Registration Procedure

Delegates are required to wear their name tags at all times when within the premises of the Sasana

Kijang.

The photography session will take place on

Remarks. Participants are advised to wear their office attire for this purpose.

Dress Code

Participants may wish to be attired in smart casual (suggested for office attire without jacket/coat) for

the duration of the seminar.

70 Single Occupancy rooms (non-smoking) and 5 Double Occupancy rooms (non-smoking) have

been reserved for participants and speakers at Lanai Kijang at the rates, inclusive of breakfast and

applicable taxes, shown below:

Single Occupancy Room (1 queen bed): RM168 nett with breakfast for 1 person; or

RM216 nett with breakfast for 2 persons

Double Occupancy Room (2 single beds): RM246 nett with breakfast for 2 persons

Please note that as per policy, only spouses of the participants are allowed at Lanai Kijang.

Lanai Kijang is about 2–3 minutes from BNM Headquarters and 2 minutes from Sasana Kijang. The

distance from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to BNM is about 40 kilometers or about 45 to

60 minutes, depending on traffic.

Other Hotels within the Vicinity:

Participants may stay at hotels other than the

Lanai Kijang

. However, the participants will have to

make their own room reservations and request for the special rates/promotions from these hotels.

Kindly inform the Secretariat the hotel where you will be staying. Below are some of the hotels that

are relatively close to Lanai Kijang and Sasana Kijang. Participants are also to make their own

transportation arrangements.

Airport Transfer

1. By taxi (highly recommended)

Prepaid taxis (premier and budget), limousines and vans are available from the various counters at

the KLIA arrival hall. Coupons can be purchased, via cash or credit card, from the counters located

near the Baggage Claim area. Rates are approximately RM 100. We highly recommend participants

to use this option. For ease of reference, please carry a copy of the map with you at all times.

We

advise participants not to accept offers from taxi touts who may try to offer lower rates.

2. By train

KLIA Express offers a non-stop journey between KL Sentral and KLIA. Fare is RM35.00 for a

one-way journey and the non-stop journey only takes 28 minutes. From the KL Sentral Station, you can

take a taxi to Lanai Kijang(5 kilometres or 10 minute drive).

Shuttle Service between Lanai Kijang and Sasana Kijang

Special Shuttle Service for the Participants

A special shuttle service has been arranged to provide daily transfer, to and from Lanai Kijang to

Sasana Kijang, for the participants and speakers on 3-7 December 2012. The coach leaves at exactly

8.15am at Lanai Kijang and departs Sasana Kijang, depending on the time completion of the last

session of each day.

Complimentary Shuttle Service by Lanai Kijang

Alternatively, there is a complimentary shuttle service to and from Lanai Kijang and Sasana Kijang.

The timings are as follows:

Morning Session: 7:30am, 8:30am and 9:30am (Lanai Kijang to Sasana Kijang)

Evening Session: 5:30pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm (Sasana Kijang to Lanai Kijang)

Certain countries require visa to enter Malaysia. Participants should apply for visa at the Malaysian

Embassy or Consulate service in their respective countries. ADB can provide note verbale, if

required. Please send the request to Ms. Chona P. Guatlo at cguatlo.consultant@adb.org at least 2

weeks before the seminar.

Welcome Dinner

MDIC will host a Welcome Dinner on Monday, 3 December 2012 at 7:00pm. The shuttle service will

be available for the participants and will leave Lanai Kijang at exactly 6.45pm. Please assemble at the

Lanai Kijang lobby.

Complimentary Half Day Excursion (Optional)

A complimentary half day Kuala Lumpur City Tour will be hosted by MDIC on 7 December 2012 at

2:30pm onwards. The shuttle service will depart Lanai Kijang at exactly 2.30pm. Please assemble at

the Lanai Kijang lobby.

Friday Prayers for Muslims

Please inform any of the Secretariat members upon registration on Monday, 3 December 2012, if

participants would require return transfer for Friday prayers on 7 December 2012.

Climate

Malaysia’s climate is tropical, high both in temperature and humidity, and dominated by monsoons

with temperatures of approximately 32-36 degrees Celsius in the daytime in Kuala Lumpur while it is

somewhat cooler at 22-24 degrees Celsius during night time.

Malaysia’s standard time is 8 hours ahead of Greenwich Meridian Time (GMT).

Administrative Guide at Lanai Kijang

1. General

All guests/participants should observe and adhere to the Lanai Kijang’s rules and regulations

and behave in a proper manner and maintain a high degree of decorum at all times.

2. Dress Code

During the seminar, please refer to dress code on page1.

• Smart casual wear will be required during dining at Residential Café / Staff Centre Café.

Please note that sleeveless shirt, round neck t-shirt, short pants, slippers, sweaty and

Stay-in guests can dine at the Staff Centre Café (all day dining). However, non-staying in

guests, such as resource persons/participants (high level officials or VIPs) are allowed to

have breakfast, snack, dinner at the Staff Centre Café but must be accompanied or

introduced by the event owner/coordinator.

Outside food are not allowed in to the Residential Café/Staff Centre Café.

Eating within the wellness centre, swimming pool area and courts are not permitted.

No room service i.e. food and beverages are served in the guest room, with exceptions to

disabled guests. However, guests are allowed to pack food from outside and have their food

in their respective rooms.

Alcoholic drinks are strictly prohibited in Lanai Kijang.

4. Smoking

Smoking is not allowed in Lanai Kijang except at the designated areas: two spots along the

stretch of road between Multipurpose Hall and Staff Centre.

5. Staff Centre

Access to and use of the Staff Centre meeting and recreational facilities located within Staff

Centre (Level 1and 2) are exclusively for staff of Bank Negara Malaysia.

6. Business Centre

The Business Centre at Level 4 is open all day to stay-in guests and participants (on

self-service basis). It provides photocopying/fax and computer/internet facilities.

• Users are advised to delete all files immediately after using the computers. Otherwise files will

be automatically deleted after 24 hours.

7. Safety and Security

Since Lanai Kijang is located in a quiet neighbourhood, stay-in guests and participants are

advised to take shuttle service (to Bank Negara Malaysia HQ) or call for taxi service to go out

of Lanai Kijang premise.

Stay-in guests/participants/visitors to liaise with the reception of Lanai Kijang for shuttle or taxi

services. Guests to provide advance notice to the reception of Lanai Kijang for taxi service

(at least two hours before departure time). Otherwise, the waiting period is 20 – 30 minutes.

Use in-room safe facilities in Lanai Kijang to safeguard valuables and travel documents.

Avoid carrying large amount of cash.

8. Photography and Video Taping (for Media/Press/External Party)

• Photography and video taping of Lanai Kijang (with the exception of the event venue) are

strictly prohibited.

9. Visitors of Stay-in Guests at Lanai Kijang

Stay-in guests are not allowed to bring visitors (be it Bank staff nor outsiders) to their

residential rooms at all times. However, if they need to entertain their visitors they

could do so at the lounge area (respective floors), main lobby of Lanai Kijang or the

Staff Centre Cafe (subject to approved conditions).

10. Others

Alert the reception of Lanai Kijang or event secretariat immediately if guests/participants face

any health problems or emergency situations.
