INTRODUCTION

Multan Medical and Dental College is developed as a state-of-the-art medical institution imparting accredited and approved medical education and research. Ibn-e-Seina Hospital and Research Institute is a research-oriented teaching hospital that fulfills the requirement of training and research of medical students.

ADMISSION POLICY 2021-2022

Multan Medical and Dental College will strictly follow the Pakistan Medical Commission notification dated 4th June 2021 regarding admissions, curriculum and conduct regulation 2021. Admissions will start in July 2021 for the session of 2021-2022, Any changes in the policy of the Pakistan Medical Commission will be implemented immediately even after admission forms have been submitted.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSIONS

Any person seeking admission in MBBS or BDS possessing the following criteria shall be eligible to afore mentioned courses;

a) Having passed the MDCAT examination conducted by the National Medical Authority, with minimum score of 65%.

b) Obtaining a Higher Secondary School Certificate qualification ("HSSC") or an equivalent 12th-grade qualification recognized in Pakistan and having obtained more than 65% marks therein, or a higher percentage as may be notified by the Pakistan Medical Commission. C) Must have passed the subjects of biology and chemistry and either physics or mathematics in the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12' grade qualification recognized in Pakistan.

This policy will apply to all students taking their FSC in 2021, as well as those who are applying based on either last year's FSC results or A-levels results, to ensure no discrimination in merit calculation.

It should be noted that applying students must have obtained an aggregate score of 65% or more in their HSSC qualification.

ADMISSION PROCESS

The admission process shall be conducted through an online portal and in a transparent manner. The college will publicly open the admissions in July 2021 allowing candidates to submit their applications for admission to Multan Medical and Dental College.

Admissions to medical and dental programs shall be conducted separately and each candidate shall be required to apply for MBBS and BDS programs separately. A candidate having not applied to a given program shall not be entitled to admission to such program.

Pakistan rupees one thousand will be charged from a candidate when applying for admission.

A candidate may apply for admission irrespective of them having taken the MDCAT or HSSC or equivalent 12th-grade qualification exam subject to the requisite results being available and provided by the candidate to the college prior to 10th December of the relevant year. If any HSSC or equivalent 12th-grade qualification result is delayed beyond 10th December the candidate's application for admission shall be retained by the college and shall be applicable for the next academic year.

An aptitude Panel interview will be part of the admission process. College will notify the dates for panel interviews.

The final merit list will be uploaded online on or before 15th December after having completed all interviews and taking into account the results of MDCAT and other exam results for purposes of calculating the merit. The final merit list shall list all candidates who have applied to the college and fulfilled the minimum merit requirements. The merit list shall be issued on the college website. The final merit list shall represent an offer by the college to the candidates based on their merit against the allocated seats of each college.

The college shall give the applicant at least three working days to submit their fee which shall represent the acceptance of the offer by the candidate.

INTERVIE W ST RUCTURE

The structure is mentioned in detail in the INTERVIEW GUIDE. 1. Briefing

• Each session should start with a clear, concise briefing to the Candidates.

• This will introduce the session and its structure, explain the learning objectives, and address any questions.

• A brief presentation will be given in the auditorium and Queries will be answered by the selected representatives.

• The presentations will be given multiple times to make sure every pool of arriving students receive the briefing of the interview in case they did not come prepared for the interview and did not go through the interview guide.

2. Interview

• The interview will be a Panel Interview with 20% weightage in the merit formation.

• Interviews for MBBS and BDS candidates will be taken separately.

• The candidates who wish to change their interview dates if they coincide with the dates of another college interview. They can email their application to change the dates if they have the interview in another college on the same date.

3. Feedback

• Feedback is mandatory so that MMDC can improve its shortcomings.
