FAQs: MATRIX NAVAN CNX200

Q: How to configure port triggering?

Port triggering is a type of port forwarding where outbound traffic on predetermined ports sends inbound traffic to specific incoming ports. Port triggering "Triggers" an open incoming port when a client on the local network makes an outgoing connection to a predetermined port on a server. Step 1:

Login to System Engineer mode and click on tab Firewall and Security

Click on Add and it will open new window.

           Give the service name in “Application”

 Tick 'Enable' parameter. Port Triggering

 Select Triggering port type as Single or Range.

 Entre port/range of ports to be triggered as per selected option Single/Range Port Forwarding

 Select ‘Protocol’ as TCP, UDP or Both as per application requirement.  Choose Allow External IP Address as Any or Single

 If you want to allow packets received from any external IP address to the internal IP address from which you triggered a port then select “Any”

 If you want to allow packets received from a single (fixed) IP address (WAN) to be

forwarded to the internal IP address then select single and enter that external IP address in IP address field.

 Select Forwarding Port Type as Single or Range.

If you want single port to be forwarded at the time when single port is triggered then select single otherwise select range and entre ports range.

Q: I can't see SSID of NAVAN in my mobile or laptop

 Login to System Engineer mode and click on Wireless LAN tab  Click on Wi-Fi settings on left hand side menu

 Under Basic Settings ensure that Enable flag is tick marked  Make sure that the Network Name is entered

 Check for SSID Broadcast flag and it should be tick marked

Q: Can I restrict PING on WAN for security?

A:

Yes you can restrict the PING on WAN. To program it login to System engineer mode and click on Firewall & Security tab.

Q: I forgot LAN IP address of NAVAN CNX200. How can I retrieve default

LAN IP address?

A: Default LAN IP address of NAVAN CNX200 is 192.168.2.56

 If you know the WAN IP of NAVAN CNX200 then you can open web GUI through WAN IP. Login to System Engineer mode and click on LAN & WAN tab

Click on LAN and under General setting menu you will find the LAN IP address of NAVAN CNX200

 User can connect LAPTOP/PC to any of the LAN port of NAVAN CNX200.Keep Local Area Connection port (Ethernet) of LAPTOP/PC in DHCP mode. If LAPTOP/PC gets IP address through DHCP then check for the Gateway IP address assigned to Local Area Network in status. That Gateway IP address will be the IP address of the NAVAN LAN IP address.  User can also default the LAN IP using RESET switch given on NAVAN CNX200. This RESET

switch will default LAN IP address, Subnet mask and SE password of the NAVAN CNX200. User can use blunt pin to press RESET switch for 5 to 10 seconds. Don’t press it for more than 10 seconds otherwise it may default other parameter also.

Q: How to default password for NAVAN CNX200

A:

You can default NAVAN CNX200 password using RESET switch given on the back panel of the unit. Press the RESET switch with blunt ping for 5 to 10 seconds and it will default SE password, LAN IP address and Subnet mask of the NAVAN CNX200.

Q: My laptop/Mobile is not getting connected to NAVAN CNX200 using

Wi-Fi

A:

Ensure basic settings for Wi-Fi under Wireless LAN is configured properly.

Check that Enable flag is tick marked. Ensure that Network Name (SSID) is given and SSID Broadcast checkbox is tick marked.

Verify that the Authentication key used in laptop or mobile is same as configured in Security settings of Wi-Fi settings.

Check the status page of Wireless LAN and make sure that host connected to NAVAN CNX200 through Wi-Fi is less than 48 as maximum number of host supported in NAVAN CNX200 is 48.

Q: Fallback on Active WAN is not working

Click on WAN and check for the parameter configured in Active WAN

Mae sure that Fallback to another priority when connection is unavailable checkbox is tick marked. Atleast 2 priority should be configured.

Two Priorities can not be same.

Q: USB dongle is not getting connected for internet in NAVAN CNX200

A:

First of all connect USB dongle to laptop/PC and make sure it is working properly and you are getting internet through it.

Now connect USB dongle to the USB port of NAVAN CNX200. Connect your laptop/PC on any of the LAN port of NAVAN CNX200. If you are configuring NAVAN CNX200 for first time then assign laptop/PC LAN port IP address in 192.168.2.xxx subnet or you can keep in DHCP mode to get IP from NAVAN CNX200. Access NAVAN CNX200 web GUI through its default LAN IP address 192.168.2.56.

Click on LAN & WAN tab and select WAN. Click on Wireless WAN (WWAN)

Now configure parameter for USB Dongle.

Select service type as GSM or CDMA supported for USB dongle

Entre credential for Access Point name, Number to Dial, User Name and Password provided by service provider to establish connection and click on submit to save the parameter.

Now go to Active WAN tab and select priority 1 as GSM/UMTS USB Dongle and click on submit to save the selected parameter.

Now open Status page for LAN & WAN and select Network to check the connectivity status of the USB dongle. On successful connection NAVAN CNX200 will get IP address from service provider as per below snap.

Now you can also access NAVAN CNX200 web GUI from anywhere in the world through assigned IP address by service provider.
