrolled in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or Nursing programs.

The Financial Leadership Scholarships for Bay Area Women is a $10,000 scholarship for female students attending Bay Area universities or colleges pursuing a degree in finance or financial services. Open to incoming and continuing students. Applications are due March 24, 2013.

The Company Corporation announces its Business Plan Contest! The Company Corporation is excited to announce the start of our first quarterly Business Plan Contest. Open to participants from around the country, the Business Plan Contest encourages young entrepreneurs to grow their ideas into start-up and early-stage businesses.

Prize is $1,000 and is awarded four times per year. First deadline is March 31, 2013.

 The scholarship is geared at young entrepreneurs and business majors but is open to students in any field at both the undergraduate or graduate level

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) has two scholarships for graduate students pursuing studies in finance.

TruFit Good Citizen Scholarship for College is offering forty scholarships totaling $50,000 will be awarded to students. One winner will receive $5,000; four winners each will receive $2,500; and 35 winners each will receive $1,000. Applicants are asked to write an essay of no more than 250 words or to record an up to 60-second video demonstrating their good citizenship through community volunteerism and leadership. They must also provide two references that are directly connected to their community involvement. The Lynn Adamson Memorial Scholarship sponsored by Women Health Care Executives, a professional association dedicated to career advancement of women in health care offers a $4,000 scholarship to students currently enrolled in a graduate degree program. Applications due April 6, 2013.

The Robert A. Toigo Foundation Fellowship offers mentorship and networking opportunities along with an annual award for ethnic minorities committed to careers in finance. Open to both incoming and

The American Australian Association awards up to $30,000 in fellowships to Australians for advanced research and study in the United States and also awards US fellows to pursue studies in Australia. Contra Costa Association of Realtors Scholarship Foundation is offering scholarships to residents of Central Contra Costa County that have completed one year of full-time college, completed courses with emphasis on real estate, finance and/or business. The Bank of America Merrill Lynch MBA Investment Banking Diversity Fellowship Program will award a fellowship to African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Alaskan Native/American Indian and female students entering business school. This fellowship is open to incoming students. The fellowship will cover $40,000 of tuition and fees for the first year.  Bank of America Merrill Lynch will provide a paid summer internship (between the first and second year of the MBA program) in Investment Banking.

 Upon successful completion of the Summer Associate Program and acceptance of a full-time offer for 2013, the fellowship will cover $40,000 of total tuition and fees for the second year of the MBA program.

Peter and Alice von Loesecke Scholarship Foundation awards $20,000 to candidates with either a desire to return to a home country to grow a family business, a desire to create a socially responsible

entrepreneurial venture, or former volunteers or employees of a public service organization. Applicants are eligible if they attend one of the MBA Tour events. Applications due April 16, 2013.

The Inter-American Agency for Cooperation and Development (IACD) of the Organization of American States (OAS) Every year, the Agency provides several hundred fellowships for graduate studies and research. Guru Gobind Singh Fellowship is intended for students from India and Pakistan pursuing graduate degrees at UC Berkeley. Student must be committed to returning to his/her country of origin after graduating and must not have engaged previously in graduate study at any other institution in the U.S.

CREW Network Foundation Scholarship is offering $5,000 scholarship to women pursuing college education that will lead to a career in commercial real estate industry. The CREW Network Foundation Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and is intended to help finance the educational endeavors of female undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in accredited real estate programs, or enrolled in other fields of study with the intent to pursue a career in commercial real estate.

 The applicant must be of junior or senior standing during the school year 2013-14 for

undergraduate student applications, or enrolled full-time in an applicable graduate program for graduate student applications.

 The applicant must have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

 The scholarship is only available to citizens of the United States and Canada.

The National Society of Hispanic MBA’s offers $2,500-$10,000 in scholarships to students of at least half Hispanic heritage who are also U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. NSHMBA membership required. Application period is from March–April 30, 2013. (http://www.nshmba.org/scholarship/)

Accenture American Indian Scholarship awards two graduate scholarship of $15,000 each to high-achieving American Indian and Alaska Native students. Scholarships are open to FTMBA students. The Korean American Scholarship awards numerous scholarships of $2,000 or more to Full-time college students across the country. Applications due May 31, 2013. (http://www.kasf.org/application) The Rising Farmworker Dream Fund (RFDF) offers an MBA Fellowship for sons and daughters of migrant/seasonal farm laborers ranging from $2,500-$5,000. The George M. Brooker Scholarship provides tuition assistance to minority college students who plan to enter real estate management and make it their career. Applicants for the scholarship must demonstrate academic excellence. Graduate level awards are granted in amounts up to $5,000. This scholarship is open to incoming students.
