B E N E F I T C H O I C E S
The TranSystems Benefits Plan is designed to acknowledge that our workforce is indeed diverse. Our program’s flexibility recognizes this diversity and encourages each of you to design your own benefits plan based on your individual needs.
Your Benefit Choices include:
● Medical / Prescription Coverage – 4 Options
● Dental Coverage
● Vision Coverage
● Supplemental Life Insurance
● Medical Spending Account
● Dependent Care Spending Account
● Health Savings Account
● Wellness “Highway to Wellness”
Medical / Prescription Coverage
TranSystems uses BlueCross and BlueShield of Kansas City and the nationwide BlueCard® PPO provider
networks for all four medical plan options. Call your doctor and ask if they are a BlueCard® PPO provider or
you can locate a participating PPO provider, by calling the BlueCard® doctor and hospital information line at
1-800-810-BLUE (2583).
The PPO Options
– The program offers three Traditional Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan choices: $500, $1,000, and a $1,500 deductible plan. Under all options, medical services and benefits are paid at higher levels when you use participating providers. At the same time, the PPO options give you the freedom to utilize the services of any Out-Of-Network provider by paying higher deductibles and coinsurance. The BlueSaver Option
– The BlueSaver option is a qualified high deductible plan. This plan allows you to elect a Health Savings Account to fund the medical expenses tax free. All expenses go towards the $2,500 deductible with this plan. There are no office visit copays. If you choose to elect the Health Savings Account along with the plan, then you can roll over your funds year to year in the account to help assist with the costs associated with the plan, premiums for qualified plans, or investment options.Important Responsibility – When Using In-Network Providers
None of the Company plans require you to see a pre-selected Primary Care Physician or obtain a referral for specialty, hospital, laboratory services, or other provider’s care. You choose your doctors, specialists, hospitals and laboratories from the network whenever or wherever you need care. With this freedom comes an important responsibility; you must make sure you are receiving care from network providers in order for your expenses to be reimbursed at the in-network level. It is necessary to confirm with your provider and the network that the provider belongs to the network before services are rendered.
Eligible Dependents
Dental Coverage
Our Benefits Plan provides a dental plan administered by Delta Dental of Missouri.
Under the dental program, you and your family may use the licensed dentist or dental practice of your choice. Our dental program includes Orthodontia coverage for children paid at 50% (In-Network) and 50% of Reasonable and Customary (Out-of-Network) up to a Lifetime maximum of $1,500. All other services received through an In-Network Provider are paid at a higher co-insurance level and higher maximum annual amount.
Enhancements “Healthy Smiles, Healthy Lives”
TranSystems offers additional dental benefits through their plan. “High risk” members receive 2 additional cleanings per year, implant coverage includes bone grafts, and there is an enhanced sealant benefit to cover all ages every three years covered at 100%.
Vision Coverage
Supplemental Life Insurance
TranSystems provides Life Insurance as a Core Benefit to all eligible employees. This Core coverage is provided at no cost to you.
You also have the opportunity to purchase Supplemental Life Insurance for yourself, your spouse, and
dependent children. Your cost for this coverage is based on the amount you elect and your age. You can elect up to 5 times your earnings or $500,000.
