Learning on Demand Modules

At ESI we believe that a good return on training investment is achieved by assessing the long-term impact a training programme should have on the business.

Learning a new skill in a classroom setting is one thing; actually applying that skill to the job is completely another. Without reinforcing what participants learn,

training becomes just another theoretical idea without any practical application. Real learning is about adopting and applying what you learn to reality.

ESI’s Impact Model -

Assess

,

Implement

and Adopt - demonstrates this valuable process.

Each activity drives value and results on its own; however, it is when they come together along with validation at each stage which delivers immediate,

(3)

Assess: defining where you are and where you want to go

Assessments provide the tangible data and benchmarks that allow ESI to develop learning solutions that are fully aligned with your needs.

These benchmarks also provide the basis for setting defined improvement targets, for validating the effectiveness of the learning programme,

and for measuring the impact of that programme on behaviours in the workplace.

Individual Assessment

• PMAppraise®

Allows you to assess your employees project management training needs. • BAAppraise®

Allows you to assess your employees Business Analysis training needs. • PM360: A Competency Assessment

This is a tool that helps clients measure and benchmark soft skills competencies and behaviours in their project managers from a true 360 perspective. An individual’s own “self rating”, against the 6 competency areas and 40 individual behaviours, is reflected against, and compared with, how key internal stakeholder groups perceive those same behaviours in terms of their importance and their application.

Organisational Assessment

• PMKnowledge & Practices Survey

This online survey is baselined against Levels 2 and 3 of ESI’s project management maturity model projectFRAmEWORK™. Its designed to measure an organisation’s “AS-IS” state, in terms of the project management practices that currently exist, the extent to which those practices are being deployed and used consistently by the groups being surveyed, and how that deployment relates to their knowledge of “best practice” in the same areas.

• BA Knowledge & Practices Survey

This online survey is to generate data on a client’s current Business Analysis (BA) working practices, and related BA performance, across the full requirements lifecycle. The survey, which is IIBA-aligned, is designed to measure:

u The BA practices that currently exist.

uThe extent to which those practices are being deployed and used consistently

by the groups being surveyed.

u How that current deployment relates to their knowledge of “best practice”

in the same areas.

Analysis of the survey data provides evidence of good, consistent practice, and also highlights areas where further investigation, or specific interventions, may be required to improve practices and elevate performance. • Agile Knowledge Assessment

This evaluates how well individuals understand and utilise Agile practices and how the work environment impacts the project team.

• High Performer PM360

most organisations don’t seem to know where their project management performance benchmarks are set, particularly as it relates to the application and impact of “soft skills”. The key to establishing the required benchmarks, sits with the perceived “high performers” in your current pm organisation. Working with a group of your nominated “high performers”, ESI uses its project manager Competency model and pm360 assessment tool to help put hard measures around the perceived value, and observed impact, of specific soft skill behaviours of your key stakeholder groups, and their views on what constitutes project “success” for the current organisation.

• ProjectFRAMEWORK™ Assessments

During a projectFRAmEWORK assessment, your organisation is assessed

on 50 key process areas across ten pmBOK® Guide knowledge areas

and will receive a “maturity score” for each. The assessment involves a combination of on-line surveys, selected interviews and reviews of key documentation. Upon completion, ESI provides you with a prioritised list of recommendations to improve performance and help your organisation advance to the next “maturity” level.

• OPM3® Assessments

ESI partners with qualified Opm3/product Suite assessors to conduct assessments across the domains of project, programme and portfolio management for your organisation.

ESI’s Project Management & Business Analysis assessment tools evaluate your employees needs & requirements:

At ESI International, we understand that learning is not just a single event. It’s a continuous process that occurs over time.

Organisational Knowledge & Skills Adoption

By focusing on organisational knowledge and skills adoption, you will see how the “classroom” skills transfer into performance and behaviours that can be seen and felt in the workplace, the impact of which can be measured at an organisational level.

ESI International has developed 19 project management Learning on Demand modules that covers the 4 phases of the project life cycle and 5 Business Analysis and 3 Information Technology Learning on Demand modules. Each module is 90 minutes long, self- paced and online. These modules can be used as part of a knowledge reinforcement or adoption strategy.

Project Planning Workshops

project planning workshops provide a practical complement to ESI’s formal project management training programmes. The workshops are led and facilitated by an experienced workshop “coach”, and are available in a 3, 4 or 5 day format.

There are 2 different types of Project Planning Workshops:

• project Simulation Workshop

A project simulation workshop uses a specifically developed client case study and brings together project managers from different parts of the business to work through simulations together to build a more common, practical and robust approach to the planning activities they undertake for their own live projects.

• “Live” project Workshop

The “Live” project Workshop is designed to fast-track the planning process for “live” client projects, while at the same time building higher levels of quality, robustness and consistency into the planning deliverables.

Adopt: reinforcing and Applying the Skills Learned

Learning on Demand (LOD Modules)

Your learning programme has to achieve real-world results to be successful. Our adoption tools have been specifically designed to ensure new skills

and knowledge learned are leveraged and retained, so you continue to get the measurable results you need going forward. ESI follow your programme

from planning through post-implementation and assessment, to ensure that processes and practices deliver the desired impact.

Individual Knowledge & Skills Adoption

By focusing on an individual’s knowledge and skills adoption, you will see how the individual can transfer their “classroom” knowledge to their workplace and improve their performance and behaviours.
