We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator for a company that provides integrated software solutions for lease management, engine fleet planning, records scanning as well as technical and back office services for aircraft and engine operators.
Duties/Responsibilities
Oversee the development and organization of the databases
Assess and implement of new technologies
Train and develop technical support and applications staff to better utilize on-line processing databases environment
Provide and design tools to assist in the management of the database and transaction processing environment
Work to provide a working model of our transaction processing environment for capacity assessment and planning
Develop a methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas
Develop a security scheme for the database environment, as well as assisting in disaster recovery if necessary
Work with the transaction processing area to develop both the physical and the logical database administration functions and assists in the development of our processing database and computing environments
Work with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies
Your profile
BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field
5+ years’ IT experience with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
9+ years of experience in: Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server 2012 and 2008, Database Administration, Database Tuning, Database Management, Database Security, Transact SQL T-SQL, MCSA SQL Server 2012
Knowledge of Oracle of benefit
Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques
Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
Excellent English language skills
Technical documentation skills
Self-motivated and directed, with inherent attention to detail
