Swimming / small beaches on the recreational islands
In summer you can take a pleasant swim in the lake. In the harbor there are several swim ladders. Island 1 and 2 are reachable by foot (15 min.). Here you’ll find several beaches and a playground for children. Island 3 till 5 and 8 are also in the possession of these facilities, but are better reachable by boat.
When the weather is al little bit more chilly, you can try these swimming pools:

Walking routes from the camping side..
In the green heart of the Netherlands several walking paths are constructed for you. The paths run through
our beautiful nature. The following routes cross our camping. Open from the 16th of June (end of breeding season)

Botsholroute 13 km +/- 3.5 hour
De Botsholroute is the only one you can walk with a forester on MP3. The forester will tell you something about the environment on several points on your path. The MP3 players are for rent at the reception for only €2,50 a day. For a map of the paths we have several maps for you at the reception.

You can also make your own route. If you want to do this, you can easily use our map with bicycle hubs. These hubs are findable through the whole of Holland and make riding a bike a little bit more fun. The cool part is you can start right away at the Winkeldijk!
Scuba diving in the lake of Vinkeveen

The long distance walking route ‘Stelling van Amsterdam’ is crossing the forth.

Every Saturday and Sunday they open the doors of their local food tasting. Here you’ll find products from their own region and kitchen. This place is a nice stop for coffee or lunch when you’re doing a walking- or cycling tour. In summer they have a big terrace where you can enjoy the view on ‘t Gein.

Here you can buy products with you five senses. They’re open every Thursday until Saturday. You can have a taste of our farm here. VINKEVEEN (8 km) Ronde Venen museum
This museum tells the story of the history of Vinkeveen and its peat stabbing.

Farm for small fruits, with home sale for red berries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and plums.

Castle ter Horst in Loenen
In July, August and September they have guided tours(1,5 hour) every Monday. The tours are provided by experienced guides. In July and August the tour starts on 10.30 and 14.00. Corn mill De Vriendschap
Authentic corn mill ‘De Vriendschap’ is a classic old windmill at the bank of de Vecht. On Tuesday and Saturday the mill is working when there is enough wind. Visiting hours: Every Saturday from 10.00 – 16.00

KAMERIK (22,5 km) De Boerinn
Like golf? In these region we like farmers golf! For a match farmers golf you can visit de Boerinn. In between the sheep’s and cows there is an 18 holes golf course. The game is the farmers way of playing golf. The golf stick is replaced by a wooden stick with a wooden shoe and the ball has quite a bigger size. During the game you’ll come across several difficulties such bunkers, pipes, ditches and mounds.

Kasteel de Haar is the biggest and most luxurious castle in the Netherlands. You can visit the castle with a guided tour or make a walking tour through the park.
