LEARNING LOUNGE- HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Employee Wellness Programs

FMI Learning Lounge, Exhibit Hall, #4775

How can retailers create a culture of wellness from the inside out? It starts with your employees. Celebrating its 17th year as one of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For," Wegmans' culture of empowerment,

continuous improvement and employee wellness philosophy led to the creation of a pharmacy-run employee wellness program focusing on blood pressure, heart disease and type II diabetes. By expanding the program into the community, Wegmans has discovered a powerful tool that helps employees, customers and the community make connections between food, medicine, and disease management. Join this interactive discussion as they share the four principles of development for the program and outline their goals and achievements, and learn how the first steps to creating a path towards a successful corporate health and wellness culture start in your own back yard.

WORKSHOP – HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Bridging Pharmacy and Nutrition to Leverage the Business Benefit of Health and Wellness

Programs

Renaissance Ballroom, InterContinental Hotel

Does your pharmacy provide services to improve adherence to cholesterol lowering medications, monitor blood pressure, or help patients manage their diabetes? Are you partnering across the store to meet the wellness needs of your shopper? Retailers across the country are leveraging health and wellness to improve customer loyalty, gain new shoppers and increase sales of better-for-you products. Maximizing upon this trend requires developing synergies across nutrition and pharmacy programs, and related ties to merchandising, marketing and

communications. This interactive, guided workshop will bring together retail nutrition, pharmacy, merchandising and marketing leads in an interactive learning environment to identify opportunities and formulate strategies to bridge and synergize health and wellness initiatives by integrating pharmacy and nutrition services. It will provide a health and wellness program assessment, planning and measurement framework based on actual interviews and information collected from successful health and wellness programs. For maximum success, we encourage attendance by cross-functional teams in the health and wellness space.
