DRIVING ALL AROUND CUBA
allCubatravel offers you the chance to organize your free time driving all around Cuba. FlexiDrive package combines car rental and hotel open vouchers that offers the freedom to follow your whims. With the car you may move anywhere. With the open vouchers you may stay at any of the 142 listed hotels if there is available room (see list below).
FlexiDrive is free of any schedule! It’s one of the best ways of knowing Cuba. Move at your own pace driving your car and selecting your preferred tours and sites land wide.
You could ask for assistance at CUBATUR offices in the territory. These local assistance offices will arrange accommodation and pre-book at your name without additional cost. This package has not hotels reserved in advance, but only the car. If you wish to book a higher category hotel not mentioned in the list, you may contact us and paying a supplement, get lodging service in the desired hotel if there are available rooms.

Showing the FLEXI DRIVE (MANEJANDO CUBA) vouchers in any CUBATUR tourism desk, client will get 15% discount in any excursion or tour.
For FlexiDrive booking the following information is required: 1. Car driver's full name.
2. Car pick up location, date and hour. 3. Car drop off location, date and hour.
WELCOME AND SERVICE START
An assistant will welcome you upon your arrival at the airport or will contact you at the hotel, according to where program starts.
International Airports with this service are: • Havana International Airport “Jose Martí”
• Varadero International Airport “Juan Gualberto Gómez” • Cayo Coco International Airport
• Santiago de Cuba International Airport “Antonio Maceo”
You will immediately receive all required information and documentation, including open vouchers to receive lodging service in any of the hotels associated to the program.
To make easier moving in Cuba, you will receive a “Roadways Map” with detailed information about the roads network, distances, hotels location, gas stations, restaurants, airports and other interesting places.
You will also receive documentation with useful information, such as the assistance offices all over the country, the lists of hotels included in the program (where delivered vouchers are valid), the location of the main cars service workshops, health care clinics, gas stations and other useful advices.
Next you fill out the forms and pick up the car. The assistant will give you advice in the car rental contract signing.
CAR RENTAL
allCubatravel works together with CUBACAR/REX (state-owned car rental companies). • Three car categories may be used be used for this program: ECONOMIC, MEDIUM or
FAMILY. See car models and features below.
• The car will be received by client in any of the CUBACAR/REX offices listed below. When the car is received in an international airport an additional fee of 20 CUC must be paid by client.
• Car could be dropped off in any of CUBACAR/REX offices around Cuba. If delivered in an office different from the rental office, a drop-off fee must be paid, according to distance. Fees range is from 10 to 130 CUC. Typical fees: Havana – Varadero 25 CUC, Havana – Santiago 100 CUC.
• This program does not include gasoline, car guarantee and insurance. These expenses have to be paid by client to the CUBACAR/REX office when signing the rental contract.
• allCubatravel is not responsible for any violation of the car rental contract made by clients.
Clients should carefully read all items of car rental contract, like these:
I.1 The car should only be driven by authorized person(s) named in the contract. I.2 There is the possibility of an additional driver for only 3 CUC per day. I.3 The driver(s) must be 21 years old or more.
I.4 The driver(s) must show the passport or driver license at the moment of the rent. I.5 The car have to be dropped back in same conditions as it was rented.
I.6 The client is responsible for the kind of gasoline use. These cars have to use special gasoline minimum 94 octanes (known as “special” in Cuba service stations).
A guarantee deposit must be paid at car rental. It will be reimbursed at the end of the rental if the car is not damaged.
LODGING
Accommodation is included in double or single standard rooms at any of the listed hotels. Meal plan incliuded in package is BED & BREAKFAST. If hotel is all-inclusive, a
supplement will be paid in cash during check-in. Supplement is about 10 CUC, according to hotel category.
To find accommodation you should go to any of the hotels to receive lodging service if there is room available. In case of no availability, the desk clerk will look for lodging in nearest hotels. Once the room is confirmed, you will deliver the corresponding lodging voucher(s) during check-in.
To secure lodging it is advisable to make a phone call to the hotel some days before arrival to book. The local assistance CUBATUR offices may do this for you without additional cost. In high tourist seasons, it is recommended to book with advance time enough to assure the accommodation at the preferred hotel.
allCubatravel shall not refund clients for any unused portions of the trip. Children under 12 are free if sharing rooms with two adults.
END OF SERVICE
At the end of the program client must deliver the car at any of the CUBACAR car rental outlets located in all main cities and airports of the country. Drop-off location should be stated when starting the program, and when signing the rental contract.

These routes are only proposals based on the experience of previous clients. Take them as a starting point to design a program according to your expectations and possibilities.
Cuba in Route – The Big Island
This program of approximately 3000 km requires of at least 14 days to drive along the whole island, from West to East, visiting the main touristic sites in both north and south of the country.
Cuba in Route – Western Cuba
Western Cuba concentrates itself in the occidental provinces (Pinar del Rio, La Habana, Matanzas) and dedicates one week to the main locations of Havana city and Varadero, including many interesting sites in western Cuba.
Cuba in Route – Central Cuba
Central Cuba concentrates itself in the central provinces (Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Sancti Spiritus) and decicated one week to visit Cienfuefos city, colonial Trinidad, Coco and Guillermo keys, Remedios town and Santa Clara city, including many interesting sites in central Cuba.
Cuba in Route – Central+Eastern Cuba
This program of approximately 2500 km requires 14 days to drive through the narrow roads from central to eastern Cuba, including the main touristic sites in both north and south of the island.

1st day
Havana - 0 kms
Enjoy Havana city and create conditions for a long journey. Tropicana show is recommended at the evening. Lodging in a city hotel.
2nd day
Habana / Moka / Soroa / Pinar del Rio - 180 kms
Visit to Pinar del Rio, the most western province of the country, the land of the famous Habano cigar. It is recommended to visit the comunity Las Terrazas, located in Sierra del Rosario, the first biosphere reserve in Cuba. There you can see ruins of French coffee plantations of XIX century, enjoy a country lunch and swim in the fresh waters of San Juan river. From there you can reach Soroa tourist site, ideal for nature lovers, with a
waterfall of 21 meters high and the greatest orchids garden in Cuba. Lodging in hotels Pinar del Rio or Mirador de San Diego.
3rd day
Pinar del Rio / Viñales / Havana - 280 kms
Departure to Viñales valley where you can enjoy a day among mogotes (small hills with flat top), visit the
Prehistoric Mural, the Indians cave and Palenque de Cimarrones. In the afternoon return to Havana for lodging in a city hotel, El Bosque/Kohly.
4th day
Havana / Varadero / Elguea - 230 kms
Departure to Varadero to enjoy a day of sun and beach. In the afternoon drive to Elguea for lodging there.
5th day
Elguea / Santa Clara / Remedios / Moron - 280 kms
Departure to Santa Clara. Visit to Che Guevara mausoleum. Drive through North circuit to visit the colonial town of Remedios and San Jose de los Lagos. Drive to Moron for lodging in hotels Moron, San Fernando or Casona Moron.
6th day
Moron / Cayo Coco - 65 kms
From Moron vitis to Jardines del Rey through a 17 km stoneway over the sea that links the main island to Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. In transit visit to Laguna Redonda. Back to Moron hotel.
7th day
Moron / Camaguey - 130 kms
Departure to Camaguey using the North circuit. You may visit Santa Lucia beach. City tour in Camaguey, one of the first colonial villes, with a unique streets desing known as "broken dish". Also known as the city of "Tinajones" (big clay water recipients) and for having a lot of churches. Lodging in a local hotel.
8th day
Camaguey / Las Tunas / Bayamo - 210 kms
Departure to Bayamo city, in transit visit to Las Tunas city and Covarrubias beach at north of Las Tunas province. Bayamo was the second ville founded by Diego Velázquez. Lodging in hotel Royalton.
9th day
Bayamo / Santiago de Cuba - 120 kms
Departure to Santiago de Cuba, the most Caribbean city of Cuba. In transit to the sanctuary Caridad del Cobre, the patron of Cuba. Lodging in a city hotel, Libertad or Balcon del Caribe.
10th day
Santiago de Cuba city tour - 0 kms
Velázquez, the Cemetery of Santa Efigenia and the Gran Piedra. Back to hotel.
11th day
Santiago de Cuba / Holguin - 140 kms
You may use the morning to visit something pending from Santiago de Cuba or in transit visit Biran comunity, where native house of Fidel Castro is located. In Holguin, the city of parks, you may visit Lome de la Cruz, a natural viewpoint of the city. Lodging in hotels Pernik or Mirador de Mayabe.
12th day
Holguin / Ciego de Avila - 330 kms
In the morning you may visit some of the north coast beaches: Guardalavaca, Esmeralda or Pesquero. In the afternoon departure to Ciego de Avila for lodging in hotels Santiago-Habana or Ciego de Avila.
13th day
Ciego de Avila / S. Spiritus / Trinidad - 145 kms
In the morning departure to Trinidad with transit visit to Sancti Spiritus city, the tower Manaca-Iznaga, the viewpoint of Valle de los Ingenios, and arrival to the colonial city of Trinidad. Lodging in hotels Costa Sur, Las Cuevas or Maria Dolores.
14th day
Trinidad / Cienfuegos / Havana - 335 kms
In the morning visit something pending in Trinidad and departure to Cienfuegos city, known as La Perla del Sur. In Cienfuegos you should visit the boulevard, the famous Terry theatre, the "malecon", the Palacio del Valle and hotel Jagua, where you may contact an assistant to help you in getting a boat ride by the bay and a visit to dolphinarium. In the afternoon depart to Havana for lodging in hotel El Bosque / Kholy.

Havana / Varadero - 180 kms
Departure to Varadero by the route of Ernest Hemingway, visit the Finca Vigia in San Francisco de Paula and Cojimar, a fishermen town where the writer had its yatch named Pilar, where you can visit Las Terrazas
restaurant. Journey continues to Matanzas city and Varadero. In transit stop at Bacunayagua viewpoint. Lodging in Varadero hotel Villa La Mar.
6th and 7th days
Varadero - 20 kms
Tour by Varadero to know the town and all sites in Hicacos Peninsula and enjoy the sun and the beach in this famous international resort. Back to hotel.
